  1. Willing to bet your battery is actually bad. I’ve seen a few of reports of premature battery replacement here due to bad cells. You’ll get all kinds of crazy glitches with it.
  2. Yeah, here I can get it direct to my door. Usually use Outdoor Limited or Target Sports USA. Free shipping on a case so there is no other costs involved. Personally, something like 9mm that was costing me 13 cents a round to load as I wanted them, I was happy to pay a few cents more each and just have it done. If I could cast my own bullets and still have reliable ammo, that would have helped a lot on the cost per round and made it worth the effort. Unfortunately I am just not there yet in the free time and skill level departments. Nevertheless, I focused on doing a ton of .380 and .45 last year. And that has paid off just fine in light of today’s prices.
  3. Bummer. As others have said, it’s just a really tough time to get started because people are seeing the value in reloading right now. When 9mm ammo was 16 cents a round last year, nobody could give a crap about reloading it. Myself included, I stopped doing it and focused on other calibers. Now we sit at $1.00 a round and that is another story. The ammo auctions on Gun Broker are unbelievable. Guys are making a good living off the panic. And the first time owners who bought a pistol but don’t have two bullets to rub together.
  4. Another find today. Since I am just about out of powder and primers I figured I’d grab two boxes. Just happened to be one of my favorite loads, Fiocchi 142gr. $24.99 a box used to be expensive, now it’s a bargain. I’ve had the most luck popping into stores in the late morning/ early afternoon. By the evening, everything is gone. And any place that doesn’t have some kind of limit is a waste of time. One jackass will come in and clear their entire shipment within minutes. I’ve seen them pull 1000 round cases right off the pallet and into their cart. The thrill of the hunt is fun but I try to be considerate and not buy anything I don’t really need. I’ve passed on a lot of 10mm, 45, 44, lately because I have loaded enough of it, don’t shoot it a lot, and/ or the price was just not favorable. Good luck.
  5. I give. If anyone wants to line up their Ram “Big Horny” or “Long-horny” editions I’m open to a friendly drag race any time. I’m sure there’s some 5.3 owners who would also like their odds too based on what’s been posted from both sides of the argument. ?
  6. Pot, meet kettle. You cherry picked the one test of a 6.2 in magazine history that was 6 seconds or above, and even the magazine knew it’s bunk with their disclaimer. I can post a half dozen other road tests that prove that. As far as the 10 speed part, I was simply correcting your inaccurate statement. You stated the 2019 5.3 trucks had the 10 speed. They didn’t.
  7. And only 90k a piece. ? If I had money for those I’d probably skip right over them and rig up a cig boat with the Merc QC4Vs at 1750hp a piece instead. Have to overhaul them every 25 hours but who cares.
  8. Also, on the MT tests, neither of those 5.3 trucks are a 10 speed. 10 speed became standard on TB for 2020 and still isn’t available on RST unless paired with the 3.0 or 6.2. I don’t really want my dog in this fight, just putting the facts out there. ?
  9. Even better. And hey, I’ll even be nice and allow the Tundra to use the excellent 10 speed trans in my fantasy truck world. Tell you what, I wouldn’t sleep on the Tundra if it had more than a 6 speed. When it came out it was one of, if not the quickest truck available. I don’t care about the rest of those Motor Trend results just posted, but even Hellen Keller could drive a 6.2 to 60 in less than 6 seconds. I believe there was some kind of remark in the MT article that it was hotter than piss on test day, but I don’t care to dig around. I regularly rip off 5.5-5.7 second runs and have hit 5.4 once. And that’s on the street, not a track where they test everything for magazines.
  10. If we are going to create combos that don’t exist in the real world to make things fair for the Hemi, I want the Ram’s 3.92s for my 6.2. ?
  11. Yeah. The I6 Verados are cool and all, but their new ProXS V8s with sport mode exhaust...they make all the right noises. Think they top out at *just* 300hp though. Also way too expensive for me anyway!
  12. Nice, you'll love the 350 MAG MPI. I had a pair in my old boat. Bulletproof, but thirsty bastards. Better than carb-ed but not by much. I’m an outboard guy now but I do miss the soundtrack. Loved their little idle lope, there’s nothing like a good tree-fiddy. IMG_5796.MOV
  13. Here in the salt I find a quality 304 stainless catback to be a good investment. Especially if you plan to keep the truck 5+ years. I have done plenty of simple muffler swaps in the past and it’s not long before stuff starts rusting and looks like ass. I buy new trucks to avoid that crap. But if a muffler delete or swap can be done cleanly and with quality parts, I don’t see a problem. That is, aside from the trial and error involved to avoid drone.
  14. GM used HSS extensively on the K2s of 6 years ago, whoop-de-do. They were lighter than the Ram then, and are now. A very low optioned Ram Laramie with bench seat and no sun roof weighs 300lbs more than my LTZ with a sun roof and every other option. That’s not even an apples to apples, it’s actually skewed in the Ram’s favor and still we get that result. From where I sit, it looks like FCA spent the bulk of their money on the interior development, and made the compromise in using mostly traditional materials to save cash. It’s heavier not only because of it’s equipment level, but because of it’s construction. The Ram’s compromise seems to have paid off in the short term. But GM has the better bones to build off of with the 2022 refresh. And the 2021 F150 also shows you can have the goodies without growing obese. The nice thing is we benefit from competition and get to pick what’s most important to us when we shop! There’s no wrong answers.
  15. Modern materials. Did I not just suggest they make their own carbonpro bed? Or aluminum on more than just a tailgate? They left a lot on the table with the new architecture, that's my only point. They left body heavy and the powertrain old (aside from the consolation E-Torque that nobody can tell is there). F150 has a pano roof and massaging seats, weighs 500lbs less.
  16. Small pistol primers would be money if you can find ‘em. They’ll get your 9mm operation running, and if you have any .45 brass made by Federal (Blazer, Speer, etc), those use SPP too. Pissed me off when they started doing that because it added a new sorting step. But depending on what .45 brass you have on hand, and what primers you can find, it might work to your advantage.
  17. Watched the SpaceX launch. All the while Elon ruminates over his 4 identical Covid tests that didn't give the same result. ? Very cool. Looked to be cruising around 27000 KM/H right before, and during orbit.
  18. Not even any of those calibers available here anymore. Only pistol caliber I’ve seen lately is .32 auto. And nobody needs that. .40 was the last to run dry here. Almost thought of buying some and a police trade-in Glock 22 or 23 to match. Kinda happy I avoided that trap because I would have also bought the .357 SIG and 9mm conversion barrels, upgraded sights, etc etc. Before you know it, the cheap surplus gun becomes just another expensive toy to hide from the wife.
  19. Even if the tire was the same, it’s not like they ever gave you a rim that matches the others. Save for the steel work truck wheels of years ago.
  20. Yes it takes the place of the storage. Install took me about an hour and a half. Nothing too difficult but running wiring is always time consuming.
  21. Midway sometimes runs free hazmat promos, always a good time to load up. Of course there’s nothing to buy from them at the moment anyway. As Bash said, your best bet at this point is to keep an eye out at local stores and hope to get lucky. Bass Pro and Cabela’s do sell primers in addition to the smaller shops. Think the main hang up is that the ammo makers are taking up all the primers for production. I’ve been putting my time in at the places that don’t gouge. Primers have so far eluded me, but I am grabbing little things here and there. Found some M855 at pre-Covid prices yesterday. It’s out there folks.
  22. In the volume trims they are better than before. But if you load them up, it still dwindles away to nothing. Ram Limited had an as-tested payload of 990 pounds. A loaded to the max Denali is still over 1400 pounds. I know the Ram is better equipped and rides better but they still need to trim some fat.
  23. The HDs don’t leak nearly as often, for what it’s worth. There’s been a few but it’s not like the half tons, where it’s basically a guarantee. I have no issues with a steel bed on the T1s. The carbonpro is basically a solution in search of a problem. Maybe it’s something Ford should offer instead, since their tin can beds are so easy to puncture. Ram should also consider it too, cut some weight off that pig and give it a decent payload again.
  24. GM does not give two ****** about what’s posted on YouTube, or this forum. Look around, there’s threads with complaints spanning three model years. You simply have to find one of our country’s 1.3 million lawyers to get their attention.
  25. The poor ride definitely exacerbated the flex in the structure, at least in the eyes of that reviewer. But it’s still two separate issues. Personally, I do not think my 19 is that bad. The max trailering package and Bilsteins really help. Also, GM did use new springs for the 2020MY to address some of the ride issues. My ‘16 still felt more secure over rough crossings and didn’t have that rattling feeling throughout the cabin. It was probably close to the same weight as my 19 since it had less options. But it felt much heavier and more solid.
