2.5" Or 3" Mufflers

I've heard a few different takes on this. What would be better for a true dual setup on my 1500hd? Two 2.5" mufflers or Two 3"? Will 2.5" be too restrictive?

Well assuming you have a 6.0L the stock pipes were 2.75 inches to begin with. If you going with dual in and dual out muffler I would go 2.5 thus to aid torque. If you are going dual in and single out like the original muffler I would go 3 inch in and 3 inch out.

I have the same truck except its a 2002 and I got the magnaflow cat back kit, which is dual in same size as stock and a single 4" exit. I like the sound of it, but it's almost a little to loud while cruising down the highway.
