Problems with install on recon tail lights

Hello, I purchased part #REC-264189BK which is the correct # for my 09 Sierra crew cab, as I do not have a dually.This number is also printed on the unit itself. The item did not come with install instructions. There is a connector that comes off the back of the recon unit that has 4 small holes. Nothing from the trucks light harness even comes close to fitting into this connector. Does anyone know if there supposed to be an adapter?? or have any other suggestions? Please help.

it should plug into the light socket..... pull out the bulb and fit that small flat connector in where the bulb goes... just make sure you try to match up the wires black to black so it works right, if it doesn't it just has to be flipped around

I believe this issue is solved. I spoke with Recon and the guy said I have to run the harness from the back of the light and the pictured connector plugs into the junction box underneath the truck. Trying it tonight.

ah good you'll love them. i found that when i tightened mine they wanted to come in closer to the tailgate then the rest of the sheet metal. i had taped a washer to the inside of where they mount to push it away and get a good flush fit
