  1. I specifically stated that the European formula doesn't show Dexos R on the bottle, so I don't know if that's just because they haven't updated the labels yet or what's out there is older stock before being Dexos R approved. Either way the website shows it's approved.
  2. Which is exactly what I posted and linked from Mobil 1's site. They also list 5W50 weight in SuperCar, which is new from when I had last looked at it.
  3. I posted the website with the information SHOWING ALL versions of 0W40 ARE INDEED Dexos R spec approved. You STILL doubted it.
  4. That ONLY applies to their SIGNATURE Series 0W40 oil. The OE and European Amsoil formulas DO NOT meet those specifications PER THE DATA SHEETS. Amsoil Signature Series 0W40: 0W-40 (AZF): API SP, SN PLUS, SN…; Chrysler MS-A0921, MS-12633, MS-10725, MS-10850; Nissan GT-R; GM dexos R Amsoil European 0W40: 0W-40 (EFO): API SN, SM…; ACEA A3/B3, A3/B4; BMW LL-01; MB 229.1, 229.3, 229.5; Porsche A40; Renault 0700, 0710; VW 502.00, 505.00 Amsoil OE 0W40: 0W-40 (OEG): API SP, SN PLUS, SM
  5. Why is it you can NEVER read ANYTHING I post correctly? This chart shows ALL Mobil 1 brand name 0W40's as being Dexos R spec. Supercar, of course, but ALSO FS(Full Synthetic), ESP X4 0W40(which is the branding on the European formula), and straight Mobil 1.
  6. The 0W40 is new Dex OS R spec in SuperCar oil and their website states all grades of 0W40 meet Dex OS R. 0W20 and other grades were for the old Dexos 1 spec. Which one does Amsoil meet?
  7. According to Mobil 1's website all 0W40 are Dex OS R certified. The bottles in stores still don't list it on the packages though. https://www.gmdexos.com/brands/dexosr/index.html
  8. Do you 100% know they are SOFTWARE unlockable now? They weren't when I talked to Lingenfelter. They had to solder in the lower security chip. What about Global B architecture in the 22.5 trucks? That was even more elusive. I still don't know if it's been software unlocked.
  9. Dang, bad luck for that guy. I can't believe it passed the pico test then blew up right after. Hope mine doesn't do that! I'm just about to roll 36K
  10. I'm asking about the chip bypass because I talked to Lingenfelter a few years ago and they told me that is how HP Tuners was "unlocking" the ECM due to the new security chips GM was using. THAT is why I'm asking about the unlocking, which you obviously have no clue how it was done.
  11. Typical troll. Doesn't answer questions, blames the other person. Brings his own bragging points but puts down replying bragging points. I've seen nothing useful nor helpful from any of your posts.
  12. Post count doesn't mean anything if they're useless uninformative posts. I have been on message boards before forums existed since the early 90's. You come in this thread with no post count making it sound like you found some magic to tune your speed limiter out with zero details. SCT is a handheld tuner, NOT the same as HP Tuners. I still don't know if you had a hardware chip unlock or if they've found a way around the security chip to unlock it without soldering on an older chip with hackable security.
  13. You have 3 posts. You just said you had it unlocked and you tuned it. That tells me NOTHING. WHO unlocked it? WHAT are you using to tune it? New member sounds like a troll.
  14. How did you tune it since you have to send in the ECM last I knew to get it unlocked to be able to tune it.
  15. TCM controls the transmission, not the ECM. The invoice lists this: B N252510321 ECM Software Update Cause:Recall 9107810 Engine Control Module Reprogramming With SPS
  16. Dealer called this afternoon and had my truck ready to pick up. Passed the test and didn't need to keep it overnight. My appointment was at 11am today and had dropped it off yesterday afternoon. They called at 3pm today that it was ready to go. They changed the oil and flashed the ECM. I had read something about a new ECM program to better detect the issue and set the P016 code. I talked to the service advisor while waiting for them to bring my truck around. He said most of the ones that failed were in the 10-15K miles. Only a few had failed the test. He said most failed while driving. He did say there was one truck that had failed at almost 100K miles.
  17. Dropped mine off Wednesday for my appointment Thursday. Of course a saleswoman jumped on me calling me and emailing and texting me trying to sell me a new vehicle. I was wondering how many engine hours people have that have failed and how many don't turn off the auto stop crap. I ALWAYS turn it off as part of starting my truck.
  18. The Gen 6 engine has been in the works for years. It's just progression of what is currently available. It has nothing to do with the current 6.2 engine or issues they have had with it. The failed lifters in both the 5.3 and 6.2 have seemed to have disappeared. I haven't heard about that much in the last 2 years.
  19. They stated on the voicemail they don't provide shuttle service. I'm also about 20 miles from the dealer. My parents live about 40 minutes from the dealer and they're in their 80's so I hate asking them to drive there to pick me up. I know for the engine replacement they are supposed to provide a rental if needed. I'll try to call tomorrow and see if I can get a rental. They gave me one when they had a service bulletin when I had it in before and wasn't expecting them needing to keep it overnight.
  20. Never got a second letter and the recall had disappeared from the app, but I checked it again yesterday after there was an app update and it showed a required recall and the ability to book a service appointment specifically for the recall. Have an appointment for Thursday the 13th but got a call that they need it overnight. Now I gotta find somebody to pick me up and drop me off to pick it up the next day. I'm close to being due for an oil change anyways so it works out. Hopefully it passes.
  21. What year is your truck? I unplugged the wire from slot 10 in the BCM once I found out they wanted $200 to program it, then later told me they wouldn't program it because I didn't buy the kit from them. I took that wire that would have went into slot 10 and T tapped it into the parking light wire.
  22. Yeah, I pulled the brown wire from where GM instructions tell you to put it and I used a T tap to tap the parking light wire under the dash. That's the only thing you need to do. Leave everything else alone as the GM instructions state. The BCM is what needs an output where GM has you put it on the connector and the input is the foglight switch that comes with the kit. I never did change back to the original headlight switch. I'd have to look to see what wire and connector the parking light is if you don't already know.
  23. Always remove the FILL plug FIRST so you can be sure to get fluid back in. Nothing like draining all the fluid and no way to fill it. I couldn't get the fill plug open on the front diff on my 08 Avalanche so it didn't get changed before I sold it.
  24. I thought the engine output was strictly from the engine tune. That's why originally there were 3 tunes in the Colorado. The base motor, a mid HP and the HO version which were even dealer programmed and not from the factory that way.
  25. GM sells rebranded Noco battery tenders as an option for Corvettes.
