Hi Guys

I just ordered a NEW xm receiver for my 2008 GMC Sierra SLT All Terrain... Ive read all about the VIN - Theftlock stuff...

I guess what happens to me happens to quite a few people - my XM was working when I bought the truck just over a month ago. The other day the service ended (second hand truck) so I call to reactivate it. Well they sent the signal... again and again... and made me call back the next day,,,, and try again... well after 25 times (not joking) they gave up. Told me to bring to a dealer. Dealer wants over 100$ to tell me its bad. I know it is. I tried a different antenna and everything. The weird thing is it cant pick up the personal coding to activate but it can pick up the preview channel... so anyways new one from GM (including GM Parts direct) is >300$. Just found some NEW ones on ebay for 60$ that match my part number.. you have a look here if you need one http://www.ebay.com/itm/GM-XM-Radio-Receiver-P-N-25911777-28126669-/270964264498?pt=Car_Audio_Video&hash=item3f16ba8e32&vxp=mtr

So my question is--- If its NEW can i just Plug it in and Go??... because from what I read it learns the VIN on the first power cycle.

Any tech install a new one at the dealer have an idea... or a TSB I can read??/ Thanks in advance

Well I received no answers... but heres the result - It works! I matched the numbers and plugged it in and a couple seconds later I had a working xm radio... Yes it was even full of programming. That must be the way xm gives out a free period of time without everyone having to call in from a new vehicle. Anyways thought people might like to know.
