The 2500HD(9200GVW) appeared in 2001 and I think that any truck with the 2500 designation with single rear wheels before that year only had a maximum GVW of 8600lbs and the 3500 had a GVW of either 9000 or 9200lbs. The sure way to know is check your RPO sticker in the glove box and look for one of these codes (C6P)-8600GVW, (C6U)-9000GVW, (C6W)-9200GVW. If you don't have any of these codes then your truck has a GVW of less than 8600lbs. Once you know your GVW and whether you have 6 or 8 bolt wheels, finding the correct lift kit should be simple, but then you will have the dilemma of which lift manufacturer to buy. :D
