factory backup cam to aftermarket hu in 2007 yukon denali xl

Recommended Posts

Here is the wiring for a 2007 Tahoe. You will need to splice into the Dark blue wire of the rear view camera module under the passenger seat (pin 1). Connect your reverse signal wire coming from your aftermarket HU to this splice. This is the reverse signal when you put the vehicle in reverse.

Take an rca cable and cut one of the ends off. You only need about a foot with 1 rca connector on the end. Strip the wire so that you have the shielding and a single wire exposed. Twist the shielding together to create a wire. Solder the shielding to pin 7 of the brown factory radio connector (light blue wire). Solder the center conductor wire of the rca to pin 6 of the brown factory radio connector (pink wire). When you solder/splice into the factory radio brown connect make sure you give yourself enough room. Just in case you need to install the oem HU.

Hopefully this works. I can't gauruntee it, but looks like it should. Keep in mind the factory camera uses 5-6volts dc. If you decide to put in an aftermarket camera it will not be plug and play unless the aftermarket camera uses the same voltage.

This is the way we do it as well - great instructions!

Only possible difference may be that the wire color for video positive could be different: instead of pink, it may be white.

Wow took me forever to find this website...i was able to add wire pins to 6 and 7 on the aftermarket device and connect those to a RCA male cable (Positive and Negative) which plugs into the original connector (brown terminal). It all works great now...thanks again for the diagram and the information!!!!
