    Good question, I feel the same way and wondered the same thing. At least no flashing 3rd light on the rear, that is extra annoying!

    Re the gear shifter, it is better than the alternative. My Silverado trail boss was loose, so I could see it bounce up and down out of the corner of my eye while driving over bumps in the road, and it annoyed me to no end. Good riddance trail boss, lol.

    FYI, I was in the habit of backing up and connecting the 5th wheel, putting it in park and leaving the truck idling when I plugged in. More times than not, I would usually see the same message. I read here somewhere that turning the truck off, open the door so the informant shuts off, then plug in. Since I’ve been doing this, I have not had that nuisance message… Hope my good luck continues!

    Thanks guys, sounds like the best thing to do is take it out on an hour long road trip every month. I appreciate the advice!

    Summer is here, and using the Silverado every month or so for towing the 5er. I also used to use it for long work trips to avoid the hassle with charging stops with the EUV every month or so throughout the winter. Now, I purchased a new Blazer for work trips cause the 2500 was too big and was a parking hassle at my destinations. Long story short, the truck will be only used 3x a year in the summer, and the rest of the year it will sit in the garage. So the question is, how often should I get it out on the road and run it for an hour or so?

    After about 5 hours on the road, I am ready to setup and have a cold beer. My regular get-a-way has a lot of congested traffic areas along the way so I'm ready! People pulling into the following distance space you are intentionally leaving and slamming on the brakes drives me bonkers...

    I am with you 100%. That is an awesome system, and I too would LOVE to have it!!! 10 years ago I would have traded in my new truck to get it, but I guess I am getting older and wiser.

    You are on to something about the big city dealers taking longer... I go to a small town dealership and programming recall work has always begun on my truck within 5-10 minutes, and done in a couple hours or less. The exception being the shock recall that took 4 hours along with an oil change and couple other programming recalls I did not know it needed.

    So, I went in to have the front shock absorber recall done (N222364680), along with an oil change and they said I had 3 other recall items to complete which I had no idea about. N222376580- Power assist step reversing N212356230- Font camera module inoperative N212351210- ECM OBD faults not detected I was not having any issues with the truck, and now I hopefully won't lol. Anyone have a clue what the fixes were for, just curious?

    Amazon had my plain jane color by GM. I see they have yours in a different brand... Those chip marks really show up on white, don't they?!?

    Yes, sometimes happens to me with the 5th wheel attached. If it is on, I stop at the end of my street, turn off the truck, open & close the driver door so the system powers down then restarting. Doing that seems to knock some sense into it. I thought it had to do with plugging in the trailer while truck was running, so have been connecting with truck off. It only does this when leaving home, and not when hooking up for my return trip so trying to see what I am doing differently at home versus the campground... I agree, it is annoying!

    Great, report back with the resolution. Have not seen that happen on any vehicle before and it will be interesting to know the cause.

    I should have added in some more info - - GVWR is around 10k, 1400lb hitch weight for the trailer. The mileage I get while towing is 11-12 MPG which includes a mountain pass or 2. The truck handles the situation awesomely. Usually set the cruise at 65 and motor along. Get passed left and right, but that's ok, the journey is part of the adventure. Not towing, averaging around 20-21 mpg. The only downside is that I feel so diminutive when washing the truck despite being 6' tall, lol.

    Oh, got it. I use CarPlay with Apple maps and the speed limit info will only display when a destination is entered (navigating) like you say, and no option to turn it on otherwise. From what you say, GMaps is the same. Sorry, no other information from me anyhow.. Michael

    Hey Marpel, It is listed in my manual on page (125), 126 under DIC display options. It says this is available on midlevel and up level trims. I have it on my truck. What is your trim level?

    The past 10 years, I have added a good quality ceramic coating to my truck purchases and have it done before driving off the lot. Especially with the black trail boss, and the dark grey AT4. Even had the current white one done, basically for easy maintenance. Haven't been pestered with swirl marks since doing that. Although, I have traded in/upgraded a lot but that will need to come to an end if I ever want to retire!

    I traded in my 2020 AT4 for a 22 Silverado 2500/Diesel, mainly because I wanted to get a 5th wheel about the same weight as yours. Got the sucker loaded up with all the cameras, etc. and towing/hooking up is a breeze. I'd suggest you get the 5th wheel package option incase you want to upgrade down the road.
