  1. OEM-style replacement tow mirrors are too expensive for my 2020 1500 ... at least for me. I'm using these snap-on mirrors when towing travel trailer. Mirror is manual adjustable, but have been good enough for the price. Also, my truck doesn't have camera and puddle lights. There is some image bouncing in mirrors, but not a issue for me. https://a.co/d/dtArREU
  2. Do you have solar panels on the trailer? I read somewhere that a diode needed to be installed on the trailer light plug to eliminate the 12v "feedback" to truck from the solar system.
  3. I've noticed stations are now posting price for E15 gas (88 octane) that is 10-15 cents cheaper per gallon than "normal" E10 gas (87 octane). Really have to be alert when selecting pump handle if you don't want to use the cheapest E15 fuel.
  4. You may need software update from dealership. TSB 23-NA-053 Radio Software Version U168 Update. I had blank screen on my 2020 Silverado 1500 until this was installed. Check out this post with link to TSB:
  5. I could not get my Trailer Light Test to work last week with myChevrolet app for 2020 Silverado with Advanced Training option; kept getting System Error contact Support. Had to uninstall app and install again and problem cleared.
  6. What a relief...congrats! What kind of grounding strap did you use? Does an insulated battery cable with pre-installed terminals work okay?
  7. Could be the dreaded bad grounding strap. Check out this post: 2019+ Silverado Electrical Issues Attributed To Braided Grounding Strap - 2019-2025 Chevy Silverado & GMC Sierra Troubleshooting - GM-Trucks.com https://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/260048-2019-silverado-electrical-issues-attributed-to-braided-grounding-strap/
  8. I think it is for the second camera for inside a trailer. My blue connector also was not attached to the second camera port on bumper (with 7-pin receptacle.) Pic is what my unattached camera harness looks like on 2020 1500 with advanced training option.
  9. I have not done brakes on my 2020, so I cannot give much helpful info. But, did you put your truck in brake service mode before starting work? I found this on YouTube. Good luck.
  10. Software update available for trailering app blank screen. Also, on my 2020, a body control module had to be replaced for the optional trailer camera to work in the trailering app. Technical Service Bulletin No.: 23-NA-053 Date: March, 2023 Subject: Radio Software Version U168 Update
  11. Go to radio settings on truck and make sure Car Play icon is selected to be active (not hidden)
  12. I was randomly seeing the notice to check trailer wiring on my 2020 LT when towing travel trailer, but trailer brakes and lights were working normally. Dealership found stored code C1114 (no MIL) and gave me this TSB. I bought the Pollak 12-706 trailer plug from Amazon and have not seen notice since, despite the Pollak plug being thin plastic. Good luck. TSB 21-NA-155, Date: June 2022 https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2022/MC-10214860-0001.pdf Subject: Information on Check Trailer Wiring Message and/or Service Trailer Brake Displayed on Driver Information Center (DIC) - DTC C1114 Set Engineering has recommended the use of Pollak Heavy Duty 7-Way (Trailer Side) Connector Plugs. Pollak is the OEM manufacturer of the truck's 7-way connector socket; and by using a Pollak Heavy Duty 7-Way (Trailer Side) Connector Plug, this will ensure proper fit when the twoc onnectors are mated... (example 12-706, 12-702).
  13. I need more light too! How/where did you connect them to work with the factory dim lights?
  14. Make sure trailer light wiring matches truck. The 7-way trailer light receptacle on our trucks is wired for RV. Some utility trailers use a different 7-way wiring pattern.
  15. Check YouTube for companies that have bumper upgrades. I found a good video to help me replace my rear bumper on a 2020 Silverado after a bumper bender. The rear bumper replacement was not difficult: release the RV receptacle, 2 wiring harness and 4 nuts.
  16. I have a 2020 Silverado that will occasionally shudder and dealership could not duplicate the issue. I did some research and found this service bulletin: 21-NA-199 Aug 9, 2022 Summary: This informational bulletin advises the technician to replace the Thermal Bypass Valve (TBV) if the transmission has any type of repair and even if no problem was found, to replace the TBV. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2022/MC-10218882-0001.pdf
  17. Glad your mechanic was able to track down that short! Here is a service bulletin with known chaffing and pics of some locations. TSB 21-NA-149 March 2023 Subject: Engine Wire Harness Chafing / ... / Various DTCs https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2023/MC-10232712-0001.pdf
  18. Check here for rebates on select ACDelco spark plugs and filters. I bought on Amazon and submitted an online request for my rebate. https://www.gmparts.com/consumer-rebate-offers
  19. Here is an update thru year 2022 PIT5747B Diagnostic Tip - Trailer Lighting Complaints With Trailering App RPO U1D https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2022/MC-10208985-9999.pdf
  20. If trailer theft is turned off, then it is the pulsing to check if trailer is still connected, even when truck is turned off. Trailer lights will flash with my 2020 Silverado 1500 when boat trailer is connected, but I don't see it with travel trailer. GM says to use Curt adaptor 57003, per PIT below. It is dated 6/5/2020, but there may be an update for newer model trucks. PIT5747 Diagnostic Tip - Trailer Lighting Complaints With Trailering App RPO U1D https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10178307-9999.pdf
  21. I have a 2020 Silverado LT crew cab with a storage organizer like in your link - it is fitted perfectly to my truck & floor mat. It came with the new truck, not sure if it was part of the rubber floor mat package, or another option. I have two small tackle/tool cases that fit in the long open area for tools, cargo straps, etc.
  22. See this post about software update and TSB https://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/259741-trailering-app-wont-initialize/?do=findComment&comment=2623869
  23. No, reset to factory default settings is not a permanent fix, just the only solution GM had for several years. But, a software update has finally been released and it did FIX the blank trailering app on my 2020 - have not had a blank screen since software update. Check out my post and also download the related TSB: https://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/259741-trailering-app-wont-initialize/?do=findComment&comment=2623869
  24. Hallelujah! A software update to fix the Trailering App random blank display has finally been issued (I waited over 2.5 years for this.) Dealership did the update a few days ago (truck still under warranty) when I took truck in for another, persistent service request for this problem. This radio software update, version U168, was released in March 2023. I don’t know if this will be pushed out as an OTA update or if it must be installed by a dealership. Software update details in TSB 23-NA-053 (attached.) And, update is successful! I have NOT had a Trailering App blank display since update. Best wishes, I know there are a lot of us that have been waiting for this fix. 23-NA-053 Radio Software Version U168 Update.pdf
  25. Go to Android Auto settings on phone (open it from AA settings icon on truck display) and make sure this option is set to off: Start music automatically Automatically start media when you start driving You may also get to AA setting on phone following: Settings > Apps > Android Auto >> In-app notification settings >> Start music automatically
