Questions about helper spring installation

I just bought some Hellwig 2500lb helper springs for my 2000 Silverado K1500. The instructions say the longer end of the springs TYPICALLY goes towards the rear of the truck. My truck has it's longer portion of the spring towards the front of the truck. So should I flip them? There is only a 1" difference, so does it really matter?

 

Basically, should the long side of the helper spring correspond with the longer end of the factory leaf?
