Cruise deactivates

Recommended Posts

2009 suburban 107000 miles. Just bought about 7000 ago. Originally the locks would cycle and service traction, new battery ground cable and no issues with that for 5000 miles. Now cruise will deactivate and scanner says it deactivated due to high voltage. I see things online about ecm update due to power windows or heated washer fluid use creating voltage spike. I am not using windows and don't have washer fluid heater. Anything else cause this issue. And what does the high voltage deactivation mean. Guess seeing if it's something other than take to dealer for update. No codes found in any modules.

On the GMT900 trucks the brake light switch was often the cause for a malfunction of the cruise control.

Maybe try this since it is an easy and cheap fix. If I remember right it was in the neighborhood of 20 bucks.

And 5min to switch the old with the new one.
