  1. Dropped my truck off at the dealer again for coolant fogging up interior. Last week they replaced the radiator and thermostat for too many thermocycles but the issue was still there. I got the call today it will be $1,100 for the heater core. GM offered about $100 towards the repair. I'm disappointed to say the least.
  2. I've had mine for a year and they are still great but the silver spring is rusting (Michigan), if it was black I probably would not even notice.
  3. Come on over to Detroit and make me some sir, I'd thank you. I even have a heated garage that could make it feel like Cali, and not south east Michigan lol. Looks really good though wish I had your skill set. Are the speakers pictured what you put in the door or behind the seat? I'm looking to upgrade my kicker VSS
  4. Marv, did you make the adapter for your door 6x9 along with the dash speakers? I got the Metra Item #120823004 from Crutchfield for the 3 way kicker 6x9 and am not thrilled with it, it lacked the foam on the top of the speaker, and think I might have been happier with a 2way with better dash speakers. The Metra adapter just does not feel as tight as the OEM. I was also sold a 4x6 to 4'' Metra adapter by Crutcfield for my rear speakers which I've yet to install as it seemed a bit intimidating.
  5. I drove my old 95 1500 for the last few months and just getting back into my 2014 with a 6 speed and CAI/cat back. It still shifts like it has no idea what it's doing. For what it's worth it was the exact same without the CAI
  6. Towed a 27'' camper for my sister, and got to listen to 'service trailer brakes' for about two hours. Also noticed my Illuminated Bowtie from gmpartsauthority, that was only on the truck for 9 month is no longer working and I may need some air bags/helper springs if I continue to tow. I'm most upset with the bowtie.
  7. I have a OEM black bowtie that came with the lighted front bowtie, I'll get rid of it for the price of shipping.
  8. Jeep will be coming out with a galvanized frame. If FCA can do it, why can't GM?
  9. I was being sort of facetious, but the button on the far right, hill assist? Not sure what it's purpose is, you turn it on, I don't notice anything besides a green symbol and when you go over 5mph it will say ''for ___ to work reduce speed below 5mph" So far, nothing has allowed me to go 200 mph or turn off DRL or stop 'service trailer brake' from dinging 20 minutes of my 50 minute commute.
  10. I really live your OEM factory display but I have three fancy buttons that I've yet to figure out what they do plus the steering wheel controls, but best of all the 200mph speedo so it must be the button on the far right that will get it up to 200mph. looks like a truck on a slight downgrade with a speedo.
  11. Marv, is your display factory? I have the smaller non-touch but the $1,000 price tag to upgrade will be going to headers or a nice projector headlight.... I really like the sub box though. Great work sir.
  12. I switched the headlight pin on my truck that has Canadian DRL that cannot be turned off. Now in daylight, the parking lamp comes on when I start the vehicle.
  13. For the reverse lights, I used a piece of wire, not a diode so they come on in reverse, or when I turn the cargo light on.
  14. How much for the headlights? I want to upgrade to a projector headlight but OEM is pretty expensive.
  15. I guess I was lucky this last winter when I visited a buddy in Erie, PA. Driving on those back hilly snow coverd roads with huge ditches required all the light I could throw at it, until the lake effect snow came in. In the metro Detroit area people drive with their lights on, last night a ford with pods by the a pillar, led factory fog location, and some steer horns on the hood ... it wasnt blinding because he had everything pointed down.
  16. Tonight was my first time with them, wow, what a huge improvement. I couldn't tell if my fog lights were on or off before, now it's very noticeable. I think they are a tad high but maybe you should try adjusting your up a bit? The light thrown to the sides is a much greater. Tonight was my first time with them, wow, what a huge improvement. 17. I like the hood deflector, what brand?
  18. It is the light up bowtie. It's more blue than I expected, almost the same color as the bowtie. The box says 5500k, I might ask the retrofit source about this. What I know for sure is I need to do something with the headlights.
  19. Left work a little early and got it done last night. It took me a lot longer because I was fighting with that lower chrome skid plate. Even after removed the 10 7mm bolts I couldnt get it to completly clip in, GRRR. The fogs went easy, just lots of bolts, but all easy to access.
  20. I figured I would also try and install the front chrome lower skid plate. I didn't have any luck getting the new one to clip in.
  21. Correct, they look similar to OEM. $200 shipped, mine should be here today. http://www.morimotohid.com/chevrolet-square-morimoto-xb-led.html
  22. The first day I removed the air damn a buddy at work and he pointed out two tabs are visible from the side almost imminently. I did mean the smaller chrome piece by the tow hooks. It's not terrible, one 7mm bolt on the top was tough, but I just can't get the tabs on the top to clip in. I'm going to try this week when I get my Morimoto fog lights with the bumper removed.
  23. Looks sharp. Did you bend the tabs up from where the front air damn was bolted? I have a Reg Cab short bed with fox 2.0 2'' lift and I can see the tabs but didn't notice them in your pictures. Did you install that front lower skid plate? I struggled with mine, still haven't been able to get all the clips installed.
  24. Tried installing the chrome lower bumper skid plate last night without any luck... The top clips in with one 7mm bolt, but even with a helper I cannot get it to clip in. The silver OEM one went back on without any problems. I decided to order some moremoto xb fogs today and try again with the bumper removed.
  25. Are you still running stock tires? After I installed fox 2.0 front and rear, I got new tires the following day, 33'' goodyear duratracks. The fox helped on the very bumpy road that would normally cause the truck to skip like on washboard dirt road, but the new tires softened everything. It's still harsh for my liking but overall much better.
