Question about scanguage and similar devices

Hi everyone, this is my first post here and I have a question. First off, my name is Kevin and I live in Missouri. I am the proud new owner of a 2000 Silverado 2500 2WD with a 5.3 engine. I used to have a 2001 Silverado 4x4 a few years ago that I deeply regret trading in, so when the chance came to get back into a Silverado I jumped on it. I also needed one at this time to tow my two jet skis on a double trailer; the BMW 328is I had before it wasn't quite built for that!

I'm sure I will have lots of questions in the future (and advice as I was a mechanic and worked on these trucks A LOT...good thing was nothing ever too major and being from a large farming community, I know what these trucks can take and keep on going!)

One thing I am worried about is trans temps towing my skis. The trailer and skis probably weighs in at around 1500 lbs, and I've already towed them to the car wash and the truck just kinda laughed at the load LOL. Anyway, I was thinking about getting a factory gauge cluster with the trans temp gauge when I came across the ScanGauge 2 and other scanners, which gets me to my question.

I've seen some members here use the ScanGauge 2 in their trucks and it monitors their trans temp. I also found the UltraGauge MX 1.3 as seen here https://ultra-gauge.com/ZC/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=57

And the TurboGauge IV as seen here http://www.bestcardiag.com/wholesale/newest-auto-computer-scan-tool-digital-gauge-turbogauge.html

Has anyone used those other scanners and do they also provide the ability to read trans temp? The UltraGauge says it does but I was hoping for some real-world opinions. Both it and the TurboGauge IV are cheaper by a bunch and I was hoping someone here has used them and can tell me about them.

Thank you!
