Rattle In Front

i have a 1995 gmc suburban k1500 4wd .....5.7 350 and the problem im having is a rattle in the front end ive checked ball joints tie rod end....and such also happens only when i hit a bump or rough road if i jack the truck up and rock it i cant get the noise.....i also checked motor and trans mounts but it's not that....So my question is can bad shocks make that noise i know i said i rocked the nose but sometimes can here a little ping when the shocks hit they are also orginial.....any thing i missed......and let me ask u all this when i shake the tire not up and down side to side it does move the about a inch either way i know its not the steering box had that checked but not sure if that sounds right thanks for any help brandon nj
