Thanks for the tips Woody! Can you confirm it is a 4x6 speaker back there?

What have you done to your K2 today?

On sale for $1300.00 and the phone mirroring is far more useful than the CarPlay was IMO. -

I'm not too fond of those either as they really don't fit into the otherwise nearly factory looking design (if they weren't there I bet most would think it was a factory unit) -

This unit does not require any dash cutting so you can easily go back to stock however if you go with a standard double din headunit you will have to cut the rails that hold the factory module in the dash. -

Thanks and it does not have Android Auto or CarPlay however it does have HDMI input so you can mirror your phone/tablet without the limitations of those (you can play Netflix, YouTube or any other video app) -
Having the same issue down here.

Thanks and that turkey was funny until I found he scratched the truck! ? So far I just leveled the rear but eventually I will go a bit lower (I can see how some 4x4 guys might see it as blasphemy to lower a 4x4 but I would do it anyway! ?)

Hey Woody! You first have to pop off the rear wall panel, front kick panel and sill plate which are one piece. There is a pin in the back wall that is hidden by the back panel (push the center in and then pull it out with your finger nail) and then it pops off. I only use the rears for ambient fill so I will make an adapter for a 4" mid (once tuned I will not be able to "hear" the rear speaker location). If you are using the rears for more of a surround type sound you could just use a 3 1/2" or 4" coaxial (can't remember the last time I used a small coaxial like that so I wouldn't know what is good)

From what I read there is a 4x6 there Woody and the grill appears to be part of the panel but I haven't removed it yet (I did have the back panel as well as rear wall carpet out and can confirm there is an airbag behind the side panel). I'll pop it off as soon as the rain stops and will post some pics.

They do move with the steering wheel but you can also adjust each line separately side to side and front to back (it has red closest to the tailgate, yellow in the middle and green furthest away). It also has a fully adjustable line in the middle that you can center on your trailer hitch. When I first installed this the red guideline left me about 2 feet from my garage door when I backed in but I was able to adjust it so I was only about 6 inches away when the red line hit the door. -

The kit comes with the trim pieces on the side of the screen and the only thing you re use is the heater controls. It is totally plug n play with all harnesses included and although the wiring harness looks like a nightmare it is actually pretty easy to install with absolutely no cutting. You keep your Onstar and WiFi, factory microphone and all functions i.e. Tire pressure monitoring system etc that work through the radio still function with a few added functions. It comes with a separate speaker for the chimes/turn signals that has its own volume control so they won't be loud if you add an amplifier. If you have USB in the glove box that one will work but the hub in the jump seat or console will not. Also, your factory satellite antenna will work with the adapter included but the module you take out has the xm tuner in it so you have to buy the Alpine tuner. Factory backup camera plugs right in (has adjustable guide lnes and trailer guide lines) and you can add up to 3 additional cameras. There is an optional module available that will allow you to control up to 8 aftermarket accessories like a winch, fog lights, power tonneau cover etc directly from the headunit and an hdmi splitter that will allow you to mirror your phone or add other hdmi sources like a Fire TV Stick or rear seat monitors etc. Theres a bunch more I can't think of right now but if you have any specific questions just ask. Alnost forgot, the navigation works well and you can do a split screen with audio and navigation. About the only complaints I have are it will not allow voice commands for the navigation and it's a little slow booting up as well as when switching sources or functions -

Reolaced my IOB 7" with the Alpine x110-slv 10" Restyle kit and added the leather steering wheel with radio controls. Drag is the steering wheel controls didn't work with the idatalink Maestro as I was told by the Alpine tech so I still have to change the BCM. -
Sweet! You can also get a module that will allow you to drop the tailgate directly from the headunit as well as control up to 7 more aftermarket accessories but they ding you about 2 bills extra for that! I'd really like to get the steering wheel controls to work as well (already have the wheel and clockspring installed) so please post back if you find a solution short of taking it to the dealer where I was told it may or may not work.

Photobucket blocked my pictures but you can find the gallery if you go directly to their site. Also, there is another thread in the forum here where a member explained how to add the second relay so it didn't drop when you put the truck in park.
-
It will work with the auto lock kit (the PAC TR7 has numerous programming options) and I'll post a link to my install thread in a minute.
-
That's one of the handiest features I have added and for another 25 bucks or so you can put it to really good use with a remote dropping tailgate.

They were the first ones I messaged (on the weekend as instructed on their site) after reading the thread here on the WT conversion but after several tries with no response I gave up and searched elsewhere. I am not aware of an 11" from Alpine and the new version without DVD has a 9" screen but costs about $700.00 more than the 10" with DVD! (these are discontinued so the price came way down)

Sweet! I chose this version since I'm still old school and wanted the DVD/CD player! One thing I forgot to add is the Alpine tech was incorrect when he told me I just needed to add the correct clockspring and steering wheel with controls since it plugged in right at the clockspring. It didn't work so he told me I needed to re program the idatalink Maestro for a truck that came with steering wheel controls since I originally programmed it for my truck with the IOB radio which did not have the option. The Maestro menu showed that the controls were retained but it still didn't work. I then called idatalink Maestro tech support and he told me it would only work if the truck came with steering wheel controls or if the BCM in my truck had the option of steering wheel controls. A call to Chevy service confirmed the IOB radio does not have a steering wheel control option so it is not programmed into the BCM. He said I could get a VIN # from a truck with the steering wheel controls and get a new BCM but if that truck did not have the other exact equipment mine had there was a possibility other functions would not work! This really bites as I did a ton of research trying to get steering wheel controls and got all excited when the Alpine tech told me it was that easy with this system but hindsight of course now tells me I should have called idatalink first since they are the ones that make the module!
