  1. For guys that have experience with these and the Nitto Ridge Grapplers, how would you say they compare? I'm thinking about upgrading to something more aggressive, mainly for appearance. These Toyos get great reviews but so do the Nittos and to me the Nittos look a lot better. But, the Toyos are cheaper and are potentially quieter and ride better based on reviews I can find. Also, what are the chances I fit 295/65R20 under my 2-inch level with no rubbing? On the Toyos, the price difference between 275 and 295 is only $4 per tire so I figure might as well go wider for that kind of money. Finally, where are you guys getting tires? I've been using Discount Tire Direct to compare prices. I've looked on Tire Rack a little but they don't always carry some brands. EDIT: Tire Rack, Tire Discount, and Sam's Club all price the Toyos within pennies of each other haha. And I'm liking the tread pattern the more I look at them. I just wish the sidewalls were more aggressive.
  2. I had the GMPE on my K2 and it droned around the same speed. I did the muffler delete on my RST 6.2 and there's a drone around 75mph. I have Corsa Sports on my Corvette which are the best in the business for no drone and there's drone around 75-80mph. Once you get to those speeds, drone is difficult to eliminate with any aftermarket system.
  3. I've noticed the same with mine. If I downshift to pass someone or take a "spirited" trip up an on-ramp, seems like it takes it forever to shift down. It likes to hold gears for a pretty long time which for me is less annoying than upshifting too soon - something my K2 with the 6spd was obsessed with.
  4. Update: Installed the new shocks yesterday afternoon and have put about 60 miles on them. They're a pretty nice upgrade. I don't think they're quite as unbelievable as I've seen in this thread, but still nice. I can't tell a different at all on the highway except on bridge transitions where the rear is definitely more planted. I've been over a couple of railroad crossings and they're very noticeable there. Overall I don't know that I would spend the money again but maybe I'll notice them more as I put more miles on them.
  5. I'm with you - I really love this truck. I opted for the 6.2/10spd combo which is fast and fun and I haven't had any of the "early" issues like value train or rear window leaks. It's a great truck and I'm happy with my purchase.
  6. Mine was produced right at the very beginning of the timeline in question. I'm 5,000 miles in with no issues yet so I feel like I'm alright. Definitely a crappy situation.
  7. Interesting. I assumed they would make the move since the SUV triplets did.
  8. Just placed my order for the rears! I'll report back after installation. EDIT: They are on sale through bilstenlifts.com for $20 off.
  9. I traded my 2017 in on my 2020 and I'm thrilled with it. But, my 2017 was paid off and I moved to the 6.2/10spd combo. I wouldn't have traded for the 5.3/8spd. At this point in the game I would probably wait and see what the 2022 has to offer. A new interior, updated front and rear, and probably IRS are on the way for next year.
  10. I've been rocking the muffler delete on my 6.2 for a couple of months now. I'm 100% satisfied with my decision. And at $75, I saved a ton of money. I had the GMPP on my K2 5.3 and it sounded really nice, too.
  11. After spending $75 on my muffler delete, I can't imagine spending $1500+ on a full system. That's money I could be spending on my Vette instead, or saving, or paying my truck off earlier, or dumping into my supplemental retirement plan, etc. Different strokes for different folks.
  12. I'd say you are hitting the limiter - I've seen multiple T1 6.2 guys say the same thing. I've been curious to try mine out but all the racing has shut down around here til Spring. I'll try it out then and see what it does.
  13. I'm considering the Blistens after seeing such great reviews. I like the way my truck rides except for the bouncy rear end over bigger bumps and thresholds. How much do these run? And is it a labor intensive job to DIY? I've never messed with shocks before. Is it worth it to do all four? Or should just the rears be plenty?
  14. Those look great! We need details.
  15. The problem with a blown LS7 is that it can quickly become a blown LS7. Actually, they can blow straight out of the box haha. Too many demons hiding in those engines that GM has never admitted to. But with a good set of aftermarket heads, they're great motors. I'd love to see a high-performance truck from GM, too. They have all the components to make it happen. I'd get in line for a truck like that. I think it's strange they seem to ignore the segment. It's not like the typical Raptor or TRX buyer is cross shopping anything in the GM lineup. Those sales are lost from the get-go.
  16. Love my double cab! This is my third Silverado and they've all been double cabs. I'm single with no kids so they always have enough room inside for me. Plus with the double cab, you get the bigger bed. It's perfect.
  17. Those aren't turn signal mirrors although they look like they should be. I have them on my RST and I thought the same thing. Turns out they came with the safety package and they're essentially LED spotlights. Pretty darn bright but can only be used in Park. I haven't found a use for them yet but they're neat. You can turn them both on or each mirror individually.
  18. The Cybertruck is cheaper but then you'd have to look at it everyday. Yikes. Plus it isn't very good at actually being a truck. I think GM did a great job here. Yes, it's expensive... and it's already sold out for the first year. This is the reality of where fully electric vehicles are for now. This is what is costs to sell a truck that is as capable as what we're driving now (more, actually), fully electric, and reliable until economies of scale start catching up to the EV market.
  19. Hmm... how strange. Don't think I've seen that before. Thanks, I wasn't in it for any hp gains. The 6.2 has plenty as it is. I just wanted to be able to hear all that power and now I can. I've got Corsa on my Vette though and I love it.
  20. Just talk to your exhaust buddy. On the 6.2 exhaust, there's a flapper valve before and after the muffler. I recommend leaving both for low highway noise. My guy just welded a pipe back in place of the muffler. Sounds aggressive on startup and under throttle but quiet on the highway. It's the perfect blend for me.
  21. Congrats! Definitely go with the muffler delete on the 6.2. I did on mine and it's great. At $75, it sounds just as good as those $1400 systems to me for much less money. Post pics!
  22. Wait so a 5.3 SLE or Elevation comes with the 10-speed but the 5.3 AT4 comes with the 8-speed? How odd. Anyways, love the truck! I like that color. Congrats.
  23. I have to agree. Even upgrading from a K1, the fit and finish and materials are noticeably better. I truly don't understand what the journalists are complaining about. I agree that the packaging is odd and makes things appear cheaper, i.e. the infotainment screen which is perfectly acceptable but looks smaller the way they positioned it. But everything is solid and it's very quiet. I've been in the new Ram interior, for example, and I honestly don't see what's so much better about it... Looks like that's the direction we're heading. If you see the 2021 Escalade or the new S-class, it's very telling. I wouldn't mind it so much if most of today's screens didn't look so out of place. So many interiors looked like they were designed completely and then they thought, "Whoops, forgot the screen. Let's just stick it here."
