ive been looking at the lift kits for chevy trucks and i was wondering why on certain lift kits the back sags so bad...is there any way that u can get a lift that makes it so that the vehicle is just a little slanted toward the front???

I've talked to the folks at my local 4x4 shop and at Rancho.  The good lift kits are designed to be X inches (4,6,8,etc)  Front AND rear.

There are 3 problems.

1. Some lifts are actually designed to "level" the truck (which causes sagging if you have more than a 6 pack in the bed)

2. Good lifts, lift the front and back equally but are usually modified by the installer when they crank the torsion bars for additional lift.

3. Some lift kits even reccomend loosening the torsion bars?  Not sure why.??

Check with the manufacturer before you buy.

I have the 4.5 inch Tuff Country kit in my '98. It actually went up 5.5 inches. It sits slightly high in the back and does not sag a bit. I can put my Polaris (475 lb.) in the back and it barely moves. The only downfall is the ride, very rough in the rear. The Tuff Country kit comes with a rear block and an add-a-leaf.

If you plan on lifting your ride and hauling some heavy loads with it, I would make sure the kit you get has an add-a-leaf spring.
