    I've been plugging diesels in since the early 70's. I was always told to unplug cord before starting. Reason was so cold coolant that might hit the hot heating element wouldn't shock the element and ruin it. Doubt it would, but why crawl out of a cab after starting to unplug cord.

    Are you thinking of drilling a few 1" holes in the ribs for water/snow/mud draining? I haven't installed mine yet. Still debating if'n I will drill.

    It's been awhile, but I believe I found 12+ keyed power on the purple w/white tracer wire. Black was 12-.

    I would think there will be catastrophic problems gasing up your, running or not, dmax. But if your fueling up with a running diesel, even with a lit cigar, you'll be fine.

    Your dealer can print your trucks rpo codes with a description, from your vin.

    GM parts shows 2 different jacks for the half tons. One is for upsizing rims from 18" to 22". It has a red screw knob.

    Big bear and Lake Arrowhead are SoCal. I lived there and drove down the mountain every day to work. CHP has a road block at Waterman Canyon Road going up, mandating chains. It was kinda cool. 2 feet of snow in the truck bed still by the time I got to work. Talk about prime snowball material. ETA...this was 40 years ago, but I would say they still have snow. Global warming hasn't taken over that much.
