03+ Power Extending Mirrors On An 01?

My bro-in-law has an 01 Silvy 3500 with factory power mirrors and he would like to install the power extending mirrors from an 04. I've installed two sets of power fold mirrors on GMT800 vehicles that didn't come with power fold mirrors and the swap was a breeze only requiring a little dealer programming but in both these cases the mirrors were 03-06 mirrors going on 03-06 vehicles. Obviously the power extend mirrors will fit my bro-in-law's truck as far as bolting them on goes, but what I'm unsure about is the BCM programming to make the power extend work. From a software standpoint, are the 03-06 power extending mirror compatible with the 99-02 trucks?

Thanks for all the help <sarcasm> </sarcasm>. It won't work. there is no computer module in the 99-02 doors apparently, just basic wiring.
