  1. I have a 2016 5.3L 8 speed transmission. Want to replace the sensor and can't determine if I need the one piece (24046895) or two piece (24297371 & 24298757). Gmpartsgiant.com says that both will fit my truck when I enter my VIN. Is there any way to tell for certain?
  2. Have a 2" leveling kit on the front and what appears to be the stock 1 1/4" block on the back. Would like to raise the back for towing. Tried air bags but they made the truck way too bouncy when hauling, even at the minimal amount of air required to level the truck. If I go with a 2" block can I run the stock rear shocks or do they need to be swapped out. Or should I swap them out anyways? Looking at the Bilstein 5100s but there appear to be two different part #s, 24-285896 and 33-238319, one looks like it is only for a 2" lift and the other for 0 - 2", any benefit to one or the other?
  3. Just had the two codes show up today and just got off the phone with the dealer. My truck (2016 all terrain 5.3L) is not covered. Was looking forward to the release of the "refreshed" 2022 tomorrow but thinking I might start looking at Rams. This truck and transmission is why GMC is the fourth popular truck. Frustrating to say the least that they can f*ck up a transmission so badly and just walk away from it and leave so many people hanging. Rant over..... Is there any programming or calibration that has to happen if I replace the sensor myself? thanks
  4. I just had a dealer tell me they are taking pre-orders for 2022 GMCs. Waiting on confirmation that includes Sierra's. Wish they would release the official photos of the 2022...........
  5. A dealer that I have been talking with says that they are now taking pre-orders on 2022's. Has anyone else heard that? Tempted to pull the trigger but would like to actually see what the truck is going to look like and confirmation that the 2022 will be different than the 2021......
  6. The dealer replaced the vacuum pump assembly under warranty and haven't had any problems since. The paperwork doesn't reference any bulletins.
  7. did some more backing up and going forward, I was incorrect stating that the pedal went all the way to the floor, it does travel a bit but then it won't move any further and braking is very difficult. I guess because it pushed in and then stopped so hard I was thinking it was going all the way to the floor but it isn't. Sounds like it may be a vacuum pump issue? dealer asked if I had any aftermarket modifications, truck has a front leveling kit. Somehow I imagine they will say that caused the issue??....
  8. Searched and didn't find anything on this. Starting today my truck losses braking ability after I put it in reverse. Brakes work fine going forward but after I put the truck in reverse to back into a parking spot the pedal goes to the floor and braking ability is almost non-existent. Have been able to duplicate the problem both of the times I have tried to backup since. Any ideas? 2016 Sierra 1500
