New 20s on the Burb.

Got some American Racing Maxim 601s and 275/45R20 GTIIs on the truck this week.  These have (within 1%) the same rolling diameter as the 265/70 16s that came stock.  Also they have the correct offset for the truck i.e. they do not stick out any more than the stock tires.  From the rear they even look stock etc.

Do I need to get an alignment on the fronts to stop them cupping/wearing.  I had this problem on my old POS Dodge RAM but then I had to put spacers on the wheels which probably upset the steering geometry.

I will post pics when I get a chance.  They look Bad a$$!

you should just to make sure everything is ok.  You might not need it so bring it to a shop that doesent charge you if it is not out of spec.  You dont want to prematurely wear those pricey tires.

I agree. For anyone thinking about 20s on a full size GM/Chevy,  the tire to get is the Goodyear GTII 275/45R20.  The 45 section gives it a really good low profile look and like iIsaid previously,  the difference between this tire's rolling diameter and that of a 265/70R16 which came on my Burb is negligible.  Anyhoo...Since these are standard issue on the Harley Ford F150, they are very reasonable.  Tire Rack has them for $141 and my local delaer had them for $161 installed.

I got them off ebay with the rims attached :)
