  1. Haha well mine is leveled and I keep my tires between 41 and 44 for the same reason + it gets a bit better MPGs. I can say mine rides a bit on the rough side Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Good looking tire. And I must say. When I see your posts and your profile picture I imagine a very sophisticated dog just typing with this look like 'yea, I'm a dog. Is there a problem?' Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. How's the ride and do you have any pics? I'm curious how the truck looks with the 4" and stock rims. It's how I want mine to look! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. There are no real blanket laws other than that lights on the front of the vehicle should only be white or amber/yellow, side should only be amber or red, and back of the vehicle should only be red or, if it is an emergency flasher or turn signal then it can be amber. Those are my general rules for lights. Outside of that cops around here start to give you trouble as long as you do not have an excessive amount of light coming from the light source. I would check your local laws for specifics about any lights you want to change. You can change pretty much any lights from halogen to LED as long as it still operates as it should, ie it doesn't have a hyper blink. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks man. And mine wouldn't be high enough to see the puck from the wheel well I don't think. Mine is only leveled. Want to get it lifted but it'll probably stay like it it for a while suspension lift wise. But It looks like I may do the body lift! Just gotta see about getting it done. Thanks for the pics! Truck looks great! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. How does it look all around with the body lift? Any ugly gaps? Such as I heard the hitch gets a gap between it and the body with a body lift. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Get a load resistor. It trucks the computer into thinking there is the original halogen bulb still there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Mind telling me where you got the tips? I am considering getting my magnaflow dual exit under the bumper changed to dual out the sides, and If I do change it I'll certainly be getting those tips! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Spurshot, I just noticed your post about HIDs in another thread, HIDs in your fogs will have a strong potential to blind oncoming drivers, even if you put 25W HIDs in. I have gotten flashed once or twice since I put mine in, but both were by people driving very low vehicles. I am not sure, but I would think that even LED upgrades would have the potential to blind others, but not nearly as bad as HIDs due to the difference in brightness. I'm not sure about Echavez's HID's output, but I know that mine have a 2000 lumen rating per bulb. However mine will soon be changing to projector style housings and 55W HIDs, but should not blind others due to the projector housing. When I finally get to install them I will let everyone know how it goes. Truck going in to get the oil life remaining sensor changed becuase it keeps going back to 100% everytime to start the truck and will only go down to about 98%. Try emailing company's that have 25W HIDs listed on their website and see if they will tell you the lumen rating, if it is not already mentioned on the website Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. If you can use tap stalk on a smartphone or tablet it is really easy. That's what I do Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Haha yea it is overkill. But I think that they may have done that to ensure that it won't blow on power up and only if there is a real short. Not sure, but that's just my opinion Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Damn. Do you know if there is a way to make it so that you can use the stock rims on that kit? I want a kit that I can use my stock 20s. I like the way that they look and don't feel like paying for another set of rims until these get too damaged to stand Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Moto, I'm not sure if this is just becuase I ordered a 55W kit, but i know that the 35W kit that I ordered a while back came with a 40A relay on the harness but my 55W kit that I ordered much more recently came with an 80A relay on the wire harness. Not sure if this is also part of the changes that DDM made or if it is just because of the kit I ordered Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. You could order new bulbs from DDM. They are like $15 a pair and work with both 55W and 35W ballasts. Or you could order 55W ballasts at $17.50 a piece. Although if you would be wanting to go the ballast way, DDM suggests that you just order a whole kit becuase the entire kit gets you a lifetime warranty while the individual component sales are only given a 1 year warranty Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Can you run the stock rims? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. DDMtuning.com. They are from China but many other users on here with Sierras have used either DDM or Theretrofitsource.com (TRS.com sells Morimoto kits which are pricey) I got the DDM kit, they are nice but still cost effective. Some people have needed both the wire harness and the error code eliminator. But apparently my truck didn't like the error code eliminators and so my truck decided to short them out and ruin them, so I wired everything without the ECEs and it works fine. Go check out the HID topic moto created and you can see more Info about all things HID and what you'll need. http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?/topic/152762-HID-Headlight-Bulbs---HID-Projector-Retrofit Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Mine only matches after it warms up for about 20-30 seconds. After being on for a full minute, the color stabilizes and matches perfectly with the LED strips. Also mine is 55W so the color is more washed out and more white, do you have 55W or 35W? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Thanks for the info man. And yea I have some pics of the projectors early on in the installment process earlier in this thread. Right now I am finishing up painting them. This weekend after it dries I will look at possibly performing the final install. The only trouble is since they came with halos on them, I would just have to do the same color on the headlights. Unless I make the headlights color shift and leave the fogs as their own entity. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Finally installed my 55W 5000K HIDs today. The color PERFECTLY matched my LED DRLs and made a HUGE difference with sight. Extremely happy. Now to retrofit the fog lights with projectors and soon after another set of HIDs will be in there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Thanks man. And damn that looks good. I've always been a lighting freak, but I have been able to keep it at a tasteful limit, not go all out and make it look like Mexican ricer sh*t. And yea I do NOT want the 2 piece kit. Hate how it looks. I have talked to the local oracle shop about 10 minutes from my house and they gave me an estimated turn around time of about 2-3 days if I got halos or projectors. But imma call them again and see about halos like that. It won't be right now that I could get them, gotta let the bank account revive after all my HID dealings. About $250 in right now haha with the projector stand alone fogs and 55W 5000K bulbs for both those and my headlights. I am not debating on actually turning the fog projectors and making them into an "oh sh*t I can't see" kind of light since those + my low beams are about as bright as a 40" off road bar single row (which is equivalent to about 20,000 lumens). I gotta see if the local oracle shop will do halos like that for me. If not then they just lost business Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Woah wait a second, are those oracle halos? Becuase I thought oracle just made two halos of a circle for the sierras and silverados K2 body. Not a full ring. Now I want some! Damn it Echavez haha. Also I managed to get some progress tonight. I got my HIDs in. Here's how it went They are DDM 55W 5000K 9006 with wire harness and I had error code eliminators/capacitors At first everything went well, then, I went to test the bulbs. Oh dear God how much fun that was. I had 2, not 1, BUT 2 error code eliminators blow out some liquid, smoke, and give that really irritating smell that electronics only give off when they are done for. Got extremely aggravated. So I decided to give the HIDs a shot without the capacitor. They worked flawlessly. I decided I would test my auto headlights (although they were already in auto mode and working fine) but no matter how bright a light I shined on it, the twilight sensor would not be tricked into thinking it was daytime. So imma have to wait till morning to check on that, but I'm thinking all will be good. So I continued the installation, all went extremely well after the capacitor insident. I also left the truck run for approximately 10-15 minutes and the headlights stayed on, full power, no trouble, no flicker, they did nothing other than what they were supposed to do. Oh and before anyone asks or if anyone wonders, I did have the capacitors wired properly, I wired them the other day and I checked them again tonight before installing by checking the diagram that moto posted in the first post in the thread. My favorite things about these bulbs: Bright but not blinding unless you are on the ground, like you gotta be in a slammed car just as like Echavez said about his lights PERFECTLY, and I mean PERFECTLY MATCH THE LED DRLs. I like flipped out with joy that the bulb color matched the LED DRLs SO WELL. If they were even slightly off, my OCD would have driven me up the wall so far that I would've been in the clouds. So overall, I am happy so far. Except with the capacitors, cause that was dumb that they blew. Would love to know why Honestly the bulb color compared to the LED DRLs in the picture does no justice. If you want to see what color my bulbs are, go look at the LEDs in your truck, if equipped, becuase chances are that they look the same color as my HIDs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. So there's no known way to access the RAP from the engine compartment? No fuse or wire that could be spliced? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I have not changed mine. But I do know that if you try to change a light that has to do with the blinker system, then you will get the hyper blink and then a message on the DIC saying that there is a left/right turn signal error. I'm surprised GM didn't put LEDs there stock. Many other manufactures are already switching to tail light LEDs, but since we are talking about trucks, I think it's just becuase trucks are not necessarily a family or DD vehicle, however it does seem that they are making their way to the category Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. We have a thread dedicated to all things HID headlights. http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?/topic/152762-HID-Headlight-Bulbs---HID-Projector-Retrofit Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. update on my project, HIDs came in today, much faster from Cali to LA than I expected. I will be going to the hardware store to get a step drill bit so I can make the spots for the wires in the headlights and will be finishing up the fog light assemblies. (still have to finish paint on one of them and seal it to the mounting plate that I made. Before the end of the week I should have the headlights in, but fogs may have to wait till this weekend or more likely sometime next week since I am bringing it to dealership for an issue with the oil life remaining guage
