Amsoil Synthetic Oil

:bs: Bought a 2006 K1500 with the 4.8 litre V-8 and I now have 1,150 miles on it. I have always used Amsoil but never had a new truck. Amsoil says wait until I have 10K on it before I change to synthetic. I also hear from other guys that it is okay to switch sooner. Does anyone know for sure? I would like to change when I hit 3K as I do it myself and this way I will always know what oil has been in my motor. I plan to keep this truck so help me out if you know the answer!

Thanks!

each engine is different so there is no real answer. the 10k mark is what gives amsoil the least liability. all remarks and suggestions from well any company is for the least liability no matter what the industry.

I switched to mobil 1 at 2000 miles. My comanche was switched at over 100000 miles. It doesn't make a difference when you switch.

I switched my '01 to Amsoil at about 2,000 miles and my '04 at 1,700 miles and the rest of the cars in the family were at the first oil change. I have not had any problems in any of them from switching to synthetic that early.
