  1. My friend has a red 70 Javelin SST and had a green one with the roof spoiler like yours. Hes an AMC nut
  2. Mine was 3.55s and that trip was a mix of 60 and 70 mph. Also mind you that was back before our gas went to sheet with our base gas still at 87 octane and one of additives being banned by epa
  3. This is why I try and keep on a 3 year rotation of new
  4. Any time you get a stiffer spring the ride will be rougher... But like what has been mentioned above this will ride better than a 1976 K10.. Again it will not be as smooth as T1 4x4
  5. Remember when people used to spend Friday and Saturday nights just driving back and forth down main street of their town??
  6. My very good friend is still waiting for his '23 SLT to come in that was ordered in Feb. I let him ride in my 23 just so he know what his '24 will be like ...
  7. Thanks for the follow up. PS I hope you didnt take it back the the shop that said it didnt need immediate repair. I also hope that they did all the Sonax updates as with them the 6 speed it a pretty damn good trans
  8. I remember my first 5.3 powered Chevy pickup 2001 Z71 ext cab. Back then we had to do mpg the hard way... Well the first time I penciled out 20mpg overall on a 200 mile trip, I hung the gas receipt with the miles and result on the fridge.
  9. I traded my 18 6.2 Silverado in on a 23 6.2 SLT with max tow. I really like the new screen and ease of use with navigation. Before this year the only new GM pickup i would even consider was an AT4 because the rest were hideous. I ended up with the SLT because load ratings were falling off on AT4s which won't be an issue for you and they don't look too bad with the refresh and new wheels. If you don't mind the drama that comes along with diesel I'd say buy it. It will bring the mpg's back up (AT4 6.2 loses a couple due to the lift kit). Just look at the best mpg thread...
  10. You need to get out and walk around anyway.
  11. You have a funeral right... One car is the hearse.... one car is the procession.... they get lost....
  12. Im with you on this one. Just more ****** to go bad in the future.. esp when you have passengers that think they have to touch every damn switch they can find and then run out the lubar support 100%, then find the switch only works one way - ha ha to them but the next passenger had to put up with it for 2 hours(was on my fav pickup 01 1500 LT Silverado that was 10 years old by this point). The only reason I have them now is that was the minimum package to get a 6.2
  13. They can and have F'd up a 2 car funeral
  14. How is 5.7 diesel and cyl deactivation techs fault? At what point in your ramblings did you offer assistance to the OP?
  15. my best was 33.5 with 0% ethanol, so if your using E that is outstanding. Wish I could get my GMC off 50 mile ave
  16. After blowing up the photos yes you are correct. If you look at the fender and hood they do not have the same texture. If someone buffed or wet sanded it should be smoother than than the fenders. Yes a pro would be able to wet sand a panel evenly but like mentioned would be smooth as glass.. I wonder if the hood was replaced and this is single stage paint(which is a very good color match).
  17. Yup looks like someone sanded thru it. Probably trying to fix pet scratches. You might be able to cheat and just clear it. At this point if the dealer won't take care of it I would try just clearing it. Otherwise it will be a blend job and painting the whole front
  18. 3M is the only way to go. I still see our 2001 Impala driving around and the tint is still black like its was brand new
  19. You might want to start doubling up on payments, youre a little bit upside down... Im here all week, try the salmon
  20. And currently with the 10 speed Max tow does not offer 3.73s its 3.42s. So he would need to find a 14-16/18 with a 6 speed?? will be even harder..
  21. If you buy Flowmaster keep the stock so in 2 years when it rusts off you can reinstall the factory
  22. Its called life... no one is guaranteed tomorrow or anything else for that matter.. Diesels haven't been reliable for 10+ years now. I dont feel sorry for anyone that buys one.. much less this model.. just look how its made
  23. I can vouch for this, our 8 F-250 service trucks are in for death wobble every 25-50K miles even under warranty. BUT Ford will never take blame, always saying our guys hit something... I just cant believe our vehicle buyer keeps buying them. I came from a different company all GM and the last thing we ever touched was front suspension even at 200K.
  24. Its all about cafe standards, warmer oil has less resistance. The cooler you can keep a transmission the longer it will last. EDIT I need to add that I looked at many window stickers comparing EPA fuel mpg ratings and the funny thing is it didn't matter on what tow package or gears for a 6.2 for mpg unless they have lift kits which is understandable. So why do they need different trans temp thermostats????
