  1. Got in just under the wire too... My warranty expires at 100,009 OR 5/24.... Literally 5 days from now.
  2. Lucky you.... I was given a 24 Malibu. GOLD colored at that. (mine went out yesterday)
  3. Well after arguing the argument of "it WILL happen vs how much it really happens" It happened to me. Karma is a MF i guess. I was at a light yesterday, gave it gas, heard a loud thump, sounded like an exhaust leak at first. Drove to the next light then noticed the clanking sound. drove to a parking lot and by then it loud and very apparent what happened. Had it towed to the Dealer, thankfully its still under the factory power train warranty (5yr/100k). They did give me a Crappy Malibu as a loaner though. Said it would be 4-6 weeks. 2019, 5.3, 79,695 Miles.

  4. Yeah well. I have to eat my own words now, and crow, and ******. My lifters took a dump yesterday morning. Was at a stop light, gave it gas, heard a loud pop sound, motor started shaking, dash lit up like a xmas tree, and you could hear the lifter(s) clacking.....
  5. Correct. I asked YOU for a source. Your post was "Right...no source. Thats what i figured"
  6. I never said there wasn't an issue, we all know there is. But all makes including Toyota have their issues. But people on here make it sound like every GM truck is going to have lifter issues and that's simply not the case. Like i said before, if every single person on this forum had lifter issues it would only account for 11.46% of total sales, that percentage gets even smaller if we add in the number of Sierras sold to the total. My original count only included Silverados. Edit: I went ahead and added those numbers in.... There was 1,340,119 Sierras sold in the same time frame for a total of 4,246,901 Silverados and Sierras. There are 333K members.... So if every single member of this forum had lifter failure, it will only be a 7.84% failure rate. So how many people on this forum have had lifter issues vs those that have not?
  7. Source for the " its a lot higher than that" number? Most people only join a forum when they have an issue. Last time i checked there was only like 333K people on this board. Out of that number, how many had lifter failures? Between 2019 and March of 2024 there were 2,906,782 Silverado's sold(in the US, NOT INCLUDING GMC SIERRAS) So using those numbers alone, ONLY 11.46% of SILVERADO owners are even on this board, and out of that number, how many have had lifter failures?? SO 1% is a totally plausible number.
  8. The trucks made in Mexico can handle water crossings better.
  9. Having a device plugged into your ODB port does not void the warranty.. If that was the case there would be lawsuits out the ying yang towards insurance companies that have devices that plug into the obd port to monitor driving habits for insurance coverages.
  10. $89 at Classic Chevrolet, they usually send out a $15-$25 coupon in between changes so that knocks it down to ~$65-$75 for the oil change, but it also includes tire rotation, and they vacuum out my interior, and top off my windshield pisser fluid ( i use it a lot so its usually empty when i go in) I used to change my own fluid but once i hit 48, its just easier and worth the extra couple of bucks to have it done for me while i wait.
  11. " I will not purchase a Toyota, because I only buy American, but I will only purchase older GM vehicles from now on The tundra is probably more American made than the Silverado. The Tundra is made from 60% domestically sourced parts with only 15% coming from japan. The Chevrolet is made up of 62% of its parts sourced from US and Canada.
  12. My 19 came with connected services till oct 2031, and the power train warranty is valid until 5/19/24 or 100K miles.... Im only paying $9.99 month for the data plan so my kids can connect to it on rod trips. (using my phone for Waze/carplay/spotify and using it as a hot spot all at the same time was causing the phone to be hot to the touch. Mos of our road trips are 5+ hours, so we def need to keep the kids busy
  13. OR it could be that the TB owner found a truck that looked like he wanted and doesn't have the time nor the care to do all the work himself.
  14. on the 20's there is already a separate turn signal light. Its right under the Daytime running light.
  15. I know of several in the N.Tx area. FM730 running from Weatherford to Azle comes to my immediate mind. Hell even 1810 running through Decatur and Chico.
  16. The onboard wifi is slowwwwwwwww as hell. Do a speed test and see for yourself. I use my phone as a hotspot for the kids when we travel but it was causing my phone to get hot as hell since i was using it as a hotspot, along with ApplePlay for the Waze and music... when on the trucks wifi the internet speed is crap, like 4mb down and 1 up. On my phone im getting over 25down and 15 up.
  17. i remember when my 96 silverado had the under hood light that could disconnected and be pulled all the way to the bed.
  18. Has anyone used the Kicker Hideaway powered sub? Im talking about the 8" power sub that will fit behind the seat(crewcab) NOT the GM/Kicker sub that mounts under the seat.... I am not looking for anything that is going to shake the windows anymore, i just want something that will make the stock radio(non bose) sound better.
  19. I've personally seen a Jeep get denied warr work simply because it had mud in the wheel wells and on the transmission. The manuf. will try their best to get out of paying for any work.
  20. i was thinking about doing the same thing.
