  1. Thanks divester for your thoughts ! The more I think about it the more I think I might just pass on tape repair job ! My thinking now , Deal with a noise during winter where most of the time when defroster are on high will be when I use remote start and not in truck . When in truck heat might be blasting but there’s no noise with heat out of vents dash or floor. Or deal with potential rattles or something else not working after dash removal and reinstall. Answering is becoming more clear at least in my mind . Skip job with dash removal.
  2. Recently my 2024 GMC Sierra Denali has an annoying humming noise when my defroster is on high speed fan. There is no noise when heater is on using dash or floor vents with high fan speed. I took it to dealer and they figured out that the actuator doors are vibrating and thats what is making the noise. They said there is a Preliminary Bulletin on problem. They say they will need to remove dash and install flocking tape by actuator doors to stop vibration sound. I’m wondering if any member had this problem and had this repair done. I’m concerned about them removing dash and reinstalling dash . Concerned I might have future problems from having dash removed and reinstalled . If sound wasn’t so annoying or if I lived in an area where I didn’t use defrosters much I might just deal with noise and skip repair. I don’t know how to post bulletin but here is info if someone wants to look up and view for more info. Preliminary Bulletin PIT6132B . Dealer had to order material / parts for repair so it’s giving me time to think things over. Thanks in advance for any reply’s!
  3. I’m having the same problem as mentioned above with my 2024 GMC Sierra.I looked for updates nothing new and previous was March 2. I tried rebooting using button on steering wheel same thing happened with radio so I tried a second reboot and right after second reboot I got an update now so I tapped to do update now. After update radio goes off when I turn off Sierra and open door . I went back to see what showed in the previous update area and only showed the March 2 update. I was going to post new update tile / number. I will check again tomorrow or the next day and if there’s a new tile or number I will update my port with new info. This just started happening in the last few days. I have had the Sierra for about a year with know problems. Update 6-1-25 I took my truck for quick ride this morning and when I parked in driveway I got a message for new update so I did update . When I restarted after update and then turned off radio went off when I opened driver door. So not sure if it was the two reboots I did yesterday or the new update done today but so far radio turns off properly .
  4. OP , my audio would cut out 3 or 4 times quickly with in the first 2-3 minutes that the vehicle was first started for the day. Then worked fine. No other issues with screen features. I was going and trying to figure out out is it CarPlay or my Bluetooth or iPhone. While I was trying starting up with CarPlay connected or not , repairing my IPhone over a short period of time and not being able to correct problem . I then received a warranty update letter from GM for a Software Wi-Fi Module Update on my vehicle I had dealer do the update and haven’t had an audio cut out sense ! It took about a 45 minutes at dealer ! Hope this info helps. Updated was done about 2 1/2 months ago ago .
  5. First I have a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali and sorry if I posted in wrong area. I’m looking at getting a Viofo VS1 mini dash cam. There are two options for wiring 1 feed power cable ( USB ) type from camera behind mirror to usb port in console or into storage compartment. Simple I got that way ! Option 2 feed a hard wire from camera by mirror to a vehicle fuse box. Question is for those who have done this for dash cam or radar detector. I need to feed cable to a connection in fuse box that’s always has power. What connection number in fuse box did you connect too . I have seen a Dongar adapter to solve wiring but the adapter I saw plugs into a plug behind mirror and my vehicle doesn’t have that plug. Only reason thinking of hardwiring is there are a parking feature in camera that if the camera has power while parked I can choose a few option for recording if motion etc around vehicle. I’m not 100% sure I want to use that feature but looking how to hard wire if I choose too . Thanks in advance for any replies. UPDATE ! I found an adapter for mirror tap the adapter is a Fitdvr for dash cam power they say will work in my vehicle. Adapter is a 10 pin type D plug. Vehicle is a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali. So my situation is solved. Thanks to those who read my post.
  6. Ok Thanks , I was just trying to see if I could get defroster and remote start to work like my 2018 and 2014 did blowing at speed set no matter what temp vehicle was. I just found it strange that I could remote start with defroster on and it’s on low but if I enter right away and hit the start button it goes to speed I set no matter the temp of vehicle. Good thing is it’s an inconvenience I will just let it warm up longer or do a double remote start. Thanks for replying.
  7. So incase anyone one else has this inconvenience with thier defroster on thier 2024. I just went out to truck and checked setting on my 2024 like mentioned above . All I could set would be for heated seats or cooled seat to turn on with remote start unable to set defroster speed. Just info for those viewing.
  8. Thanks you posted as I was typing. I will see if I can set speed. Thanks again !
  9. Update I called dealer and ask why when using the remote start the defroster works at low and not at speed I set. I was told it has to do with climate control setting on the new vehicles.Basically told vehicle senses that defroster is blowing cold air on to windshield due to outside cold temps and vehicle not warmed up yet to be able to blow warm air. As the vehicles warms up the defroster speed will increase as temp of air warms. It doesn’t matter what temp I have set or fan speed that is set. I was told no way to change the way it works. Just give more time before going out to go into vehicle and fan speed will increase to temp setting eventually as vehicle warms up. So I guess I will see if this is the case by giving it more time run and then checking fan speed when I enter vehicle .
  10. I have a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. I’m posting my question here as I don’t see a 2024 Sierra 1500 trouble shooting question area and hoping 1500 and HD have the same type of defroster settings. My problem is more an inconvenience than a problem. I use the remote start a lot during winter time and noticed when I set defroster to high fan speed then turn off and then exit vehicle. When I use remote start to start vehicle the next time the defroster fan is always on low. Once I get in and push button fan will go to the high setting I previously set. On my 2014 and 2018 Sierras when using remote start defroster would turn on to the fan speed which was previously set. I looked in truck setting and can’t seem to see an area where I can adjust / change so defroster will go to speed set not low speed. Like I said more of an inconvenience but would like defroster and remote start to work at fan speed I set. Hoping one of the members found away to solve my problem.
  11. I did notice when scrolling thru the screens different categories /setting on my 2024 Denali I believe under vehicle then comfort there was an area where you can turn off / on side steps. Not saying this will fix your problem why it’s acting up just info for if it does it again and keeps running but not moving maybe you can turn it off and not burn out something or cycle on off maybe that would stop it running motor to move when it’s not moving. I’m thinking of turning mine off for January / February when we get heavy snow and ice. Thinking there will be a build up of snow ice on those brackets that slide in and could cause a problem for them to retract all the way and possibly keep trying burning somethings out. Plus in down position I’m thinking it may give more protection from the Salt and snow / ice kicking up on rocker panels.
  12. Will check out this TSB as I have a 2024 1500 Sierra and have noticed my tailgate being down without using buttons a few times in the last 3 months from delivery. One time was about 20 minutes after washing truck. Thanks for TSB number.
  13. Ok I went to dealer today and they found no codes causing that warning to show on screen. I feel a little dumb saying this but no one else said anything about this including the original dealer who said there was a problem. So hopefully this will help others maybe . Servicing dealer today said that warning shows on screen is caused when you use the controls on steering wheel and you adjust settings sensitivity for your collision avoidance section. I’m thinking that maybe on of the employees checking out vehicle for trade value used the steering wheel controls to view oil life , engine hours / rev’s etc and unknowing click on collision avoidance section and changed setting. Thus making the warning show up on screen. That scenario would answer why I never saw warning on screen before checkout for trade value. Surprised that a employee involved in checking out vehicle for dealer wouldn’t know about this screen warning and wouldn’t tell me it needs to be serviced/ repaired. Glad no problem found and only wasted a 1/2 hour at dealer this morning . I learned something today hope this helps out other forum members. Todays dealer adjusted / changed setting so that warning is now not showing up on screen when starting truck.
  14. Thanks for the replies. I was thinking’s about the battery also. It is the original Battery . Battery was load tested came back good. But I have learned in the past that a battery showing good can still give out some electrical gremlins. The charging is within the normal range. At this point I have a appointment with dealer in two days and truck has a extended warranty on it so I’m going to see what they find out. If sensors check out as good and If sensor warning still shows on I will see if they can clear warning or if they think a new stronger battery will help out situation I will replace the battery. Hopefully they find out what’s wrong and get it corrected so I can go forward with getting trade in value on a 2024 Sierra without warning showing on dash. Thanks again for your replies !
  15. This morning I went out to go get trade value on my 2018 Sierra SLT from my dealer toward a 23 or 24. When I started truck the Forward Collision System warning came on. I guess my truck likes it’s home and doesn’t want to leave! I checked and cleaned sensors on bumper and started again warning still there. I checked area behind bumper to check where sensors are plugged in appear to be connected and tight. Start again and warning still there. Is there anything else I can check before taking to dealer to see what the problem is . Anyone have this problem with there’s ? If so what caused the problem ? Thanks for replies.
  16. So my Forward Collision System Reduced warning came on this morning the morning I was going to price out a 2024 Sierra Denali. I checked to make sure sensors on front bumper are clean which they are. I also checked we’re the sensors are plugged into connectors behind bumper. They appear to be tight. Any thing else I could check before taking it into dealer for repair. Thanks Moderator for forum please delete as I posted in wrong year forum. Thanks
  17. I’m looking at trading my 18 Sierra in for a 24 Sierra and looking over the options. I have what might be a dumb question to some but what is the difference in the dual mode exhaust to the GM cat back exhaust system they offer as an option . I’m looking for a little more rumble sound over stock but not crazy load. Dual mode gives you the option to swift from touring /sport and change the sound a little bit correct. So if I order dual and cat back system it will enhance the sound even more correct ? Is there much drone with the GM cat back system ?
  18. I'm not sure this same thing op posted about for about the last month I was hearing a clunky / creeking sound from under my front end of my 18 Sierra with 7000 miles. I made appointment with dealer and took in last week . The mechanic heard sound and found that my frame cross over member and lower control arm bolts needed to be re-torque. Problem solved !
  19. I had a similar thing happen today to my 18 Sierra. Filled up truck pump clicked off but I was sure it should of taken more going by reading of gauge before filling. After filling I checked gauge and it showed 3/4 full. I filled 25 cents more gas into tank neck showed fuel so I know it was full now! Gauge still showed 3/4 after ride home and fuel in neck. I will add a bottle of Techron fuel system cleaner to tank. I had a similar situation with a car I store for winter and the Techron cleaned up sensor of carbon and solved problem. If that doesn't work will call dealer. My Sierra only has about 7000 miles it wasn't used a lot this last year so there could have been a carbon build up on sensor. Off to the parts store for Techron ! I know you should fill past pump clicking off , but in this case I wanted to see if was definitely full.
  20. Update for anyone that's interested , I took truck to dealer and they re - torque both frame cross member and lower control arm bolts. No more clunking / scaping sounds or vibration ! .
  21. I haven't noticed rpm's fluctuating . I will check out next time driving truck. Thanks for replying. Is clunking sound part of symptoms of shudder / tranny problem ? All I have read about Shudder is vibration, feeling of driving over rumble strip , rpm's fluctuating nothing about clunking sound. Hoping clunking / vibration is a less server problem such as bad ujoint / driveshaft etc. Thought ?
  22. Hello everyone ! Looking for some advise or thought on my problem . I have a 18 Sierra Crew cab with about 6000 miles on truck. I'm getting a slight vibration on wheel and fell vibration in seat. I also get a scaping / clunking sound coming from under truck. I'm aware of tbs for Triple Flush I had Triple Flush done to truck when I was only feeling vibration no clunking sound and about 800 miles ago. Vibration was even less then than now .I just wanted new / correct fluid in tranny . Question is could this be just a bad universal or some thing else besides tranny. Clunking noise is bugging me more that vibration .I was thinking of putting in Range Device that I have for a car in storage and see what happens with that plugged in. I was able a to get audio of sound on my iphone to take to dealer just in case it doesn't do it when they take for test drive. Thoughts ? Thanks in advance for replies.
  23. I have a 18 GMC Sierra with rear defroster and power rear window . I have not received recall in mail or did dealer mention anything when they checked for recalls when I was in middle of last month for inspection. My Sierra was built Last week of November 18 if that matters. Is this limited to certain VIN or all vehicles with rear window defroster and power window? Or only in Canada ? Strange if in Canada and not USA !
  24. I have a 18 Sierra Crew Cab I notice a vibration when deceleration. I also own a 2017 Corvette and on the Corvette Forum C7 section there is a lot of info with vibration when in or entering V4 mode. There is mention of Range Device / AFM Disabler that keeps vehicle from entering V4 mode. My Corvette didn’t have any problems with V 4 mode. But I bought Range Device back in 17 to keep Corvette from entering V4 mode as a preventative / peace of mind thing. In November after putting car in winter storage I pulled device out of car and installed in 18 Sierra. I thought lets see if this will help with hard shifting / vibration and engine seeming to run rough when entering V4 mode. It appears by blocking V4 mode it has eliminated or reduced the hard shifting / vibration that I don’t notice it. Seems to have removed my concerns. Device probably didn’t solve problem. But by stopping my Sierra from going into V4 mode it has made driving 18 Sierra better ! If anyone wants more info on device.google Range Device or check out www.rangetechnology.com
