  1. Here ya go! just stating the facts from C & D https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a25016363/2019-chevy-silverado-1500-by-the-numbers/ here is the other one https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a15103553/2016-chevrolet-silverado-1500-z71-53l-8-speed-automatic-test-review/
  2. Better find a new place to live then! Thank goodness I live in the good old plain states where hospitality is a priority. I remember when I moved to Las Vegas. Unreal how different life was there. No one waved at you when you drove by them. Everyone stared at you like an alien instead of saying friendly hello. So glad I’m back here where common courtesy is expected. I feel better with my kids in school and walking home as well. Never in Vegas would I have.
  3. I see. I agree with the rear doors having buttons. My 2019 high country has them and I love it. But I can see how it’s really not that important to most people. Use the key fob and hit unlock on it once (if settings are changed) or twice and all doors unlock. Pretty simple!
  4. At least your honest with yourself. Is it hard to get off the couch or do you have someone get your food and beer for you??
  5. Yes it’s the transmission programming that’s the biggest difference. Along with a little weight reduction do to the use of aluminum. For 355HP and 383TQ it performs so much better than the K2 5.3L. car and driver tested a 2016 5.3L with 8 spd at 7.2 secs. And a new 2019 RST 5.3L with 8 spd at 6.1 secs. That a huge difference. All without changing HP/TQ
  6. If it’s cold outside. It can get a little growly!! Just on start up. It’s a loud crisp growl then tones down quickly. I love mine. I won’t put anything else on any other truck I buy. The best part is the highway driving. You do not hear it. Until you step on it. Father had flowmaster on his F150 and I can’t stand riding in it. Constant drone.
  7. I didn’t know you had a standard bed on your truck? Looks nice. I love mine also. That extra room is nice when hauling stuff to the lake. And the running boards going to wheel well now makes it easy to clean back window and tonneau cover.
  8. That “junk” has been refreshed since 2004. Hasn’t changed much since then. Not a fan of their turbo six motors either. Only worthy one is the coyote V8 but they have that so high strung now that most burn oil worse than the old AFM 5.3L I also like the current interior. It’s very practical and easy to use. And the more computer screens and electronics coming from factory is really going to drive the costs up. Just put more power into the power train and maybe put a 10 to 12 inch screen within the dash. Nothing sticking up out of the dash. Must be contour and uniform to the dash.
  9. Over 10 years of Ford Raptor sales and now Ram with TRXs would counter that argument from you. I also would argue because not only is Ford bringing back the a raptor for year 11 but also for year 12 bringing a Raptor R model with a supercharged V8. There is a demand for high performance trucks. And not everyone’s cup of tea is a sports car. Most are 2 seaters and if they do have back seats they are really cramped. If you have a family, it’s tough and they also can’t tow anything. For toys I have a boat and jet skis and when you hit the water it doesn’t hurt as bad a pavement. A motorcycle in my opinion is a death trap. I survived one totaled motor cycle crash and will never own one or drive one again. No thanks. GM has all the small block heritage and inventory on it’s shelves to produce 2 high performance variant trucks. One sport and one off-road to compete and make a profit in the market.
  10. I’m with you on price of fuel. As you know I’m swapping out motors in my boat and I just have this terrible feeling that gas is going to skyrocket over $4 with this new administration to push for more EV sales. Which makes no sense because according to the media and Washington the economy is hurting. So why push up gas prices??? Stupid. Instead of people putting $60 to $100 in their vehicles filling them up. People could fill up for half that price and put the other money back into the economy. STUPIDITY at its FINEST we have there folks. No reason gas should ever go above $2
  11. I totally agree with you! I’d sign on the dotted line. But $79k is a hell of a lot cheaper than $140k that my truck would have cost with the Yenko conversion. it’s awesome you can afford to build your own truck like that. That’s a ton of coin.
  12. You guy realize those Yenko Silverado’s are $80k PLUS the price of the truck that you want to modify. So for my truck is would have been $140k!!!!! That right there is ludicrous!
  13. Also the only difference from my 2018 to 2019 is: GMC vs Chevy——-new front end is a lot bigger! 8 spd vs 10 spd bed length 5.8ft to 6.6 ft same: 6.2L engine—-realize one was AFM vs DFM CAI S&B catback exhaust crewcabs 22inch wheels running boards mud flaps tonneau cover just crazy to me my average is about 4 mpgs less. When DFM is supposed to be better. But like I’ve said the 10 spd had more than made up for it in my mind. Would just be nice to see an improvement since others are seeing it how about the fuel?? I always run premium 91 in it here in Midwest. It’s highest grade we have.
  14. Nice try. I set it. How do you think my 2018 averaged 24 mpgs consistently?!? Nothing drives me crazier than people who drive on the interstate or open highways and don’t set it. Ugh! My truck ? just doesn’t get it.
  15. I must have gotten a rotten egg!!????. I can barely crack over 20 mpgs with this truck. I average around 18. How are you guys getting these mpgs???
  16. Interesting, but GM spends 5.6 MILLION DOLLARS on a 30 second lame @$$ Super Bowl commercial with Will Ferrell in it about EVs and beating out Norway. Way to spend your money wisely GM! #makeperformancevehiclesagain
  17. My best friend who owns his tint business bought his son a 2007 silver SS impala and has it tuned, CAI, and rebuilt beefed up tranny and that thing runs hard. He loves it. May I ask what you didn’t like about yours??? btw. Love the white SS trailblazer
  18. Here is a pic of my SS. I had running boards on it for winter to keep down on the road debris and rock chips. They were notorious for rock chips. Had the TSB rock chip repair done on it once. I miss this thing!
  19. I agree with @KARNUT and @Descartian I loved my 06 Trailblazer SS. It was unique, fast, could corner very well for an SUV, carry 5 people, and tow my boat. It was a complete package. I on the other hand are in need of a crew cab sport truck because of the size of my family. GM has completely abandoned the sport/high performance market when it comes to their Trucks and SUVs. It’s a shame because I thought the SS truck started out pretty good. The 06-09 Impala SS was a true sleeper sedan, and the Trailblazer SS was an all time favorite of mine. And I might get ridiculed for this but the Cobalt SS with its turbo 4 cylinder was no slouch either. Just not my cup of tea. I also think the new blazer (which I drove in RS trim) does very well and GM is crazy for not putting a 5.3L in that or a twin turbo 3.6L for SS trim. It’s a real shame and it really upsets me Btw. I talked to a good friend who is a salesman today and stated just wait for the Hummer. It can go 0-60 in 3 secs. That’s fine and dandy but here in the Midwest we don’t have the electric charging stations anywhere around here in Iowa. It’s not feasible for us to have something like that. Plus, I’d rather have a good old fashioned V8 supercharged with a nice exhaust tone.
  20. Awesome ?. Glad you like your truck. Great gas mileage too. I can’t seem to squeeze over 20 mpgs out of my 6.2L. My 2018 Sierra averaged right at 24 mpgs with it. It was unreal how well it got mpgs, but the 8 spd drove me nuts. This new 10 spd makes up for the loss of mpgs in my eyes. Take care.
  21. Agreed. I’ve been wanting another SS truck model for a long time. They also could have stuffed the 5.3L into the Traverse and blazer and really had a nice SS hot rod family hauler that is reliable and gets decent gas mileage. (Via you keep your foot off the pedal) The ZR2 Bison should have definitely had the twin turbo 3.6L from the get go. I just don’t see how GM doesn’t want a piece of the market that Ram and Ford have. Also none of them have a sport truck model.
  22. Ford was smart??? No offense but GMs V8s get better fuel economy than the ecoboosts do. I have 5 family members who have them and they don’t come near the EPA fuel economy numbers. Stepdad finally sold his and his GMC Sierra gets on average 22 mpgs. His ecobust couldn’t sniff 18 mpgs owning it for 5 years. There is no reason for GM to abandon their V8s.
  23. So GM just released their black wing addition CT4 and CT5 cars CT4 with a twin turbo 3.6L at 472 HP 445TQ CT5 with a supercharged 6.2L at 668 HP 659TQ Now why can’t GM incorporate the 3.6L engine into a new ZR2 Colorado/Canyon. Also add a sports truck model and call it a typhoon/syclone And for full-size Incorporate the 6.2L into the full-size and make a new SS model for a sport truck and a ZRX model for you off road guys. We all know this paired with the 10 spd would hang with RAM TRX very well. Let’s start a coversation on this and things you would like to see Good day gentlemen
  24. If you get an RST package you can get the 5.3L with the 10 spd I believe. Try and get the 10 spd if you can. It’s super smooth. Some of the 8 spds still have issues. I’ve heard nothing but good things about the 3.0L diesel as well. Just have to pay a little more for diesel and DEF than the regular fuel with the 5.3L. Good luck with your choice. Congrats on retirement. Both my parents are heading for it in May as well.
  25. The last 2 trucks I bought were in the month of April and my Sierra had $12,500 and my new High Country had $11k but I choose the zero percent and dealership also gave me their incentive of $6k. Most around here right now are around $8,126 at Sid Dillon where my family does a lot of shopping.
