From the album: Past and present rides

Bazzazed, Akrapovic, Tuned setup shown for touring - ive changed a few things since this.
  2. his isnt a raptor, its a Lariat just has the SVT raptor rims. it really sits that much higher that the GM's have to have a 4-6" lift to fit the same tires as a ford? does the Z71 sit higher than the Z81?
  3. i just dont get how my buddy is running a 35's on a 2010 F150 on OEM Raptor rims with just a 2" front level and no rubbing....not sure what the tire width is off hand.
  4. i did just break my android charging port...maybe ill look into the apple. got a link to the HMI upgrade? (what is the HMI?) edit - is this it? http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/160886-hmi-upgrade-videonav-entry-in-motion-texting-etc/
  5. only iphone or android too? im not a apple fan...
  6. ya thats what i just noticed too. tagged for interest. i thought i saw that the guy who does the factory nav upgrade also has some app for screen mirroring
  7. cool thanks, im about to pull the trigger on some new rims and tires (was going to get them today but have to help some girl pick out a new car) but im trying to max out what fits without issues. i kinda want to lift it but would rather not, i like the rake because when i put my bikes in the back i dont want to ride nose up.
  8. stock height? can you toss up a pic? im trying to go as big as possible without modding suspension and im slightly disappointed that my buddies f150 fits 35's with just a 2" level
  9. not sure if you like leather, but you can get Katzins on ebay in black without the heat option for a few hundred bucks... i think its 500 ish.
  10. can you do that without the dealership? any idea how many remotes you can program to the truck? OP - i guess you out bid me.... i also think the remote feels cheap, already had 1 break, they replaced it.
  11. im thinking of taking my stock tubular chrome ones off and putting these on. can you tell me how low the steps sit? i guess the best measurement i would like is from bottom of runnungboard to bottom of the step. im trying to get a little more ground clearance.
  12. if anyone in Ontario Canada is looking for a short box soft trifold cover (has Chevy logo on it, direct from the dealer) i have a buddy who traded his 14 short box in for 14 reg box box and is looking to sell the cover. i dont know what he wants for it but i can get you in touch with him.
  13. got a pic? this is the same setup i want to run. i dont want to put a level kit on.
  14. i just got the same cover today, you may want to check where your drain tubes are routed to. i noticed you have the locking rod on the panel closest to the cab, and for some reason i have the slam latches on all 3 panels....design change maybe?
  15. i really considered going with a fiberglass cover, but my last one got scratched up. what brand did you get? raider? mine was lowrider, more smooth looking style than raider, but i think the latches you loose quality over raider.
  16. I ended up ordering the extang undercover flex, free install and it goes in tomorrow morning. Spent a lot more on it than i wanted to pay for a cover but that seems to be how I've been doing everything the last couple months. I really need something that is locking and not easy to break into, it's got to lock hunting gear In it.
  17. anyone know if a cover off a 2012 short box will fit my 2014 short box? not sure if the box size changed at all in the last 2 yrs?
  18. i dont know if your remote is made much different than the SLE other than yours has chrome on it and mine is all black, but the quality of the remotes seems very crappy in comparison to other remotes GM has used over the years. no clue about it wearing out to the extent that yours did but it just feels very light weight, thin plastic and the buttons suck to push(again in comparison to other GM remotes). i like the remote they use on the equanox/terrain with the pop out key, but i checked it will contact the shifter on the steering column so we cant use it. fyi your remote looks like hell, call gm and send them a email with it. be sure to include that this is a personal truck not a work truck.
  19. if that harness isnt insanely overpriced ill probably go that route...also as long as its not insanely hard to chase the wires. one other thing im curious of that you may know is that i heard the OEM heated switch buttons are under the dash, any clue if they are also running under the seats? i was looking at getting Katzkin leather seats and adding the OEM GM heated set bezle with OEM GM heated seat elements. ive heard from a friend that these are VERY good quality seat covers that actually fit very well, they used them to recover Fords at his dealership. http://katzkin.com/
  20. not to bring back a old question of mine but. i think we(you) discovered the center console has 2 wiring harnesses: #1 - Comes from the radio down #2 - is in the center console that powers all the outlets and light. and the jump seat has 2 wiring harnesses: #1 - Comes from the radio down #2 - is in the jump seat that powers all the outlets. harness #1 is different depending on which option you choose , center console or jump seat (which i still think is a fail on GM....)but can we just buy this harness to make it all plug and play?
  21. so apparently you work for GM, ill abandon my search for that harness because obviously you put in a lot of effort lol question though, the USB plugs you are trying to get working, would it not be easier to just get a identical plug setup as the one that is inside the center console with the 2 USB, input and SD card reader, get the proper plug and basically make the OEM harness split to support 2 identical plugs? in theory, USB plugs can be split, we see it all the time on computers with a Y split adapter so you can plug in a mouse and keyboard and a USB key, or the keyboards you plug into 1 USB output and then it has 2 or 3 more USB plugs on the back of the keyboard for USB keys. essentially that is what you would be making but for all the supported outlets in the one plug. Just a thought. great job with all the work to this point and documenting it, ill be following it once i decide to buy this console.
  22. kinda suspension related question. is there any stiffer sway bars that we can get? i know, its a truck, meant to have body roll and flex off-road. the only off-roading i will be doing is some trails that are just not considered provincial roads, ill be 80% just driving around highways, 10 towing and 10 some very easy trails is there a 2wd or 4x4 SS version of our trucks with sway bars?
  23. just checking the service manual...still doing some digging. there is a section that says to have a assistant lift up the carpet, and i took a small screen shot of the center console harness where it plugs in, it looks like it would be right where the ashtray is i think. edit - here is the only picture i can find that shows where it will plug in...kinda. i obviously dont have my truck yet so i dont remember what plugs are in the jump seat armrest and what are in the center console. the information they give the techs is very vague because this isnt really something they want to be as a dealer installed upgrade, its all just unbolt this unbolt that and detach electrical plug. then for the seat it just says remove the 4 bolts and unplug wiring. i really think the harness is in the truck, ill do some digging once i pick mine up...this should be plug and play...hopefully.
  24. just curious where the info comes from? i couldnt find it on gm parts direct. not questioning you, just the builds. it just seems dumb for GM to have the wiring coming out of the dash different just based on the center console. on my old CTS you could take a radio out of the 2003 ts with a built in OBD2 scanner and plug it into a 04-07 and have a scanner. same with a few other features, all the main wiring harnesses were the same just blocked off. even on my very old 1990 civic, it didnt come with a clock but pop off the plastic cover and the factory clock would just plug in (mind you it was probably just a positive and negative wire.) can anyone give a breakdown of what inputs/plugs there are on the ones factory equip with the console and those factory equip with the seat? i just went to check on my truck and they haven't done the box liner yet so i wont get it till thursday.
