Bad Fuel Pump on wives 03' 3/4 Burb with 6.0

We have owned the truck less than 7k miles and at a bit under 40k miles the fuel pump has supposedly gone out and its going to be $1500 at the stealer to get it fixed.

It broke down one night on the highway when my wife was driving it. It started shuttering and my wife pulled over and it would run but the whole car was shaking. We ended up getting it towed to the Chevy dealer and low and behold when we get there it started right up and appeared to be running fine. The next morning I talked to the service guy and he said that the fuel pump that pumps gas from the rear tank to the front tank had gone bad and needed to be replaced. He asked if the fuel filter had ever been done and it said it was done by the dealer I bought the car at. Anyways with a $1500 repair I obviously caused a ruckus and now 3 weeks later Chevy Customer Service has told me to stick it and I can complain to the BBB if I want. :)

They have really left my family and I high and dry. From looking at the older posts it seems like $1500 for the repair is really over priced. I believe they will be replacing the fuel pump, filter, and the sending unit?

Does anyone have any recommendations? I will definitely be canceling my 07' Z06 order!!

Go to another dealer. I think you're getting ripped. I had my fuel pump go on the way back from Disney World and went to a dealer. He didn't cut me any deals but it was under $750. The pump was over $400 (yours is $570) list as it is a complete module with sending unit. It's a long job as they have to drop the tank but unless they pay $200 an hour, it's not that long of a job!
