I just installed the below LED Light bar behind the grill of my 2016 Z71 two weekends ago. I will take some pics and post them later. Install was a breeze, mounted to the bottom rigid plastic shroud around the radiator. Took my 2016 Silverado Double-Cab 4x4 (65K miles) in this morning for the infamous "shake". Driving home from taking my daughter to college on Sunday it got so bad I had to stop to make sure I didn't have a loose tire or something. Long story short, dealer said the Torque Converter has failed, it needs to be replace along with several other parts (know issue with a TSB). Issue is they have another truck with the same issue that has been waiting several weeks for parts. My dealer has been great, providing a loaner, etc. My frustration is with GM, they have a known problem and parts are on an extended back order. Dealer said its covered under my Certified Pre-Owned 100K powertrain warranty, however I won't have "my truck" for several weeks. Filed a complaint with GM they said a Senior Advisor will get back to me and my dealership if they are able to help. I have been a Dodge guy all my life, bought the Silverado in June of 17 with 18K miles, based on this experience guess I will have to look at other brands for my next truck. Sorry to vent.
Going to install a 2” level in my 2016 Double-Cab 4x4 Z71 to then add 285/65/18 or 275/70/18 tires. Looking at both the upper and lower spacers, what is the conscience on which is the better option? The upper coil spacer or the lower strut mount spacer?
After the deep freeze we had in the upper Midwest last week, the passenger side window washer nozzle has stopped working. After the weekend thaw the drivers side worked fine, however the passenger side now only provides a little squirt of fluid and bubbles. Guessing the only way to diagnose is to remove the wiper cowl to inspect the hose for that side possibly replace the nozzle? Anybody know how to remove the cowl and have any other ideas?
Ditto, plumb separate. I installed the Firestone RideRite as well on my 2016, also had them on both my previous Rams with no issues.
Same here. The dealer did a "Human Interface" update 3-weeks ago when the truck was in for service and my connection issue got worse and to top it off the service writer said I should not do any of the updates on my iPhone as that will cause the CarPlay to not connect. I don't use the bluetooth because then the CarPlay won't connect at all. I am using an "Apple" cable as at first they said that was my issue. Frustrated that I am having so may connection issues, guess I am not alone on this one.
Removed from my 2016 Double Cab Silverado to install Tow Mirrors. Power adjust, heated. Mirrors are in great shape. $125 plus shipping for the set. Located in Waukesha, WI (suburb of Milwaukee) if local could arrange to meet rather than ship.
Last week my 2016 5.3 heater blower started ticking so they replaced that, while it was in the shop the tech diagnosed a tick under the hood as well and replaced both the left and right fuel rails i believe, fortunately I was still under warranty. There was a service bulletin for it, when I get home I can pull the info off the service invoice.
Heading to Sturgis this year and towing my dad's 26' toy hauler with (2) bikes. The trailer weights 5,300 lbs empty with the bikes and gear should end up around 7,500 lbs. Thinking about installing the Firestone Ride Rite air bags (link below) in the rear of my 2016 Double-Cab 1500 4x4. Thanks for all the info. Have been pulling my hair out over the lack of consistent CarPlay in my 16 Silverado. Even had the dealer look at id during last service and they said the system was current and "couldn't replicate the problem." Based on the version numbers provided they were wrong. Also glad to hear Apple is opening the infrastructure to allow the other applications in CarPlay.
Recently when using the remote to unlock the doors I noticed that the front passenger door doesn't unlock with the remote key fob. I hit the unlock button once to unlock the driver door than quickly again to unlock all the other doors. All the doors unlock except the front passenger. The lock works fine with the lock/unlock buttons in the truck as well as the auto lock/unlock when putting the truck in gear and then back into Park. The issue only seems to be with the Fob. Any thoughts on this are appreciated, trying to save a trip to the dealer, truck details below. 2016 Silverado LT Z71 Double Cab 5.3L, 4X4
