Does 6.2 Plus Z71 Require All Terrain?

I just walked away from finishing an order for a CC SLT Sierra with the 6.2 due to several factors but mainly from not getting any help from the dealer regarding compiling my order the way I wanted.

 

From what I have seen and read it looks to me that there are two ways to get the 6.2. One is with the Z71 package and the other is the the NHT Max Trailering Package. Now I don't tow regularly enough to want the NHT and I don't need the stiffer springs so in placing my order I went with Z71 but the dealer was adamant that the Z71 and 6.2 combination forced the All Terrain Package. While the All Terrain is very nice I just don't want an ebony interior as I've had either ebony or grey interiors on my last few vehicles and want the cashmere interior as a change.

 

Does anyone know if GM has now made it mandatory that the 6.2 with the Z71 requires the All Terrain Package? Everywhere I've looked in researching my order indicates that the 6.2 can be had with only the Z71.

Nope,As far as I can tell you do not have to get the "All-Terrain" pkg. to get the 6.2

Also...The GMS pricing program has been discontinued at the beginning of the year.

Thanks, that's what I thought. Even more reason to look for a new dealer.

 

Maybe its not GMS then, but it is based on the employee pricing that I thought had just been modified this year.
