I'm smack dab in the middle of that window. I have around 800 miles so far. No issues other then what sounds like a belt / pulley squeal for the first 30 seconds on cold start. Goes away after that. I will have them look at it at first oil change, problems like that typically get worse - not go away.

Input on Amp Research power steps

Damn it! I really want them now!!! Lol They look great. What is everyone paying for them? I spoke to my local performance shop that just installed my exhaust. They are an authorized seller / installer so I am thinking of going that route in case they start acting up. Guy said they will support them no problem. I used to own a series of Tacoma’s for 10+ years. There was always a group buy of some sort going in for things like this. Are there any group buys to speak of here or on products like this? Seems like someone with a relationship with the manufacturer could work out a deal on 50 or so of these. Maybe not in a COVID world though. -

Installed CoverKing NeoSupreme Custom Seat Covers in the rear. It's been tough on my furry friend to not be with me as much because I didn't have anything to protect the leather yet. He was excited to get in and check them out. My little back seat driver is ready to roll to the mountains this weekend! As far as the seat covers. They fit pretty good. Would like to see them fit slightly better in some areas, but over all I'm happy. I feel they were worth the money. We will see how they hold up over time. I do like how well they fit around the headrest holes and areas like that. Even the center storage areas have cool features to keep them tight against the seat. My only complaint is they didn't include the "installation tool" that they talk about so much on their site. A coozy or sticker would have been a nice touch too but whatever. -
S&B CAIs now backordered 30-40+ days...
childstoys replied to childstoys's topic in 2019-2026 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
Thanks for the heads up. I’ve heard nothing but good things about the S&B. I don’t plan on looking at it too much lol. I’d rather it work well and look goofy then look great and work like $hit for a performance part. I just received an update from Realtruck this morning eta 11/6-11/14. Oh well. -
Just started a thread in the general area about this. I just bought mine 30 minutes ago because I had a coupon. They were back ordered 2-3 weeks now it’s 30-40 days. Will probably be longer. I spoke to S&B support and they said they had to change the production process for COVID reasons. I guess order it now if you want it some time this year. Lol.

I had a promotion coupon for realtruck.com so I figured I would apply it to the S&B CAI I’ve been eyeing up. It’s been saying it’s backordered for 2-3 weeks for a little bit. Now it says 30-40 days. I ordered it anyway to take advantage of the deal. After chatting with S&B support they say that’s the best estimate they can give at the moment. My guess it could be longer. She said it is due to a change in process of production for safety measures, due to COVID of course. Just an FYI for those that are interested and have been trying to wait out the backorder. It’s not getting better any time soon.

Just noticed it a bit for the first time the other night on the highway. Didn’t really bother me that much. Was mild enough to forget about it after noticing. I think I had to turn down the radio to even figure out what it was. Haha 6.2 with the Touring here as well. Totally love the exhaust overall. Wouldn’t change a thing.

Local dealerships and MSRP
childstoys replied to arkenzo's topic in 2019-2026 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
I only got about $2,500 under the customer cash incentives. I beat him up on the rate and warranty, which made up for it a bit in my mind. I’m sure I’ll be glad I have the 100k warranty down the road. As others said, don’t be afraid to travel if you find what you want and don’t want to order it. I was ready to buy a plane ticket to Florida from Philly and spoke to the dealer who sold the truck that morning. What I ended up with was a special order, took almost three months to get and no one in almost 100 miles had a 6.2 to even test drive. I live in a very aggressive truck market. My perfect truck though. -

They came out great! I’ve had 2 ppl (one at the gas station and one at a light) ask me where I found black badges. lol. They do look sharp. -

Almost forgot to post the "done" pics here. Installed the badges over the weekend... very happy with the end result. After having these on for a few days now, I really like them over the original chrome ones. Adhesive seemed quality at time of install. Only time will tell on how it holds up. As many said the factory adhesive is tough. Just keep heating it with a hair dryer (not a heat gun) and peel it back over itself into a ball. Then the Goof Off takes minimal effort to remove the rest. I prefer the Goof Off over the Goo Gone when debadging. I've never had the acetone damage the paint and it seems way more effective then the citrus based Goo Gone IMHO. -

I too am looking to have these installed in the future. Just talked to my local dealer and asked him the same question about the XL version with the two motors. He explained that unless your truck is lifted considerably he would recommend against the XL models. They apparently drop lower then the standard model and may be too low to be effective. In my mind more motors are better but not if they drop so low they are useless. -
Very interested in this.... Getting ready to install an S&B and it would make sense that this would help performance slightly by bypassing the heat from the radiator. Would like to hear from someone that has an intake and exhaust installed to see if they noticed a difference. I highly doubt anyone has dyno results for this. Also, was reading some reviews on this and someone said that they install the aero louvers in the grill of the LT Trailboss with the 6.2. Anyone know if this mod would affect that at all or vise versa? Still learning and discovering more about my new toy every day. lol.

Go to Chevy.com and initiate a chat. If you give them the VIN they may be able to tell you where it's at or at least how far along in the process it is. From recent experience, no one seems to know where these trucks are until they arrive on the door step of the dealer. Or they don't care to share the info. The dealer should have the most up to date info. But they need to press to get it as well. My dealer told me that even his system is behind a few days. Unreal that I can buy a pack of razors from Amazon and track them to my door, but you buy a $60k truck and no one knows anything about it until it shows up on a car carrier. Welcome to 2020 I guess.

Borla S-Type: is it worth it?
childstoys replied to Shazbotthegreat's topic in Modifications, Wheels & Tires
^^^^^ What he said.... I too have the Borla Touring. On the 6.2 it's a pretty noticeable difference from stock, and perfect for my needs. If you want louder then go S-Type. If you want "shake the neighborhood" go ATAK. My buddy has the ATAK on his 6.2 and it's very loud. -

Installed black Z71 badges from eBay. Pics of the process. Hairdryer, painters tape, 50lb fishing leader, Goof Off and a$$ load of rubber gloves. lol -

25-30% That's what my tint guy tells me. Actually he tints them a shade darker in the front and due to the amount of light that enters the windshield the front and back then match. -

Thanks all! I'm really happy with the Touring... It's been a couple days now and I'm convinced that I made the right move. No CAI yet. I reached out to S&B and they are still backordered for a few more weeks. Also, I wanted to do them one at a time so I could tell the difference with the sound and throttle response. Not sure if it's in my head but it already feels more snappy with just the exhaust. lol -
I'm not here to play internet police guys and gals.... but if you all don't mind let's keep the topic to tires. Glad to see so much love for the Duratracs! I'll be putting the new set and new truck to work for the statewide archery opener next weekend in the mountains. I expect them to perform as they always have!

I heard it was a project to remove the stock ones. Not looking forward to it. I’ve debadged most of my previous trucks. These will be the only ones I remove from this truck, having the midnight edition on a black truck I like all the black badges. Just wanted to complete them in black. Any advice on these ones? I typically use just a little carefully applied heat from a hair dryer and some 30-50lb fishing leader. Thanks! -

Thanks! After all the research I did it was totally the right choice for me. It sounds great when you want it to and calms down to not get to be too much. You’ve said the same thing in multiple posts. I couldn’t agree more.
