  1. I have read elsewhere that if it's all the way down near the blower, you have to take apart a good amount of dash to get to it. If you have a vacuum with a long hose, you could try to slip that down the air duct to suck out any leaves or other items. For others who have not yet changed their filter, I took a plastic cutting board sheet and trimmed it to 9" wide, then used that to catch items that would have otherwise fallen down the air duct as I took out the filter.
  2. That's a hell of a rub. What size wheels do you have? I have the stock 20" AT wheels and 305/50R20 tires and I rub the UCA, but not as bad as yours seem to be.
  3. Tenscourts, I read your post about your dual battery setup, but I'd like to understand how your particular setup operates. If I understood correctly, you are running loads off the second battery, but that those loads are only powered when RAP is on. If that's the case, you can't power the OEM loads with the second battery (such as radio), and you have to have the key on to run the second battery loads. Wouldn't this be draining each battery (aux loads on second, RAP loads on main)? It would be great if you could post how you're using your setup, and a sketch would be helpful as well.
  4. Should be related to the centerline of the wheel/tire assembly, not the wheel/tire center of gravity (they are not necessarily the same).
  5. If you had to guess, would a 1" or 1.25" spacer require trimming of studs to fit?
  6. High Beams Off: Fog switch functions normally High Beams On: Fog lights always on, Fog switch operates light bar If that's the functionality you want, then you could do the following. I'm assuming the fog switch is actually a pulse (active low or active high). - Use Gen5DIY harness to keep fogs on with High Beams, with the add-on high-beam trigger option (or some other way to get the status of the high beams, like directly off the stalk?) - Tap into the fog switch output upstream of the BCM. - Make a circuit with a D-type flip flop using the high beam trigger as the Enable input and the fog switch signal as the Data input. It would be cheap to do (other than the Gen5DIY harness) but it would be pretty tedious.
  7. I feel ya. I was pretty much sold on the Westin HDX or HDX Xtreme, but then I was thinking that the angular style wasn't the best for the Sierra, and maybe it worked better on a Silverado or Wrangler... but then I see pictures again and second guess. If I pick up a pair of the Ranch Hand steps I'd get matte finish; not sure about 2 steps or 3 though. HDX on Sierra: HDX on Silverado: HDX on Wrangler: And another pic of the Ranch Hands just for fun:
  8. Funny story... yesterday on my way into work, I saw a truck with some really good looking step bars, so I pulled a U-turn and tracked him down to a Chik-Fil-A drive through... I slowly went past him and saw "Ranch Hand" on a giant nameplate. I searched on here and found the exact post you quoted. I've been seeing (just looked a bit yesterday) the 2 step per side version for $500 and the 3 step per side for $600. ChaseN has some white ones for sale here: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/194743-ranch-hand-steps Says he's selling because it makes his truck look low. I agree in those pics. Maybe because it's white? Anyway his pics gave me pause, as well as the price being a bit higher than other options (Westin HDX). Still may get them though.
  9. Pretty sure that's jonboy77's truck.
  10. The 305/55R20 Terra Grappler G2 specs out as about 1/2" taller but a little over 1/16" more narrow than the 33/12.50 Ridge Grappler. Pretty close.
  11. Do you think the second-highest level would fit a Nitto 33x12.5R20 (actually specs at 32.76") on stock 20" wheels?
  12. I'm having my truck tuned Saturday... I'm wondering if I should try to do this before I have it tuned. I currently have stock manifolds and cats mated to a Corsa cat back.
  13. Looks good. I didn't hook up my drain tubes but if I have water issues I will.
  14. This progression is still a bit unclear to me - how did you manage to get the guts rolled up and pulled out? Did you have the cat gutted or did you have it removed altogether?
  15. So the 6 clamps, the hold-down hand nuts, strut bars, and clips were not included? I bet Bakflip will send them out fast, I've heard a lot of good things about their service; I personally haven't had to ask them for anything (yet?). Edit: and the weather strip for the bulkhead...
  16. I chose the MX4 for the tailgate closing ability and the hard matte low profile appearance. I got some water in it yesterday, but that was after some aggressive washing/spraying at the tailgate area. We are having a lot of rain / storms / even tornadoes so I'll check back after the next heavy rain and let you know if anywhere else besides the tailgate leaks. My local truck accessories shop had mini (approx 2ft x 1ft) scale working models on display for about 6 options, including both of these. Maybe you can find something similar to compare them.
  17. Perfect, thanks! Now if only Nitto would release their Ridge Grapplers in 33x12.50R20 (or 295-55, etc).
  18. Paging Dodgersfan... Dodgersfan can confirm, but based on the install video, it's held in place at the front via a pair of hand-tightened fasteners. Should be no problem to fold it up, loosen those, and remove the cover (leaving the rails). Edit: Why does the MX4 need a drain? I would have expected that on a roll-up that fits into a box, but not a flat cover. (bear in mind I haven't seen mine in person yet) Install vid:
  19. I've read this thread and the wheel/tire thread, but haven't found exactly what I'm lookin for... Anyone have 5100s only and running 33x12.5x20 Toyos? If so, how bad is the rub?
  20. Try putting some stiffer wire on each diode lead, then strain relieve / tape / heat shrink it all to make a single jumper. Like this but with only a single red lead: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8090/8462645433_9d9ae0a3e5_b.jpg
  21. That was me - I just ordered the MX4 today, mostly due to your comment about taking care of the vinyl. I can always change if I need to down the road. I could always try both and sell the one I like less, assuming there's not a huge loss in value from being lightly used. I just ordered the MX4, but I'd still like to hear your thoughts on the Revolver X2 for sure.
  22. Sounds interesting - post pics after you finish for sure.
  23. That's my plan on the OEM 20" AT wheels. DYC has black aerosols for $7 (https://www.dipyourcar.com/collections/original-solid-color/products/plasti-dip-black) or dark gray aerosols for under $4 (https://www.dipyourcar.com/collections/original-solid-color/products/plasti-dip-dark-grey). I'm going to budget 1 can per wheel.
  24. Good read, thanks! Any chance you've seen a Revolver X2 and can offer any comparison notes? I'm on the fence between the Revolver and the MX4. I like the Revolver in its "rolled up" form... and it's nice that it doesn't block the entire rear window... but that MX4 looked like a beast even before I read your post. Also I've heard that roll-ups are difficult in cold / icy winters.
  25. I wouldn't think you would need a CAN LED for reverse or cargo lights. Diode Dynamics did this on a 2015 just using normal LEDs.
