  1. I have a buddy that has a 2017 5.3L with 8 spd and he says he has cold hard shifts but if he remote starts it and let’s it sit for 5 mins to warm up the truck doesn’t hesitate or have the hard shifts. Anyone else verify this??
  2. It will have a E85 decal, a yellow gas cap or tag on fuel door stating E85 and yes, a sensor that allows the engine to read the E85. The sensor is what allows the truck to run properly without throwing the code. Most of the 5.3L came from factory in the K2 with a plug to eventually put a sensor in. When I wanted to tuned my K2 6.2L the tuner said some 6.2L had the plug already but some didn’t and would have to install it to run it in E85. I will tell you though when I put E85 in my 2016, that thing would FLY. I took down my step dads Ecobust with it. I was truly impressed how well that thing ran just by simple gas swap.
  3. That’s if it’s E85 compatible. Some of the K2s were not and would throw a code. My 2016 was not and threw a code along with check engine light. I have not read anywhere that the new T1 5.3l are E85 compatible. So they would throw codes as well.
  4. Well it’s a terrible joke because Trailboss Customs don’t have DRLs like the Trailboss LTs. So the OPs truck wouldn’t fall under that! and DRLs aren’t set to “hyper flash”. They look like that in any video because our eyes see them differently in real life/time compared to a video ??
  5. This is very interesting because when Chevy introduced the Trailboss they had all kinds of magazine companies flown out to their testing facilities for the Trailboss and they all threw that truck through the obstacle course with a HUGE mud pit crossing. This is strange. Here are 2 videos Nothing happened to these trucks. From what you wrote. This is worse treatment then what you went through.
  6. Oh I’m aware. I buy vehicles every 3 years and I listen to what they say, but take it as a grain of salt. But I know for a FACT that GMC vehicles that I’ve owned have been quieter than they’re Chevy counterparts. 2015 Acadia quieter than moms Traverse 2015 Terrain quieter than grandfathers Equinox stepdads 2020 Sierra quieter than my 2019 High Country So I do believe that GMC does use more sound deadening materials from my buying/driving experience
  7. I’m with you 100%. Truck looks awesome with bigger rims.
  8. Agreed on the new 6.6L gas motor. It’s gotten great reviews. Lots of power. It just needs the 10 speed backed behind it to unleash it’s full potential. I don’t understand why GM isn’t putting 10 speed in all their vehicles?
  9. Nope, there are actually nice guys who work at stealerships. That’s why I drove over 70 miles to take it to them, instead of my hometown stealer ship who claims they haven’t heard of any rear window leaks or rear brake squeaks. Unreal!
  10. Rim size does make a bit of difference on the ride of vehicles, but these new car manufacturers are using sizes from 17 to 22 so they test the vehicles on each of these rim sizes. It’s not like 20 years ago when all they had were 17 inch rims/tires and the aftermarket world of 20” rims looked HUGE! , yet they rode “harsh” on the roads, because they didn’t come from the manufacturers ever being tested with those size rims. They now test all these trucks on all different road conditions with different size rims/tires a lot more than they ever used too. I do believe after driving a 2021 RST Z71 for the past week while my truck was getting fixed and putting over 1200 miles on that truck, that GM did “tinker” with the suspension a bit because that truck rode more “firm” than my 2019 HC. My HC likes to “float” and is a little bouncy on uneven roads. This 2021 RST Z71 rode differently. It rode like some of the comments going on about the Bilstein 5100s. More firm, less bouncy, and planted. My step dads Sierra also rides better, more planted than my HC as well and is noticeably quieter. By no means is my truck loud, I LOVE IT. Was glad to get it back, but it is noticeable. If you go back to ALL the reviews on 2019 trucks by any car magazine reviews: there were always 2 negatives: crappy interior and poor/bouncy ride over uneven surfaces. GM is taking care of the interior next year (btw, I like the current interior) And I think they have made these newer trucks more planted.
  11. GM should make the S10 again as a Chevy LUV size truck. Heck the Colorado is the same size as a C/K 1500 truck from the 90s. drop the 2.0L turbo from the terrains/acadias in it and it would be a hit!
  12. I don’t but I will look at service report papers at home on table. I just mentioned it to service manager and he said ok I’ll look it up. Very nice and knowledgeable guy
  13. Replaced them with new pads
  14. So I got my truck back today and they fixed the rattle and they said “they had to relocate the transmission harness on top of trans to prevent it from rubbing on the firewall”! He said they have had a few of these trucks with my issue. He also had to put some loctite on a couple center console bolts because they were a little loose and prevent them from coming out again. I was very pleased with their service on my truck. Fixed all my issues, along with rear brake squeak. Truck is super quiet inside now. Hopefully this helps you if you or anyone else if you are having a rattle in the dash area.
  15. Got truck back today from dealership. Fixed all the rattles, new steering column put in, and replaced rear brakes per TSB. No squeaks at all now.
  16. I got some BD trims domed black with silver outline for Christmas from the wife. They have been stuck in Florida for the past week? Hopefully they come in. Won’t put them on till spring so not huge deal. Wanna make sure weather is nice and warm so they stay on. Too dang cold here in Midwest right now.
  17. Yes removing the flappers will increase performance but if you want that and Zero drone. Why not just get a catback from Borla, Corsa or Gibson?? The Borla and Corsa are around $1300+ but the Gibson can be bought for half that and it’s a very good exhaust. I had it on my 2018 and it sounded great. They just didn’t make it for a standard bed on T1s otherwise it would be on my truck. That’s how much I liked it. Just my opinion but I’d rather do it right that hack up the stock exhaust and then still have drone.
  18. LOL. Of course not. Mine has 12k on it now at dealership for steering wheel column replacement, some rattles and of course rear brake squeak. They are aware of the issue but they told me the brakes are on back order????. We shall see what they say when I get the truck back. It’s very annoying backing out of driveway in a $67k vehicle with squeaky brakes, when neighbor across the street has a 2014 Sierra with 80k miles on it, and his factory brakes don’t squeak!!???.
  19. Well when you look at the curb weight of each vehicle. Similarly equipped. Here are the weights Terrain AWD: 4049 lbs Equinox AWD:3758lbs Quite a bit difference. I don’t think the salesman is off by much by claiming this! Anyways, I just got back from another trip in my stepdads Sierra and it’s a big difference on interior sound compared to my Silverado. My next truck will be another Sierra after the refresh in 2023. I would have bought this 2020 Denali this past Wednesday if they would have gave me a deal but they wanted $11,500 difference. Too much! https://www.billionauto.com/New-2020-GMC-Sierra1500-3GTU9FET4LG277733 Good luck with your decision.
  20. Mine is in shop right now for the same issue. Along with a steering column issue. Hopefully they can get mine fixed.???? Agreed “rattles “ are so annoying. Good luck with your truck.
  21. It wasn’t a typo! That’s what he stated. And from owning it and driving my grandfathers. It was a huge difference. Either way it was way quieter. And my stepdads GMC SLT is quieter than my High Country as well. As for our new Acadia it is about the same as my mother’s new Enclave. Can’t say for a Traverse, because I haven’t driven a new one but definitely quieter than my mother’s 2017 she traded in for the Enclave.
  22. That sucks it’s happened to you. Best of luck. Remember it is a vehicle and they can break. Be demanding yet thorough with the dealership and make sure they do it correctly. Also make sure to call GM personally and get a case number started for your truck. My 2019 High Country is in the shop now with a few issues getting taken care of. It sucks that I don’t have it but I made sure they look over everything and I didn’t want it back until it’s fixed correctly. My loaner truck is a 2021 RST. I’m not minding it at all racking up the miles in it, instead of my own over the holidays?? Again, hope all goes well with yours and take care.
  23. I am currently driving a 2021 RST Silverado with 6.2L and 10 speed and also running in 17 inch wheels, while my High Country is getting fixed. It’s a nice truck, rides nice in the 17s, and it is really quiet. I’d get this instead of a Trailboss just because I like street trucks better than off road trucks. Don’t get me wrong, I think the trailboss’ are b@d@SS looking, just not my cup of tea.
  24. I have a 2019 high country and my step dad just bought a 2020 SLT Sierra and I can tel you without a doubt the Sierra is quieter. I also owned a 2015 Terrain and my grandfather has a 2015 equinox and my terrain was quieter. So when I bought my 2020 Acadia for my wife the sales man states the GMC put about 150 lbs more of sound deadening into the terrain compared to the equinox. Id say from my experience the GMC is quieter.
  25. You are supposed to unhook the battery for 2 hours when installing an S&B CAI per instructions. I installed mine and have over 8k miles on it without throwing an codes or any other issues. ???? Hopefully you have no issues. You could always unhook it for a few hours. Hook it back up and make sure your air filter monitor life is turned off.
