  1. I peeked under my dash this morning just to see if I could do anything...I was able to loosen the 10mm nuts, but could not move the bracket. It was difficult due to stitches in my right palm and left thumb, so maybe it's just because I couldn't get a good grip on it. I even tried to slip a piece of painter's stick, but could not get it to go behind the bracket...hence I tried to remove the bracket. So...are there other nuts/bolts that need to be removed to get in the back of the bracket? Seems like everyone is just slipping washers and pieces of wood behind the bracket, but I don't see how that can be done. I even lost a piece of wood behind the bracket, it fell down behind and I have no idea where it went...LOL! Stitches come out next week Tues, so I plan on trying again, just not sure about removing the bracket. I was going to pm you, but hopefully others that may be lurking will benefit from your answer. On another note, did your wipers pick up the wax from your windshield? I watched that vid as well, heck I drink apple cider vinegar with water in the morning as a wake up drink, makes a good tea! LOL!! I used to do that back in the 90's on my cars, but eventually the wipers start to pick up the wax and starts skipping along the windshield. Haven't tried the Rain-X yet though.
  2. I haven't heard of this. but now that I'm out from under a rock, Ill need to check this out! however, Ill need to wait for my trigger finger surgery on both hands to heal...boy this is not easy to type!! Nice vid on your exhaust!
  3. Yeah I read the manual, and when it said "heated mirrors if equipped" and didn't see a button, I assumed I did not have that feature. I guess I should have read about the rear defroster. Just glad you mentioned it in your post/directions.
  4. Wait! What! I have heated mirrors and didn't know it! Is this the same for a RCSB? Sheesh...I rarely use my rear window defrost, so maybe that's why I never noticed it. Great Videos! You are such an asset to this Forum, YouTube and many others like me that do not have a clue!
  5. So I assume it must bolt up under radiator somewhere? Is it a single piece or a two piece?
  6. Hmm...I don't have pp, I had issues with them & ebay and haven't used them. Does he take any other form of payment? Is it painted, or raw? What modification are you doing to it? Isn't this the one you have on your truck in the pic?
  7. So how do I get one of these? This puts a very nice touch on a lowered truck!
  8. Do you have a p/n and write up on the mirrors? The heated stuff would come in handy for me in the winter, beats driving with gloves. There's been a few mornings here that were in the 30's, and although that may not seem cold to a lot of people, coming from Hawaii, it's freezing to me! Working on your audio? So what kind of exhaust are you getting...LOL!
  9. Did you do his heated steering wheel, lite/folding outer mirrors and heated seats? I'd like to add these to my truck...especially the heated stuff. Do you have any write ups on these?
  10. Can't wait to read about your motor stuff and when your suspension if final.
  11. Can't blame you for stopping on your truck...I would too! Nice Vette! Did your wife choose the color? I would have thought it'd be white!
  12. Excellent write up! However, looking at your list of mods, I see there are a lot more write ups to be done...LOL!
  13. Nice truck and write up qwank! Looks like you take pics at the same gas station huh..LOL!! I love the way your truck sits, perfect height I think. You guys lost me in all the audio install jargon...I'm with grumpy! As for my Audio, I had a custom true dual exhaust installed as well as custom mufflers, unfortunately my neighbors aren't happy with my morning cold start up, or my afternoon drive home...oh well! Can't wait to see that SC installed and whining! Oh...I love your States motto! One of these days I plan on going there to attend a Sig Sauer training class!
  14. Nasty, thanks for directing me to Twisted Metal Workz! Looks like some awesome kits there! So with the dual adj shocks you'll need to weld the relocation mounts? And what is the coilover in the background? I thought that might be a model of the setup, but it looks like a coilover. On the coilover page, is the Universal kit for 4x4? And is this their only front kit? I know it is included with the 4 link kit, but that's the rear suspension...so same for front and rear? It doesn't mention much about the type of control arms needed...I think I have stamped, in their pics it looks like steel (after market). I guess I should give these guys a call when I'm ready, but I'll need to think about this first, since there is welding involved. Does not look like reversing back to stock would be an option...just in case I decide to sell down the road. Also need to search out a good welder...more $$$
  15. Yeah I think a lot of people would like to see that race. Must be John feels the possibility of losing is high, because it would be great publicity for Hennessy.
  16. I thought I saw a YouTube on him calling out Hennessy, but no reply. You would think Hennessy would give it a go, but then again it may be a liability issue being that Hennessy is a business and not just an individual tuner/installer. Not sure, but that's about the only reason I could think of...unless he's afraid he'll get spanked! Definitely not worth the $$$$ to have Hennessy do an install.
  17. Yup, Big Brake Kit. You're correct Nasty, most of the money goes for the plaque. They don't do any internal upgrading, just install a SC.
  18. Just to keep the mods happy, I'll mention that the RCSB are awesome when lowered! I like the look of your rims, but that counters the sleeper look...LOL! Did you notice a big difference with the BBK? I'm a believer in late braking! That kit is much cheaper $$ than the Hennessy option, and better at balancing the HP/Wallet ratio! Has the lowering affected your 4wheel or AWD in any way? You'll need to start a new thread once that SC is installed because there will be a lot of questions from others. Looking forward to hear the outcome of that install!
  19. Thanks for the info, your opinion is appreciated...I'll check them out
  20. Thanks for the quick feedback...I remember you saying to go with spindles, but that's about all I remembered...LOL! Is there a "kit" out there that has what you mentioned, or would it need to be pieced together? Belltech?
  21. Thanks for the info, I'll have to look into that kit. I was just on the lowering thread and asked Nasty for his opinion on a kit as well. Are your rims 20" or larger to fit the BBK? Your truck looks menacing! I'm looking more for the sleeper look though...catch the unsuspecting Pony....LOL! SC install is on my list down the road and I think that would be ultimate. I was looking at Hennessy's pkg, but for the cost the hp gain didn't seem balanced, then again they're a business, so the high price is expected...just too high for me. What would be your hp gain with your SC?
  22. Nasty...You seem to know your stuff with these suspensions, in your experience/opinion, what kit would be best to handle the twisties? I don't want to slam my truck down to the grass, but I do want to lower it to gain a lower CG and better handling, but still be able to handle weight in the back to move items like a washer, refrigerator etc. nothing really heavy though. So many options out there and so many good looking trucks, but I'm looking more for performance than looks, and if I can get both then that's a plus!
  23. Nice Truck! What lowering kit did you install and does it affect your turning radius? Is that a BBK you installed or painted calipers? The rotors look large! And most important, how is the handling on twisties?
  24. I believe he knows the AFR because he hooked up his lappy to my truck and downloaded the parameters of my truck on 93 prior to doing any tuning. He then asked what I wanted and tuned the truck to my request. He also asked what mods I had installed so he could get the maximum bang from them through tuning. I believe he probably does it the way you do/would...not sure though since I don't know what/how you do your tune. The nice thing is he has all the info he needs on my truck and can send me tunes for whatever mod I install as I provide the info on the mod. At least that's how I believe he does it...and its way more than just a "feel good" tune. I have been running my truck at 50/50 for the past 2 years and it still runs as strong as ever. Maybe you should contact them if you need more info on what/how they do things...not sure if it'll be shared, but it might be worth a try. Not trying to sound like an asshat, but just trying to answer your question as best as I know how. Just saw a vid on EFI University, I'm thinking of doing an online course, and then a hands on course as I get a better understanding of how EFI tuning is done...providing my old brain can keep up!
