Transfer Case Gasket

How hard would this be to change?  The gasket on our transfer case is leaking and needs to be replaced.  The truck is still at our mechanics because the new engine install is FINALLY done (after 7 months), but we don't want to pick it up until this is fixed.  Would it be easier than say replacing the same seal on our 97 Chevy 2500?

Neither one is very difficult, both should have aluminum transfer cases(not those heavy cast iron types), drop the driveshafts, unhook the shift linkage and a couple wires, unbolt it from the back of the transmission adapter and set it out. There is a gasket between the trans adapter and transfer case, when this leaks it leaks fluid out on the ground, there is also a seal on the input gear to the transfer case, when this leaks the transmission fluid can drain back into the transfer case and overfill it. Which ever is leaking on yours, I would have both changed now to avoid doing it again later. Just a suggestion.
