  1. That doesn't sound right. I did a custom ordered truck from my local dealer and got a great deal on it. All GM dealers should have active rebates that you can take advantage of along with good trade in offers. The used market is what's hot right now, not so much the new market.
  2. Not that it stays in first longer, but the first to second change is often much, much more noticeable than any other change. In some cases, it is harsh. Now, I've only got 700 miles on mine as I recently bought it new so maybe that has something to do with it. Maybe something to do with the trans fluid not being warmed up. Not sure, I'm going to pay more attention and have the dealer share their thoughts on it.
  3. I have not heard of those. I'd recommend the Falken Wildpeak AT3W, it is a superb tire. I had a set on my 2014 Z71 for 4 years and 66k miles when I traded it in. One of the few AT tires with a tread wear warranty. Wet/rain traction is great, hyrdoplane resistance is excellent, and off-road, I've never been stuck with them. When the stock tires on my 2020 wear out, I will be getting a set of the Falken Wildpeak AT3W.
  4. I have the 3.0L Duramax and the ten speed. Same thing happens to me 99% of the time. All other gear changes are of the smoothest and fastest engagement though. Not sure why the 1st -> 2nd change (accelerating) is like that.
  5. You will be fine with the SL, just check that the tire's load rating meets your needs. E would be necessary on 2500s and 3500s. I recommend you check out the Falken Wildpeak AT3W. These are great tires.
  6. They are good tires, much better than the Goodyear SRA. I think the Falken Wildpeak AT3W is the best AT tire in my experience. Nothing bad to say on the Duratracs though.
  7. Amsoil Heavy Duty Metal Protector
  8. Check out "The Last Coat", aka TLC2. They have the best ceramic coating out there. The other one I haven't tried yet is called Ethos Graphene Coating. Theirs is supposedly better than any ceramic, given the properties of graphene vs SiO2. I'd recommend TLC2 but Ethos may be a worth a try!
  9. Just get it vinly wrapped or take it to a paint shop. In either case they can color match. Otherwise, check local junk yards.
  10. Nope, just plug it in and your VIN will show up on the screen of the tuner. I can ship the tuning guide with it as well to help get you started. Helps to guide you how to set certain items for your desired outcome.
  11. Oops, I didn't know that. To OP(Nightfly): In that case, opt for the Adaptive Ride Control!
  12. Wait for the 2021s, they will have the new adaptive suspension option available. I prefer the Z71 or AT4. I prefer the way the off-road tuned suspension handles and rides, as opposed to the standard option. My 2020 LTZ Z71 3.0L rides much better than my 2014 Z71 did. The new T1 platform and other updates contribute to that I'm sure. https://gmauthority.com/blog/category/technologies/adaptive-ride-control/
  13. Yep, still for sale. And yes, you can adjust just about everything with this one. http://www.hypertech-inc.com/MaxEnergy2.aspx
  14. The leafs are supposed to be above the axle. Front end may have some kind of drop on it too.
  15. As long as you take care of the seals and weather strips, you won't encounter any issues. If your truck is in the sun all the time like mine is, its even more important to do so.
  16. Peragon is a great choice. Will last as long as the truck does. https://www.peragon.com/?gclid=CjwKCAjwqML6BRAHEiwAdquMnedr5fYqmdIM4NEj_cV9U3RLjrTFBg_opP4_Pgo7Ex3wbFfHNPhZgRoC4q0QAvD_BwE
  17. I've got a fully loaded LTZ Z71 3.0L Duramax, so this is probably on the low end of the payload. Crew cab, short bed. Sent from my SM-G988U using Tapatalk
  18. The 3.0L Duramax is the way to go for MPG, and comes with a much better powertrain warranty. I chose it for these reasons, with the additional expectation that the diesel would last longer, experience less issues, and have better resale. All of these are just assumptions on my end. The 6.2L is the way to go if you need max towing capability and horsepower (thinking 0-60 times here). The 6.2L also has much better aftermarket performance support. Can't get any performance parts for the 3.0L Duramax right now, even a year later after the engine first debuted.
  19. Skip that and go for a Cobra. I have the version from two generations ago, still works great. Stays attached to my windshield 24x7 so its a good quality piece for sure. Install it yourself easily by tucking the wires behind the trim and weather stripping. https://www.cobra.com/collections/dash-cam
  20. I say skip the catch can. Not necessary. I'd recommend four amsoil products that I used in my 2014 5.3L when I was around 80k or so. Go get the Power Foam and Engine Flush. These will help get it back to new. Then, run the upper cylinder lubricant and complete fuel system treatment in the same tank with premium fuel. This combination will further clean up the truck. I recently traded my 2014 with 99k on it, and the engine still ran like new with the help of these products. I never used the transmission flush product, rather I used Lubeguard Platinum ATF protectant and Lubeguard shudder fix. Just added the appropriate amount into the existing transmission fluid. You have to drive for a while before these two start working, as they mix with the existing fluid. With all this care, you'll be set for the long haul.
  21. Looking to get $225, free shipping. Nope, no need to be reset. You just plug the tuner into your ODBII port and start your tuning process. I posted their website below so you can plug in your truck info to see whay gains you would get. Worked great with my 2014! Moved into a 2020 3.0L Duramax so I'm selling it. Check out their website (part number 2000): http://www.hypertech-inc.com/MaxEnergy2.aspx
  22. I have a Hypertech Max Energy 2.0 for sale, will ship to you, free shipping.
  23. Happy to hear everyone is ok. That is quite the car accident. If you order a 2021, you will get increased tow ratings Go for the 3.0L Duramax if you can! It's awesome!
  24. Traded and upgraded yesterday! First of all, the 10-speed transmission is unbelievable. Same can be said for the 3.0L Duramax. Smooth & quiet. The Duramax is full of torque, again very impressed. The cabin is huge, tons of interior space. Two car seats easily fit. Very fair deal from my local dealer, enjoyed working with them on this custom ordered truck. I ordered it on 6/25 and took delivery 8/26. 2014 LTZ Z71 5.3L -> 2020 LTZ Z71 3.0L Duramax (Pics below) Sent from my SM-G988U using Tapatalk
  25. Yep, still got it!
