  1. I was gonna say, god forbid you would ever have replace the window after using that stuff. It takes the gelcoat and fiberglass with it when you finally break it free on boats. 4200 might be a better option. The seam sealer they use per the TSB is actually a fairly stout product. Think the main issue is the person applying it. A janky, broken substrate doesn’t help either.
  2. Coming up on a year with mine, no issues, no water damage. Run through high pressure wash sometimes twice a week.
  3. I stand corrected. Wonder why they dropped in size? Maybe that’s all that’s available in that tire model? Seems odd that the factory lifted trucks have shorter tires than my normal 4x4.
  4. The Duratracs are 275-65r18, so around 32” I doubt they changed tire sizes. So assuming these new wheels carry the same size tire as the old 2019-2020 20” wheel option, they would be 275-60r20 (33”)
  5. Very nice. Sounds identical to my GM performance. But I think we already established they were the same catback by a different name.
  6. Guy on the FB group has them. First one I’ve seen in the “real world”. Very nice. Looks like they are also on this Realtree edition: https://gmauthority.com/blog/2020/01/this-is-the-2021-chevrolet-silverado-realtree-edition/amp/
  7. Yup. And no, solid windows don’t leak, and neither do the spoilers on solid window trucks, oddly enough. Almost like it’s never the spoiler even when the dealer says it is. ? Haven’t looked too hard at the solid window but I doubt it even has a frame. There would be no reason to have one. I will maintain that there needs to be a bigger change than just the window frame or they would have done it by now.
  8. Yes, they are built to a price (a price many already find too high). But I don’t think the quality has gotten a whole lot worse. The complexity definitely keeps going way up. And with it, potential faults and gremlins. And less time to work them out with these crazy product cycles. Either way, I can’t imagine walking into a Ram or Ford dealer and expecting much better.
  9. Yeah, seems like the only appreciable e-torque benefit noted in reviews is the start/stop feature. I guess it works very smooth since it can take off on the electric motor while the gasser starts up again. I would definitely prefer that to the GM system. Or nothing at all. 6.4 would be cool but I bet that thing would be a gas hog from hell.
  10. Good thought on doing something more on the inside of the frame. I don’t drive the wheels off of my trucks but if I did, that seems like a no brainer. Also don’t neglect the rockers and fender lips. You can pull all the rubber plugs and either fog with Fluid Film or cavity wax. Get the long hose with the 360 deg nozzle and go to town. Here in WI, the body disappears before the frame ever would. At least we don’t hafta worry about the doors anymore.
  11. Lot of people don’t even notice the window leak if minor, so what leaks and what actually gets repaired is not the same number. Of course dealers enjoy down-playing everything too. As far as production location; doesn’t matter. All of the early trucks (mine included) were built in Ft Wayne and they are absolutely the worst, near 100% guaranteed to leak. Things have gotten better since, but even today we’ve seen plenty of trucks from both plants leaking. It’s a defective part, doesn’t seem to matter who installs it. Not worth losing sleep over or checking daily, but the leak is always a possibility. 171 pages of leaks across 3 model years in the window thread proves that.
  12. Drive-thru is the only application of the T1’s start/stop feature that I like. I can get two full auto stop cycles per visit in cooler weather.
  13. Slow, steady rain is the trigger. My window leaks again currently. But I can go through the high pressure car wash without a drip. Rainfall? That’ll do it.
  14. Well, at least in the states you can build one with the bench. Again, not saying it’s a common configuration or anything. And really beside the point. Still surprised at model year #3, Ram hasn’t done anything in the powertrain dept besides the TRX. Is there any rumors of anything in the pipeline? I thought for sure they would be doing something within a few years of introduction. Unusual move to stick with the same powertrains and outputs in such a competitive market.
  15. You can get a Laramie with a bench, I didn’t pull those numbers out of thin air, it’s a real vehicle owned by a real person who posted their capacities on the Ram forum. They self described it as low option, bench seat, and no sun roof. Build and price confirms it’s possible, although probably not common. People on the site also calculated the weight of all popular options. Some are not as heavy as one may think. Air suspension adds only 34lbs. Pano roof 70lbs. E-torque is 80. Ram boxes are very heavy, 163lbs. Advanced Safety Group is 50. These numbers are extrapolated off the reduction of payload capacity for each. https://5thgenrams.com/community/threads/please-post-your-tire-and-loading-sticker.374/ I had a good enough idea of what the Ram’s weigh to make the fair assessment that I did. A Ram with less features than my truck weighs 300lbs more, therefore it is always going to be at a weight disadvantage in any fair comparison. Fair means taking into account and matching the equipment levels of each truck as much as possible. As far as the two speed transfer case, I would say most trucks actually have it. Yes it comes with Z71 / X31 which is immensely popular, but it’s also standard with the 6.2 no matter what, standard on Denali, etc. My payload is 1914lbs and curb weight 5386, FWIW. I viewed the new Ram with an open mind back in 2018 when I started shopping. Not a hater. Just calling a spade a spade. It’s a heavier truck no matter what. I also personally didn’t feel the E-Torque was enough of a powertrain change. It’s running the same 5.7 since 2009 and the same 8 speed since 2013. I know where they spent the money and where they didn’t. Nothing wrong with it, just didn’t align with my wants and needs.
  16. Good tip. Might give that a shot. It’s either that or I go on a diet. Mine gets a little creaky in winter.
  17. The 2019 owner’s starter pack. A booster pack and a cheap code reader. ? Also stick my infrared thermometer in there that I use to check trailer hubs.
  18. Yes. “Big”. Truck needs to have the card reader present to be nav capable. Not all 8” infotainment has the card reader. Easiest way to check is to look for the reader. On trucks without console, it’s on the same piece that has the USB ports on the lower dash. Console trucks have the reader in the console USB piece.
  19. Was that ever the game plan? Never heard anything about it.
  20. Very unlikely it’s just the spoiler or brake light leaking, IMO. If those were common areas of leaks, how come nobody in 169 pages has had those leaks with a solid rear window truck? They all have the spoiler, but somehow only trucks with the slider make it into this thread. Says it all, right? Not aware of any TSB aside from the one telling them to caulk your window frame.
  21. Wouldn't it turn off rear park assist / cross traffic alert if it thinks there’s a trailer connected? Anytime I hook up to my 19 I get messages in the DIC that those are disabled.
  22. I’m surprised they are even replacing the window. Thought they had to dick you around with the caulk-job first.
  23. Can’t swap the shocks on a Denali, adaptive ride control. I guess it’s normal for people to not like the low front end. Personally, I like my CV axles to not blow up and I like being level when I am hitched up so I leave ‘em alone. If I did anything I would put on a proper quality lift. Just my 2 cents.
  24. Willing to bet your battery is actually bad. I’ve seen a few of reports of premature battery replacement here due to bad cells. You’ll get all kinds of crazy glitches with it.
  25. Yeah, here I can get it direct to my door. Usually use Outdoor Limited or Target Sports USA. Free shipping on a case so there is no other costs involved. Personally, something like 9mm that was costing me 13 cents a round to load as I wanted them, I was happy to pay a few cents more each and just have it done. If I could cast my own bullets and still have reliable ammo, that would have helped a lot on the cost per round and made it worth the effort. Unfortunately I am just not there yet in the free time and skill level departments. Nevertheless, I focused on doing a ton of .380 and .45 last year. And that has paid off just fine in light of today’s prices.
