Stuttering At Low Rpm

Recommended Posts

Posted

1991 GMC Sierra 1500 ext cab with a 305. Recently did the cap, rotor, wires, and plugs. Starts fine, idles fine, accelerates fine. If I am steadily cruising at a low rpm it will start to stutter and almost stall. Also seems as though there is a bit of power loss. I referenced the diagram in my manual and all the wires are in the correct spot. Only thing I didnt do was gap the spark plugs. Any Suggestions?

- you should check the fuel pressure

- tbi engines should have 10 to 13 psi fuel pressure ...

Thanks for the reply. Fuel pressure is good. Fuel filter is brand new as of a couple months ago. Map and tps sensors were put in today. Still doing the same thing. Gonna check to make sure the PVC valve is shutting completely tomorrow.

Alright so the pcv valve is good. Brought it into my cousin's shop to hook it up to the computer and it's saying low manifold pressure. Checked all the vaccuum lines, the vacuum diaphram, even went as far as to tighten the bolts on the throttle body. Im absolutely stumped to this problem mainly because a tune up is what brought this problem to the surface. Any suggestions would help.
