If you are talking about info on a CAI you will get opinions here from "don't waste your money" all the way to "it will be money well spent".

The factory set up is a Cold Air Intake meaning it pulls air in from the fenderwell and is cold air. On the contrary, many aftermarket units are not "cold air units" at all because they pull air from under the hood.

Based on this info, I went with a True Flow unit because it retains the factory airbox but replaces the restrictive tube. Their dyno testing is also done with the hood closed where many run the dyno test with the hood open and a fan blwoing on the open filter. I am not sure about you, but I do not drive this way. You will find other companies that offer the tube only also.

I would encourage you to reserach this, look at True Flow and the others.

I went with the GMPP CAI. The design is a closed boxed dry cone filter. The box deisgn Is much like the stock as it draw in air from the fender well. I went with the GMPP because it wont void warranty. Here is the pic...

Thanks for the info!

I installed the SC 2815 and an QTP electric exhaust cutout last weekend.

The truck is quicker and sounds any way I want, quiet for the neighbors

and any where else for the rest of the world. Just need to get the intatke

up to speed. Thanx again

DGLENN,

Here is the intake that I recommend:

http://www.outlawpower.com/productdetail.php?sc=1274

A few of the forum members from here went to the Outlaw Power facility and had it dyno'ed against stock and a couple other intake systems. They dyno'ed it with the hood down (dyno graph is on the website link above) and with a gtech on the street. The Outlaw Power outperformed all the other intake brands tested.

The description on the Outlaw Power site is very thorough. However, one other thing I like is that the Outlaw Power tube has only 2 smooth bends while competing aftermaket intakes have 3 convoluted bends.

The free NeverOil filter option is a nice plus too.
