  1. Seems he has his heart set on the LT Trail Boss; diesel isn’t available. 5.3 or 6.2, both with 10 speed and 3.23s. Either one would be an upgrade from the 5.3 6 speed, but I’d go 6.2 or skip up to the HD if I was towing that a lot.
  2. The front and top look identical to the pickup version. But where’s the vents on that console? Doesn’t look like there are any? Wouldn’t it drive ya nuts having a non-functional control back there?
  3. New Tahoe / Suburban I would imagine. Maybe taken out for police use or something? The Silverado and Sierra don’t have 3 zone climate controls. The back of the jump seats just have vents, and power outlets. The higher trims with consoles have heated seat buttons too. But no climate controls.
  4. Suspension was retuned for the 2020 model year. There’s a thread someplace here that showed different part numbers on the rear springs from 2019 to 2020, even with the same suspension packages on each example. I haven’t heard anything about the 2021 suspension being changed again.
  5. How in the world is the S-10 still on there? I haven’t seen one of those around here in ages.
  6. Of course. I did the doors and some of the floor. Mainly to chase down some rattles I had. The doors are pretty well deadened from the factory but I added Dynamat in select places, and Dynaliner on the backs of the door panels. Nothing hard, just time consuming.
  7. The SLT I had for a courtesy truck was definitely quieter, but it’s far from apples to apples between that and my LTZ. 22”s and a 6.2 with intake and catback VS a 5.3, stock and 20s. The GMC and Chevy are also very different aerodynamically and that might have some effect on the wind noise. I dunno. I’d need more samples to compare. Some of the internet rumors over the years about the GMCs having thicker glass, this and that...just not true. I’m sure the marketing guys don’t mind that stuff floating around though.
  8. The Old 350 diesel is a very bad diesel, but the block is great for a bulletproof gas conversion. With all the meat around the cylinders and stout bottom end, you can build a HUGE bulletproof small block out of it. They also used to sell just a top end kit that converted it to gas. You could even do it with the engine installed. We had an 81 Buick Lesabre and a Olds 98 that both had that engine. My dad swapped both of them for gassers in no time. You could get those otherwise nice cars really cheap for obvious reasons.
  9. They sure won’t preemptively tear apart and swap springs on every engine on the lot. Have you seen the window thread? Deal with it when it fails is the name of the game.
  10. The update from a month or two ago was for 2020 models with the uplevel infotainment. IOR doesn’t use the same software or get the same updates.
  11. Don’t feel too bad, everyone with a 19 and a 20 got the shaft on wireless CarPlay too. Dealers are supposed to perform all updates before delivery. So I’m not sure, but it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s the latest there is. Once they got the bugs out in 2019, they haven’t really changed anything or added features on the base infotainment. The uplevel infotainment got XM360L for 2020 and wireless CarPlay for 2021, so those have been frequently updated.
  12. For sheer longevity...my 1990 Accord. 301,000 miles, and everything, even the clutch, was original! If Honda made a full size pickup I wouldn’t be here. ? For a car I actually loved to drive, I’ll throw another LT1 out there, 1996 Camaro SLP SS. Have spent the last 5 years trying to track it down to buy it back. They were numbered cars but unfortunately the trail has gone cold. May buy a similar one just to have before the prices skyrocket. LS1 is definitely the better motor but there’s a omething about the look of these, vs the 1998-02s.
  13. I dunno but the front calipers on these trucks have a big hump that causes a lot of problems with aftermarket wheels.
  14. Yup. Same as everyone else.
  15. Very nice. Love the Northsky blue. Enjoy.
  16. Gotta love getting a $15k crap box in exchange for your $60k truck.
  17. Least you got an Enclave. They gave me an Encore. Little clown car. ?
  18. When I get into a 90s GM, I feel like I’m sitting in a garbage bag. The plastics are some of the cheapest, blandest looking crap I’ve ever seen. While everything is functional, GM made their reputation of crappy interiors in the 90s and still haven’t fully shaken it.
  19. A blower and a window that doesn’t leak.
  20. They aren’t the greatest thing in the world but I get along fine on the 22” Alenzas. If I did anything, I would buy some 18” take offs and run them for winter. But I don’t.
  21. Made it without incident and oil pressure intact. It’s dripping off the skid plate. Guessing oil cooler or line but they can’t look at it until tomorrow. Not trying to hijack with my own calamities but I did think it was pathetic and kinda funny to have the thing leaking in two places at once. Oh well. ? What I’ve read in the last page has almost talked me out of trading for a 2022. Just sayin, GM...
  22. Added an oil leak to my window leak. Going for the 2019 hat trick I guess. Off to the dealer. Hopefully the line will hold another 20 miles.
  23. Same as the gassers, 5 years. So if you aren’t gonna do more than 12k miles a year it makes no difference.
  24. Only 56 pages? Rookies.?
