  1. I’ll let you figure that one out on your own [emoji6] Sent from Above
  2. The diesel is a much more capable hauling vehicle. I had the 2014 LTZ 5.3 (horrible vehicle) then the LTZ DMax (excellent vehicle for towing) and now much happier with my Lifted SLT 6.2 which has turned out to be the best truck I’ve ever owned out of about 30 units and all were loaded out. The 1500 6.2 is a whole lot better riding than the 2500 and much better at turning radius than the 2500, won’t haul as much but just overall a much more functional, smoother and quieter daily driver. 3. You’re absolutely CORRECT, gotta own one to appreciate it. Sent from Above
  4. You’d be surprised as to how close these 6.2 stay with you considering their weight difference and especially tuned. The 6.2 is GM’s ultimate 1500, that being said, the 5.3 is sufficient in truck duties just not good at max towing on the 1500’s. I once towed 7500#’s travel trailer with my 14 5.3 and I got 3-4 mpgs, towed my buddies car hauler closer to 8000#’s and got 6-7 mpg. It may not seem like much but it does make a difference in arrival time and filling up. I think the Trail Bosses coming in 2020 with the 6.2 is one of the best moves GM has made. I’d be all over one if I wasn’t already in love with my Lifted 18 6.2. Sent from Above
  5. Nitto Ridge Grapplers are awesome tires but from what I’ve heard, they’re not so good in the snow. Mine have approximately 15k miles on them (about ready for a new set lol) with great results, no hydroplaning and great traction in fields while hog hunting. I LOVE the side wall protection, my KO2’s easily showed curb rash but not the Ridge Grapplers. They’re about as loud as the KO2’s on the freeway. KO2’s didn’t do well in the mud at all but are far better than stock. The DuraTracs have horrible reviews once you get over the 10k mile range they get loud and ride really rough. Nitto Ridge Grapplers all the way! These have 15k miles on them. You’ll get sick of them before they wear out lol. Sent from Above
  6. That’s what I had, Grey in color with that soft interior. Loved mine but constantly had issues with the turbo. You should check out insanely fast cars in Europe, a 1.8 scared the crap out of me a few years back, now that’s mega power in a small package Sent from Above
  7. I think the best question would be, would anyone regret getting rid of their 6.2 for a 5.3? My answer: NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN! Sent from Above
  8. I added two gallons of E85 with a full tank of 93 yesterday just for (possibility) cleaning lol Sent from Above
  9. The forum is full of 5.3 issues, much less with the 6.2. No one I know, along with myself has ever had any issues with their 6.2 and yet they’re not on any forum talking about the reliability of their 6.2’s. Lots of made up BS on forums from insecure individuals patting themselves on the back by making crap up about something they don’t have. The majority of people with 6.2 problems are from buying them USED, previously abused and no way of telling that until the unsuspecting buyer comes along. How many people on the forums have nothing else better to do then post modifications of what they’re doing to their used 5.3’s and 6.2’s, full of them, tons! Sent from Above
  10. My reasoning for saying “they don’t build them like they used too” is due to all this electrical crap added to what was once a simple design. Sent from Above
  11. There’s a big difference between the 5.3 and the 6.2, cost is definitely a factor (depending on purchase price) but really just depends on what someone is using the truck for. Running to Home Depot, a 5.3 is great, especially the new lighter one’s. Actually using it for hauling and towing, the 6.2 rises above and is much more capable. One thing that all owners of 6.2’s have in common, along with myself, non have ever regretted buying their 6.2’s and tend to keep them longer as they’re powerful. Depending on what year and EPA restrictions, adding mods will also wake both of them. Sent from Above
  12. OP, to answer your question, YES, I did regret buying the 5.3 instead of the 6.2 back in 2014, got rid of it primarily because competitors where more powerful and it’s an outdated motor when comparing HP to competitors, it always seemed to struggle when I needed it the most. I traded it in a few months later. Buying and owning a 6.2 will give you a much much more powerful vehicle which will make you want to keep it longer, as long as you can afford $5-$10 difference at the pump. Sent from Above
  13. You’ll definitely get MUCH more smiles per mile with the 6.2 only thing is that I was told there are NO tunes available, my 18 doesn’t even have a tune for the 8 speed yet, only the motor. Id highly recommend the 6.2’s but remember, there’s a fuel cost difference and the 6.2 isn’t offered in anything unless you up to the higher end models. So, it’s going to cost you to buy and feed the 6.2’s. A buddy of mine bought the 6.2 GMC AT4 only for the 6.2 that his preference was the Chevy Trail Boss but only came with 5.3. He still prefers the Trail Boss, looks mean and tough lol Sent from Above
  14. Loss of mpg’s will definitely happen every time you’re adding larger tires. Considering my truck is lifted, running heavier wheels and tires, I’m definitely good with what I’m getting. Mostly depending on wind activity, I’m averaging 18-20 mpgs on the highway at 65-70 mph, 17-19 mpgs at 70-76 mph. Sent from Above
  15. Having had both, 6.2 is much more powerful than the 5.3 in both the previous and new. Only thing to really consider is that the 5.3 takes regular fuel, the 6.2 prefers super/highest octane the better. Don’t buy the 6.2 if you’re going to complain about a $5-$10 difference fuel cost when filling up the 6.2. Though the 5.3 is good enough, between the two, I’ll never own anything but a 6.2. 16. Good idea, let’s all stick with truck parts and accessories! Sent from Above
  17. Lol, well, you did bring up Mobl1. Sent from Above
  18. He’s definitely got entertaining videos. You should see his Amsoil Signature Series tests. Sent from Above
  19. In the future, look into a well built lift. The levels will always put your suspension at bad angles but well built and reputable lift kits keep everything perfect angles. CST 4.5” lift, Zone, BDS all offer great bang for your buck with my favorite being CST, (IMO) Zone being the lowest cost. Big difference in ride quality from stock to level and from level to lifted. Good luck to you, enjoy that bad boy! Sent from Above
  20. Your specs calls for 6.2 quarts, add half a quart more and then check the fluid level. Sent from Above
  21. Did you buy it new or used and if used, are you sure it’s the original oil pan? It may be a larger upgraded pan that would be the reason for the low dipstick. Sent from Above
  22. We’re you the one that replaced your cigarette lighter with an led toggle switch?? Sent from Above
  23. Coming from leveling to lifting same truck, I’d recommend buying the Bilstein front adjustable shocks, the spacers “WILL” give your truck a much rougher ride especially adding larger size tires too. Just food for thought. Sent from Above
  24. Awesome choice! Thinking about lifting it anytime in the future or just plan on keeping it stock? Sent from Above
  25. It’s amazing just how much mpg’s change with a 5 mph difference. I’m not stressing over it and I’m keeping my trucks gears as is. Sent from Above
