Yep. Just as CamGTP said above, there are multiple instances of them exploding. Frankly, after seeing that, I'm perfectly fine putting my confidence in exceeding the tires speed limit vs. the driveshaft's.
One of the idiotic dealers near me says it's $110 to flash the truck after I install the kit. I told them that it is included in the purchase price and he said "only if they are paid to install it". How can dealers be so clueless? Did you guys have to argue or was your dealer smarter than my dealer?
They are paper-thin aluminum to save weight and they are not up to the task of pool high RPM operation. That's why there is a speed limiter in the first place (well, there are other reasons but that's one).
?. There are no "chips" anymore.....those are so 1995!
Whipple will guide you through it. They will remote tune it and hope it works on your particular truck. Good luck.
I just did the Airaid Jr. on mine. I wanted to keep the stock airbox in place but wanted to get rid of the ugly and restrictive resonator box. Nice and clean-looking tube now.
Talk about putting words in my mouth ?
I didn't say "all GM trucks are perfect and have absolutely zero issues." Speak for yourself.
I CAN speak for myself when I say I gave Dodge way too much of MY hard-earned money for three trucks and I wasn't satisfied with any of them. In fact, it went beyond dissatisfaction - it was outright rage.
Maybe the OP will get a trouble-free Dodge...the three I owned certainly weren't and I feel three of them were a large enough sample to rule out just "bad luck". That's why I wished the OP "good luck".
