I've canceled the Whipple supercharger and will be going with this package instead. It consists of -

Aluminum heads - compression goes to 10:1 and there is a 100lb savings over stock!

Cometic stainless steel head gaskets

ARP head bolts

1.8 rockers

New intake manifold - this is purty! :D

Camshaft designed for outstanding low to mid range power (not named yet)

This upgrade should be worth close to 130 horsepower and I expect to see everything in about 2-3 weeks.

So this package will almost equal to HP of supercharging. That makes it tough to decide which way to go. What swayed you to go this way instead of the supercharger?

Oh sure, make me ruin my keyboard, as I salivate looking at that purty intake! We see how ya are. Keep us posted with brand choices and results. You can hear the money being counted out now. If it works out well, is this something that would be in a group purchase later?

I think the thing that swayed me is that this is different. I have a supercharger on the Suburban so it would be nice to go naturally aspirated with this one. Seeing the intake also sealed the deal! My first thought was "I need that!".

I'm not sure if there will be an opportunity for a GP in the future. It depends on how the manufacturer is about pricing. Some like to maintain the price of new products.

Wow is that cool or what, was looking at the ports on that intake, looks like they are matched to the heads. Will this intake only work with those new heads, or will they bolt onto factory heads? Was wondering if anyone can tell me why they do not have more offerings for the 5.3 when it comes to intakes? Have not found one yet offered for a 5.3, you would think that there would be room for improvement there.

All of these parts can be used together or by themselves. I can see alot of people going for the 1.8 rockers. Those are a fairly easy bolt-on that are simlar to doing a mild cam swap.

I haven't seen any replacement intake manifolds for the 4.8, 5.3 and 6.0 trucks. Actually, the regular LS1 intakes will bolt on but other modifications are required. This intake is made specifically for the 8.1 motor. It can be used on the trucks and also in marine applications. I'm trying to forget that these parts can be used on the 8.1 that is in my boat!

There is another thing to add to the list of parts. That will be a billet aluminum throttlebody that will be able to flow about 1200cfm. I'll be installing that with the rest of these mods.

Pricing for each part of this package is listed on our website. Your looking at just under $3250. for the heads, cam, bolts and gaskets. Going with everything (heads, cam, intake manifold, billet throttlebody, 1.8 rockers, bolts and gaskets) would be about $6390.

You can add a set of long tube headers to the list of mods that will be going on this truck. I'll be posting some info about them shortly.

It's best to recallibrate the computer after doing any of the big mods. The truck would be able to breath much better so this will allow you to take advantage of that. The fuel pressure is bumped up for the complete package so the programming is required.

I'm glad you decided to go this direction. I've done supercharging and really want to go NA with my Yukon. Be sure to do a before and after dyno so we can see the results.

Do the aluminum heads and rocker arms fit under the stock valve covers or do you need the spacers?

I'm also courious to see what the numbers are so I'll be doing before and after dyno testing.

Spacers won't be needed with any of these upgrades.
