  1. Oil lines have been leaking on GM trucks for decades, whether they are for a remote cooler or for remote oil filter lines like my 89 s10 baja had or my 95 s10 zr2. They don't fix them for free like i tried to tell the OP before he posted back calling me a troll essentially! That tsb probably only indicates a batch made between this date and that date and at that specific plant. The lines are junk, they have always been a problem with GM either leaking or blowing out all together. I have never seen them out of warranty fix them free of charge, it was and has always been treated like a wear and tear item from my experiences.
  2. Yeah that is a dead end, seeing this is Texas it could very likely be an illegal alien that hit him. I agree the lawyer thing will only cost the OP more money, I'm just kind of dumb founded on why a truck this new would have light coverage like this, especially in a state that is literally overrun with illegals who couldn't give 2 craps about our rules and laws!
  3. I agree wtf??? If this is something you told your insurance you didn't want or need, if so then consider this a very expensive learning experience. As said above i take it your truck is paid off, if it has a loan that coverage is mandatory, or at least it is in my state. Frame damage and also airbags deployed = total loss imo. That thing will cost a lot to make right again imo.
  4. Give it a year and they will be back to putting 15-20k on the hoods, the good times are about to end for dealers. A bigger problem though is they are about to end for all of us too.
  5. If your out of your warranty period i doubt very much the dealer will replace at no cost.
  6. ESC is a warning for the Stability Control, did you go after market with the cam swap or are the parts all stock and if they are stock, why the need to reprogram anything? I'm thinking at least for the ESC warning is that the mechanic didn't put everything back together 100%, i could be wrong though this is just a hunch as those are errors are for things like traction control or abs systems.
  7. Well kind of, because interest rates are going to soak up much of the discount price and considering these manufactures all used the covid excuse to drive up msrp's 10+%, because they were jealous seeing their dealer networks reaping the benefits of high demand, even when they place high rebates on the hoods it will be tough to push this inventory out. You will be forced to larger volume dealers who can work to get the best rates possible, smaller dealers and used car lots will all be out of business soon imo!
  8. Give it 6 months to a year and these dealers will be back at putting 16+k on the hoods to push inventory, it is already starting to get ugly for all makes in this country as inventory starts to pile up. Been watching youtubers in the used market who are seeing multiple dealers now dumping brand new inventory at the auctions to try and move it.
  9. Lol ok, i don't have a dog in this fight other then 3 + decades of experience regarding GM, and i will believe it when i see it. This isn't just plugging in a switch or something, i doubt gm will incur the cost to retrofit literally hundreds of thousands of trucks missing these items. For all of your sakes i hope I'm wrong, but once again this is GM we are talking about.
  10. Imo it is on you if you think GM is going to years later go installing parts at no cost. That 50 dollar credit was it imo, of course now if you want to add this option back in, it would cost you more than likely thousands. The last 2 years will go down as the absolute worst time to have bought a new vehicle imo, between prices being super inflated and the deletion of options with nearly nothing given back in return, these model years will be best to be avoided in the secondary used market too.
  11. Man how things have changed, not even 4 years ago these same trucks had 16k on the hoods from them! From everyone i have seen on this site over the years the pricing has seemed to always be legit from them. There have been a ton of members here who have dealt with them that can hopefully come in here and give you a bit more in person experience with them.
  12. I have run Ko's and now Ko 2's for the last 3 decades on my trucks and have had nothing but great luck with them. Besides they absolutely imo look better than any other tire on the market and it really is not even close imo, they also have the performance to match their looks. My current set of Ko's now have over 50k on them, the original Ko's would dry crack at this point but the ko'2s seem to be made a bit better imo. Still i will be replacing them soon as they are nearing a decade old now. Yup you will most likely pay more for the BFG tires over most other types but the added price is worth it imo, like i said i have over 3 decades of positive experience with BFG all terrains, i bet you will be hard pressed to find anyone else here on this website that can confidently claim the same with another brand!
  13. It's in auto and no damage should be done to the system, as another reader said the front wheels will not engage unless it detects slipping from the rear. Did the dealer say exactly what service they want to perform because judging by what your posting imo you should be looking for a new dealership. It won't affect the oil in the trans case or diffs in 1,800 worth of miles driving in auto, so it would be interesting to hear what services they are trying to push on you. I think you should be able to feel ok that nothing bad happened, especially if it is running with no issues at the moment.
  14. Yeah that doesn't look like a very easy one to fix, if it is aluminum i would think that also increases the cost.
  15. Yeah from that picture to me it looks like this panel was gouged by something metal. Can a dent guy repair gouged metal like that? I would think that would require a proper auto body shop to smooth it over and respray.
  16. Yeah those days ended back in the 1990's, i don't think there are many parts on the front end under a grand or two except maybe the bolts and emblem.
  17. jk And here is a live shot of Grumpy figuring all this #@#@ out!
  18. What is diesel cost now in that god forsaken state? I hear our country only has a 25 day supply left of diesel fuel, have all of you with these engines thought about what you are going to do if a long term shortage hits?
  19. Not to get into this argument of what is best practice for you first oil change, as it really doesn't matter and is more of a preference of the user imo. I have seen almost more low mileage under 5k lifter failures on here than ones with higher miles. I don't think the cleanliness of oil has anything to do with the lifter issues on these trucks, just bad parts that have a high failure rate unfortunately.
  20. My advice would be to not drive if you have iced over conditions, the problem is going through southern states that have next to no equipment to handle the conditions, like sanders or salters. Not to mention i would take a good guess that over 50% of licensed drivers in non snow states are as useless as ****** on a bull driving in snow or ice, hell many times they have shown they can't even drive in rain!
  21. Looks like a Bob Ross painting.
  22. Same here in western mass, all Ford and Dodge dealerships have plenty of inventory to look at and buy, GMC/Chevy are still mainly used car dealers atm. I agree that gm is for some reason way behind the other makes in this country, my stance has been well noted on this site that i think the chip excuse is 100% self created at this point and has been successfully used to not only raise profit margins, but also msrp's! Ford has at least acknowledged price gouging by it's dealership network, Gm you hear nothing but crickets, it is a terrible time to buy anything right now imo.
  23. Yeah that is not happening. Maybe your powertrain warranty would cover it, not sure if that goes to 100k still but if out of warranty GM would most likely not give a dime.
  24. Just a thought but perhaps record the issue with your phone the next time it happens? It always seems to work out that the problem disappears when a dealer is tasked to look it over.
  25. Just like i thought, a stupid bone head directive by gm because of their crap part sourcing and availability issues. No doubt this issue should require both banks to be changed at the same time, not one.
