  1. More than likely the first pump was damaged during the push rod install as i believe that part needs to be removed when taking the top half of the motor apart. Either that or it was installed wrong, the water pump is seriously one part on these trucks that i have never really heard any complaints on. My guess like some others here is that the first time they fixed it they didnt put a new pump in and tried to make it work. Either that or they are installing it wrong somehow, the odds of getting two bad water pumps in a row are astronomical imo.
  2. For me, way back it was 3 but only used 2 because they seemed to use only filters that leaked anytime i took a included oil change. After two changes and both filters leaking with the changes almost a year apart, i decided the oil change was not worth having oil leak all over the underside of my truck. So my advice is to check the filter if you get the included changes, imo i think they use a lesser quality or left over junk for them. Is the only time i received filters that leaked in the now 8 years of owning this truck.
  3. Lol how did it break before even taking delivery, that is a new one to me. In any case the market is so poor right now, inventory wise, that i wouldn't doubt you can take delivery and possible flip it for a little profit right now if you get buyers remorse on it.
  4. It's a good time to sell, but you more then likely will be spending a good 5k plus or more for the same equipped truck in 22. Inflation, cash on the hood is now half to 1/3rd of what it was a year ago, and there isn't really any ending in sight for chip shortage, in fact imo it is getting worse as new areas of tech are seeing issues.
  5. My truck is at the dealer right now for a whine issue. Been happening since 2014 and they just continue to tell me it's the fuel pump, the oil pump, anything other then actually fixing it. I know it's not normal because i have 3 coworkers with the same truck just the 5.3 and they don't whine at all. Personally i think my issue is the pump in the torque converter, but im no mechanic. My issue is sometimes loud but most times a faint whine sound that fluctuates with if im moving faster or slower. Sounds very close to a old ford Tauris power steering whine issue that most of them developed. It is most noticeable when driving close to a wall or something, very annoying.
  6. Yes it sucks to have an issue but should the dealer tell a person who scheduled an appointment that they can't be seen because their spot was taken with a walk in? I wouldn't doubt these dealers are in not much of a better spot then retail or the food industry right now with employee availability. When you decentivize actually working for a living, because a dumb moronic government pays people more money to sit on their butts, this is the end result!
  7. Hopefully you can finally enjoy your new truck now.
  8. The OP could very well just have leaking system as like many others have for the last almost decade now with this design. Issues with the condenser, lines to it and even compressors have all shown a trend of going bad with lower miles. My truck has only 44k but is almost 8 years old now and have had all the items i listed above replaced. 25 prior years of gm trucks i never had an issue with the ac/system.
  9. I have the direct opposite, every delco battery surprisingly has given me well over 7 years of service, in each of my last 3 trucks. I bought a red top once from autozone and it was by a far far margin the biggest pile of junk i have ever used. Lasted me around 3 years before it crapped out on me. All the delcos by the way were replaced before failure, once i get over 7 years i fear of getting stranded. Maybe delcos changed but i didn't see any reason to switch brands after my 2014 trucks battery needed to be replaced, i can't complain about 7 years of solid service.
  10. Sorry you can google search it yourself to find multiple threads on this site alone for faulty valve springs in 2014 and up model years! Like i said, ongoing issues for years now, clearly another problem they rather allow customers to experience then change a part supplier or actually fix the issue.
  11. Yes and like i said it has been an ongoing problem for 8 years now. Collapsed Lifters which lead to bent pushrods and valve springs breaking are all 6.2 issues that have been happening since the 14 model change.
  12. Actually it is far worse than that as this has been an ongoing issue since they released the newer DI engines back at the start of the 14 model year, yes this has been an issue for 8 years now. Seems it has just been allowed to continue, you would think a part supplier or design change would of been implemented in the last 8 years but here we are!
  13. Values lol, Steve my now 8 year old truck is worth nearly what i paid for the thing. Truck values are through the roof, and i wouldn't worry to much on decreased values right now. A total replacement is about as best of an outcome you could of hoped for here imo, they shouldn't mess to much up if anything unplugging and replugging in a new engine.Taking cylinder heads off and ripping a motor down is what i wouldn't want. especially in a unclean environment like a dealership shop floor.
  14. Might be time for a lawyer actually, the 800 gm number is not going to do much for you imo, maybe at the most offer a certificate for accessories but they prob won't do much other than check in with your dealer and most likely give you the same info you already have.
  15. Problem is they just get replaced with the same failing lifters, this has now been an issue with the 6.2 since 2014. Gm clearly has taken the we will just fix the broken ones instead of doing what's right and making a part that won't fail.
  16. The aftermarket drilled or slotted power stop rotors are junk imo, i had some on my 05 and within two years the northeast climate had eating the things alive. My 2014 still has the oem rotors and pads on it, i'm thinking you might either Tow a good bit or have a heavy foot on the brake pedal or simply something is wrong with the system for them to only last that long.
  17. Problem is the parts are the same defective ones they are replacing.
  18. I really would of taken that can off, i know it didn't cause it, you know it didn't cause it even your service writer knows it didn't cause it. But i wouldn't be even the least bit shocked if that engineer voids it's coverage the second he sees it attached to the motor. Just a quick question but i wonder how many people even realize that this current government EPA has bills out right now looking to not only make it illegal to own a street legal track car, but to make things like custom tunes, superchargers, turbos anything that modifies a stock engine essentially illegal. I'm just amazed on a site like this i have not seen a single thread on this unless i missed it.
  19. That's not a gm only issue, all manufactures don't want customers tampering with equipment that they are on the hook for.
  20. One thing's for sure, unless you absolutely need a new truck, buying one right now is not a wise choice imo.
  21. Crap water based paints sprayed terribly thin along with rust belt states using that pretreat crap is just a bad combo imo. The part i dont understand is why is it not fully covered, he is well within his original manufacture warranty which does cover defects or paint and trim issues.
  22. Just to let everyone here know this has been an ongoing problem since 2014! So if anyone is thinking will the 2022 models be different, only if the 5.3 and 6.2 are not offered!
  23. Thinking the same thing although this carpet hack job is much worse imo, i declined to have that recall done on my truck for the seat belt, rather take my chances then have it hacked up like that.
  24. Man you like tempting fate, outside of your warranty too no less. I don't get the people here claiming not everyone has this problem, and your point to that is what? It is a thread asking if the same problem will carry over to the 22 model year, my answer to that is yes. If the body structure remains the same and they have the ability to carry over the same window part content wise, knowing gm, yes they will as it saves cost. Far cheaper for GM to just have dealers dump silicone on your back windows and at worst have to replace the window with another one.
