  1. As for your statement, "Extremely pricey", I only have to say you get what you pay for. I have a "Range" devise that eliminates V4 mode and it is a simple plug in item and no threat to warranty. But that only took care of V4 mode. You can also pull gear selector down and select D4 or D5 and that will eliminate V4 mode and give a slightly better shift response. That does nothing for engine performance. You can also buy a plug in tuner that has 3 select "canned" tunes for the vehicle. Not much help if you put some add on's but again an improvement over stock many say. I myself chose to do a custom tun from Black Bear Performance after much reading and learning. They have different tweaks that really help transmission shifts and if you ever add on performance parts, they will adjust the tune for that mod. The trans was my main issue but I can say I did feel a bump in performance... I do NOT have a heavy foot. It all depends on what you want in the long run. If you are going to be in the truck for some time I would consider getting a tune that can be modified with future add on's, but that is JMO. Good Luck
  2. Hope you have better luck than I did. On my 13 I bought a kit from a guy on eBay, LED strips with adhesive on the back. Within a week in the heat they were falling off.
  3. I can't say positively, but with all the other parameters that he can adjust, I bet he can!
  4. Justin was able to adjust my transmission shifts to mirror my gas pedal pressure... on a slow take off the Trans shifts take place in lower rpm like my old 4L60E in my Vett. The shifts are quick and you can even feel the truck lung a bit with the low rpm shifts. Under heavy gas pedal pressure the rpm's are up above 5,000 so I have the best of both worlds. I did not care for the rpm’s to rise up under a slow speed take off… Is this what you are looking for? If so ask him to adjust to gas pedal pressure.
  5. For a few buck extra I had Gen 5 add and extra power wire on my harness for the light bar in my future. It will be controlled by the high beam switch.
  6. I absolutely agree with the above info!
  7. I want to add that pgamboa does some very fine work on these harnesses. With his harness I fixed my "self wired" DL8 to DL3 conversion mod. I was very careful and soldered my connections but ended up with an intermittent working turn signal. I believe my issue was with the wire taps under the dash. For me working under there was painfully hard. I was able to eliminate the problematic wire tap with his re-pinned harness and no longer have an intermittent working turn light. You can't tell his work from the original and it uses the manufactures harness that just eliminated a couple of wires. To me I don't understand why GM would design several different harness when the connections are the same just some pins are wired in some and not wired in others. The swapping of these harness's are so much easier than self wiring, especially when it comes to working under that darn dashboard, LOL. I'm sure it won't take him long to figure out the bug with the 2014 year and the puddle lights. Thank you Phil!
  8. His truck is a 15. There is an issue with the 14's and the puddle lamps with the harness that pgamboa is perfecting. pgamboa is working to understand the difference but the harness's for the 15's and 16's seem to be spot on. Correct me if I am wrong pgamboa.
  9. ALSO cutting the diode wire on an angle with wire snipes helps when inserting the end of the diode into the harness.
  10. Well if grade braking is on I may feel more of a clunk when the trans downshifts because that is how grade braking works. I really didn't notice much difference when lifting the pedal between the tunes. My trans NOW with the way I describe how Justin adjusted the tune will shift more like my trans in my 96 Corvette. I think 4L6E. Heck on a slow take off my Vett will shift to 2nd within 20 feet. Stomp on the gas pedal and she'll scream before she shifts... Thats the way I like it.
  11. I want to comment on this. I had I believe, a similar issue with my BB turn. I did NOT care for the engine to stay in a gear and have the rpms rise on what I call a partial throttle or easy start. I wanted the engine to shift according to the pedal pressure. Normal or easy start, shift sooner; full pedal higher engine rpm’s. Justin was able to adjust my tune to do just that I am very happy with it. Sounds like you are trying to accomplish the same thing. Am I correct? If so have you try and relate it to them that way? Shift according to pedal pressure?
  12. I normally use my folding mirrors when driving into my garage so I can get close to allow the wife as much room to get her buggy in and out. But the heater in the mirrors does a great job on dew on the mirror surface and pretty good with some snow but a coating of ice takes awhile to get melted off. You don't ever want to scrape on the mirrors because no matter how easy you may scrape it leaves scratches on the glass. Don't ask me how I know...
  13. Just an FYI, My 2013 had power folding mirrors and during a brief ice storm they were folded in at my work place. One ceased to function after I tried to unfold the mirrors. My curd side was shielded better because of the wind driven freezing rain and it was fine, but the driver's side was toast. These mirrors only have plastic gears in them and are NOT very heavy duty. I carry a few plastic grocery bags with me in case freezing rain is in the forecast.
  14. If I understand correctly, if they are functioning as park lamps they would be on most of the time with DRL?
  15. This is a shot with that part removed.
  16. Here is what I found to be the item that slowly drops the tailgate. I found this when I installed my Gatekeeper 2 years ago. This is on my 2014 Silverado on the curb side. When this piece was remove the tailgate dropped like a rock. I needed to remove the 2 bolts to install the gate keeper.
  17. Bummer, I received one of my 2 harness's I ordered. Now I have to wait till Tuesday for the other to do the project. I broke down and ordered the harness's since I loose my left turn signal periodically. I give up trying to work under the dash...
  18. My 14 Silverado has that new style key that is cut on the sides, and I purchased one from my dealer for $70. No programming was necessary. At least none that I did. I keep it hid under the carpet where I know but think it will never be found. Can always open the door with the On star app, at least for 3 years. After that I may need to move it outside under the body. Maybe they programed it for me...
  19. I just checked the link again, and you are correct, NOT for the 2017. My bad... Time to upgrade the reading glasses, LOL.
  20. Thank you for the confirmation... I have been avoiding the dealer trying to ward off the hack job, LOL. Glad your issue was covered.
  21. I did get a letter concerning the radiator and I can't find it right now. So I did a search of recalls on "my GM" and no additional recall showed up. Is this a recall or just an extension of warantee coverage covering this defect?
  22. You don't have to get that exact part #... I bet you may even get a clip at AutoZone or NAPA that will work. I have a parts can in my barn and utilized some for my Trailblazer. Just visit your help rack at your local parts store.
  23. These young guys that work at dealerships, or even parts stores today only know what the computer tells them. There is always someone around the proverbial corner who knows of a better way.
  24. Sorry for the double post. My panty get in a bunch sometimes with these dam computers.
  25. I hear ya. I my 13 the signal wires were already in the harness, and I had to run power wires for the power fold. In my 14 I ran 2 wires to each mirror, and tapped into a ground that is already ran to the mirror. It seems that the turn signals has a separate ground wire in the harness so I just joined 2 wires (for the signal ground) on the mirror harness, ran 2 wires for power for the signal and puddle light and I was good to go.
