  1. I'll trade you! You can have my 74 and I'll take your whatever. If it gets that cold here people would be too chicken *(&*( to go outside their house and we'd probably declare state of emergency.
  2. Yesterday buddy and I went and did some work on the boat trailer. New bearings, brackets, and brakes on the 2 drivers side. Went to do the same on the passenger side and they're still serviceable. I talked about putting brakes on the 3rd axle and now I've got a set to do it with. Old 2 from passenger side will go to rear and then we'll put the remaining 2 new sets in their place. All that's left is to attach the brake line back to the driver's side and check fluid level. Boat might be moved to my buddy's house in the next couple months. Cleaned off the back porch. 440lbs of crap gone and lots more room. Then drove out to cocoa for fiberglass and related materials for my boat and buddy's boat. It was windy out today. Also what's this snow stuff? Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
  3. Cleaned driver's seat before pulling it out to replace the seat cushion. Also vacuumed where the seat usually sits, lots of food under the seat lol. I guess that's what happens when Fatty is driven by a fatty. Figured out why the rear of the seat didn't move anymore, the plastic worm gear broke a tooth. Need to get the seat back together and take a trip to the junk yard tomorrow. If that doesn't pan out I could pay $50+ to replace the 2 plastic gears with brass instead. Not sure if I want to pay that much. Of course you can't buy just the plastic gears. If anyone knows where I can get just the gears chime in please. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
  4. Took a few hours to empty out, clean, and reorganize my truck box/tool box. Even though I know I have a lot of stuff in there, pulling it all out and putting it back in really emphasizes how much I have in there. Also go t the results of my first oil analysis today. Engine is doing well and so is the oil.
  5. A lot of cars apparently come w/o a spare tire, I've heard some just give you a can of fix a flat. Weight and $$ savings I guess? I've never owned a vehicle that could use a donut even so what do I know?
  6. A previous poster said that the sensors go to 100psi. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
  7. Did my road trip to NC the week before last, truck hit 96k. Might be at 100k by the end of the year. Bought a pneumatic grease gun so I can grease my own zerks, trying to do it with the manual one I've got while laying on my back was a pain. The one my tire shop has seems to always be broken so I might as well just do it myself. Stealerships don't even seem to know that I have them let alone how many and where they're at. On the way home from work tonight helped a kid change a tire, looked like tread separation. Car tires are so much easier to change, even if I didn't have my air impact still would have been nothing to take it off manually. Did have to use a the breaker bar on one lug though, I think the my tank was out of air. Odd thing was there were 2 different size lugs, 2 of one size and 2 of another. I think I'm going to replace my engine air filter, as far as I know it's still the original one. Wonder what it's supposed to replaced at. Other than being a bit discolored it seems fine. Think I read 25k it's supposed to replaced.
  8. Yep I couldn't handle the lack of range when I want to get away from suburbia. In all honesty an electric would be perfect for all of my uses except when I go on road trips. Your ugly little coffin box is pretty much any car and small SUV for me so they HAVE to come out with a pickup before I could even consider driving one. Even then I would still have to stick with a 2500/3500 because anything less is a little coffin box and I can't compensate with them. They are ugly because we are used to seeing grills and they are also built to be as aerodynamic as possible. That's my theory anyway.
  9. Why would driving an electric vehicle in a thunderstorm be any different than driving fossil fuel burning vehicle? I'm waiting for battery technology to catch up before I even consider an electric pickup. Then I'd have to wait after that for someone to make a 2500/3500 electric, so maybe by the time I'm retire or about to die something will be out. Everyone touts electric vehicles being greener but do how many of these people take into account the pollution created by mining and shipping battery components all over the world to make them? What about the impact of power plants that still run on fossil fuels or coal to generate power? The cost of having to redo your house's fuse panel if it's an older house that doesn't have the capacity to handle a charging system. Just like with everything else people ignore the downsides and only look at the positives.
  10. Went to the range to see if I could still hit the broadside of a barn. Came home and did everything I said yesterday that needed to be done today, except cleaning. I did clean the rims and simulators though. Need to get the oil sample ready to send off as well. Tomorrow I'll find out if I did anything wrong with a trip to the coast. Need to check the transmission fluid level after it warms up since I didn't go anywhere yet. Also put some frozen water bottles in the coolers to prechill them and put them in the bed as well.
  11. Woke up early to get to the stealership for a road force balance and truck wouldn't crank. Finally realized why fatty was acting weird the last couple weeks, bad battery. Oddly enough it was the cranking battery again too. I would have thought it would be the secondary battery with all the stuff that's hooked up to it. By now I should know the symptoms of a bad battery but I'm dumb I guess. 10-28-16 I put those batteries in, got lucky the guy at autozone warrantied them both out so I have 2 new batteries since I only had 8 days left of free warranty replacement. Made it to the stealership for road force. Afterwards stopped to say hi to my parts buddy at the GM stealership and give him some 6x9 speakers for his son. The strike is getting to the parts department there, has been. Took him out to lunch since the weather didn't want to decide what it wanted to do. Maybe I'll get around to rotating the tires, oil & filter change, fuel filter change, and spin on transmission filter change tomorrow. Need to do that and clean fatty inside and out before my trip Sunday. Sales guy liked my air horns though lol
  12. There are others but I can't say them on open forums and I actually forgot them. Sadly some people's response to seeing snakes are to kill them. Sent pics to my buddy and he asked me what I killed it with. It's not bothering me why would I kill it. Keeps the mice away and I'm pretty sure it's not a danger noodle.
  13. I think in one of the other threads somewhere I read that the govt incentives towards CAFE standards don't incorporate flex fuel vehicles or give bonuses for them or something. So if that's true it would make a little bit of sense from GMs perspective, obviously not ours.
  14. Got around to putting fatty on a scale since there's one right down the road from my buddy. Had to go there to pick up my brake set and replacement rotors. Even running the rears at 50PSI I'm well above the inflation minimum. Chart only goes down to 35PSI and they'd still be above the weight listed per tire at current axle load. Not that I'd go that low anyway. Since their app didn't work that's w/o me in fatty though. Also found a nice little nope rope in my driveway when I got home. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
  15. When I asked what the max was a couple pages ago someone said they believed the max was 85.
  16. 85 will work I think trailer tires are 90 max so if I set the low pressure to 80 I'll be fine. Who knows what will change by the time I get a newer pickup capable of using these things anyway. Also depends on how much 6 of them cost too or I guess an extra 2 since the RPO comes with 4.
  17. Anyone know what the max PSI they can detect/handle is? Wondering if they'll do 90 psi.
  18. Can you even order a dually yet? Website still shows only 3500 SRW as buildable. Then again it only lets me build an AT4 or Denali. Where are the other trims
  19. Come on GM hurry up with the duallys I want to see some long bed pictures!!!!
  20. Good now go after the Teamsters, hell start with my local, apparently Disney employees somehow managed to get the president fired, now if only we could clean out the rest of them.
  21. Went to the range this morning for some good stress relief and took a friend and his son. First time driving since adding the rear seat box. Lid on the under seat box was rattling. I hear enough rattles/noises so I stuck some extra foam from a case I had and no more rattle. I'll either glue those pieces down or get some foam tape or something. I need to go get the stupid tires road forced again, shake is getting worse again, hasn't even been 4,000 miles. Wonder how many times I'll have to get this done on the current set before I can get Michelin to warranty them.
  22. Installed a console "safe" and an under the rear seat "safe." Sadly as cheap and weak as the console is having a locked box in it won't do much to deter a determined s***head, but it's something. Rear box weighs about 72lbs and again is more secure than nothing. More secure than the console at least. I've been wanting something more secure for road trips or when I need something locked up. Locker Down really needs more and better pictures on their website though. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
  23. Yeah the PS write up thread suggests adding a cooler. I don't tow heavy, or at all really, so not much of a reason for me to add one. It went 10 years and no known problems, hopefully go a few more. I need to figure out why the damn tires won't stay balanced/go bad. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
  24. Well it can't be any worse than it was, or so I hope. I did brake fluid last year and coolant the year before. Transmission fluid somewhere around 2 years ago as well. Rear end was refilled 3 or 4 times last year. So I think I've done all the fluids. Just means it's time to get a new fangled complicated thingie right? Hopefully this thing holds together long enough for the kinks to be worked out of the 6.6 gasser if I decide to not stick with a duramax.
  25. Did quite a bit of shopping, cleaned out the garage, and did a power steering flush. As far as I can tell first one too. 10 years and 92725 miles might be a bit too long. I don't know what color the factory fluid was but I'm sure it wasn't supposed to be some of the colors coming out during the flush. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
