Gibson Exhaust?

Recommended Posts

Anyone ever dealt with this brand of exhaust system? I know Borla, Magnaflow and Flowmaster is always mentioned, but I guy offered me a deal on a Gibson exhaust and I was wondering about the quality and sound.

Thanks ~

I have Gibson stainless headers and a Gibson stainless side swept cat back exhaust. The fit and finish are great on all the Gibson products I've seen. The sound varies with which type system you get. The side swept has a mellow sound and is not loud at all, I tow a travel trailer some and I didn't want anything loud.

Got it. Like it. It sounds really good to me -- not real loud but loud enough to be heard. I've been driving with the windows down because I love the way it sounds. I just didn't want anything so loud that I can't hear my radio or talk with someone while driving. Overall, I'm really happy with it.

Get the Flow Master American Thunder! :chevy::cheers:

I just found out it is a 30 series muffler - That must be one loud system!

I have a Gibson side swept on my Avalanche and it's OK. Certainly better sounding than stock. I might opt for something louder if I had it to do over.

I have had two systems, one single side swept cat back for my Tahoe, very mellow and low sounding, no loud rumble. Then I put a Dual Sport side swept on the Z71, and it sounded sweet. It has a great rumble, nothing intrusive in the cab, and gets a little raspy at WOT, which sounds tight. That is my favorite Gibson.

I have the gibson stainless headers on the 383 in my 95 yukon. They have nice thick 3/8" flanges and 14 gauge tubing. very nice design IMO. I also have their sincle side output catback system. It has a nice deep mellow sound, not very loud, so it doesent resonate in the big buzzbox Yukon. I like it a lot. Here are some pics:

Sorry for the crappy website and the pics take forever to download. I'll fix it someday.

Why would you sell that truck? That is what I hope mine grows up to look like. Very clean looking rig. Although mine is pretty much a stock rig, it really wants a slight lift, some chunky tires for winter, step tubes like yours, etc etc etc. BTW, what step tubes are those?
