  1. This is interesting to me. The 6112 uses a 750lb spring which, imo sounds pretty high. A lot of coilovers use 650-700. Someone posted before that own is 745. I have the 5100s and don't love them, it's pretty firm. You say the 6112s feel softer than OEM? Do you have the NHT / max tow package?
  2. Good looking vert. You're right though, mine could do a burnout, especially holding the brakes. And then fell on its face and had a 0-60 around 8 seconds. Funny how you could do a wicked burnout but still be so slow. I do love the 3rd gens in the right package. I always wanted a 350 / 5 speed. But alas, you got the 350 or 5 speed. I had the 305 auto :(.
  3. I also paid 36k for my loaded LT crew 4wd, 5.3. Sticker was 51 but no one pays that. I can't think of even a High Country with every option being 60 large. I assume you're referring to the price you didn't actually pay? Let's ignore inflation too. I'd have been loaded if I made in 1989 what I make now.
  4. Mine was actually tpi, 305. Needed a engine around 100. Trans issues but never needed a rebuild. Squeaky, crappy gas mileage, never ran super smooth. Slooooooow. Poor build quality and panel alignment. Lots of little plastic pieces and what not broke. Leaky t tops. They were better in memory than reality. Most people remember them as tire burning monsters. Reality was they were far slower than a new Cruze.
  5. As someone who is very familiar with the car you're referring to I am so thankful they don't make them like they used to. I wouldn't have paid what I paid if they did.
  6. It certainly sounds like it CAN be due to lack of maintenance but I wouldn't say it IS caused by lack of maintenance.
  7. How do you know if you have the new style pump? My 2018 was bought like 10 or 11 months ago. Anyone have pics?
  8. I believe these are installed / clocked incorrectly. On the top you should see the step of the mount / end of the spring.
  9. That's some really good info, sounds like exactly what I want. I'm glad to hear highway cruising is much better for v4 than city. Thank you.
  10. Stock definitely isn't a caddy ride. I bought a truck expecting a truck ride too. This is the firmest riding truck I've ever had though. 17" Method NVs and 285/70r17s have been ordered. Gittyup.
  11. Thanks for the info. Someone had said they are both straight through, so I wasn't sure what a new muffler would do. I'm considering replacing the muffler and flapper with the Magnaflow 12589. 22" muffler. And leaving the stock resonator. If like to keep the v4 mode though and have it setup to only be active above 60mph, for free way cruising.
  12. Is the OEM muffler and resonator both a straight through design?
  13. I have a z71 and went with bilstein 5100s. They're better in some ways but a kind of jarring ride, pretty stiff. I run standard load 275/60r20 tires at 32 psi. I'll be swapping the setup out for 285/70r17 tires in the next few weeks for a better ride and if that doesn't give me what I want, CST coilovers. I haven't used the CSTs so I can't in good faith recommend them as an improvement yet They cost considerably more but I'm tired of my stiff ride.
  14. Because your truck has magneride. If you put Bilstein's in you will have to get some sensor bypass plugs to avoid error codes. I wouldn't get rid of Magnerides for Bilstein's. JMO
  15. Thing is the LTZ is barely nicer than the LT, you have to look pretty hard. The High Country then spray paints some trim pieces bronze. They need some slight material upgrades and then a new upgraded interior that's an option on RST/TrailBoss and standard on LTZ and HC. And to sort out the suspension. It's supposed to be a huge improvement and it's worse.
  16. Also, the spring needs to be clocked a certain way and there is a top and bottom to the spring.
  17. There was a guy that got the wrong ones before, can you verify the part numbers on the unit? Post some pics up of them installed too.
  18. Tyler, do you have any pics of this setup? I'm torn between using my stock Z71 wheels, which I like and own or buying some 17s, which will ultimately cost me a grand more. If I could get a P rated 275/70r18 that was in a tire I wanted I'd go that route. Otherwise it's 265/70/r18. -32.6" and 10.7 wide 285/70r17 - 32.8 and 11.4 wide
  19. I'm on the 3rd setting and there was no difference in steering feel. That much of a change shouldn't even require an alignment really. If you're on stock wheels and tires you shouldn't be close to rubbing either. Something is way off.
  20. God. Have you sat in one? They're not good on the inside. They actually took a step or backwards from the k2xx. Cheap materials and blank buttons everywhere.
  21. That's okay man, I'llcringe every time I see a leveled truck and you'll cringe every time you see one with rake. I did tow my car and trailer last month and it was level. If you have the same exact wheel gap front and back they look very nose high o me. My truck had 2.25 in of rake when I bought it, I've heard others have far more rake stock up Edit. It looks like your truck is a GMC. 16 + Silverados got a new hood that sits higher than the 14-15s
  22. I bought a 2" non tapered. I had a little, very slight hard acceleration vibration stock and have a smidge less now. The blocks I bought off eBay are aluminum and powder coated. I had to drill the alignment peg hole slightly larger, FYI. Check that before bolting it back up.
  23. These trucks, especially the 16+ with their higher hood look nose high when "level". I put a 2" block in for a .75" rear lift when I lifted the front 1.25". Trucks look best with a rake, especially if you want to use it as a truck. Level trucks look frumpy like they have worn out springs!
  24. In what way? Is it softer?
  25. Thanks for the info. The main draw for me is that you can get them in 275/70r18 (33.2") standard load. Every other tire in this size is LT. Should make for a really nice ride, how do you feel their on road performance is? I've had some aggressive AT tires like the Hankook Dynapro ATM that were really bad in the snow, so these being more all season than AT will probably be a good thing.
